  1. The Israelis drove the legal high trade from 2007 to 2012, mephedrone and all those other legal highs were all made by Israelis. And they could not be touched because the substances were new, until they changed the law. Genius really those guys. These two not so much.
  2. Yes, there are some different foods in the south, Massaman Curry is of course not Isan. But Som Tum, Grilled chicken (Gai Yang) Larb, fermented sausage (sai krok), Nam Tok, grilled pork neck, Pla Nin that grilled fish you see at fod stalls, it is not an exaggeration to say that the heart of Thai cuisine is Isan cuisine, ie Lao cuisine.
  3. It was already like this in the 1930s, then too it was the left FDR who wanted to go to war, and the right was isolationist.
  4. I have seen the 6 month period in many other places. If you go on the Thai E Visa website now and look up tourist visa, the multiple entry version is also limited to 6 months validity. Evidence appears to be that immiration officials do not know or enforce this 6 month rule with flight arrivals, but if they wanted to find a reason the 6 month period may be used.
  5. Ok, I just thought if the airline staff don't see either they may just find that odd.
  6. It is most likely for employees of a company where they get paid monthly salary and have a one year contract. If the company agrees to sponsor the employee and says he earns 4000 USD per month, and the contract is for one year, presumably that will be another way to satisfy the "financial evidence" requirement.
  7. Brilliant, thanks a lot
  8. I am not talking about a physical ticket but the PDF airlines send you.
  9. Yes, I was thinking maybe I'd just get a cheap Air Asia to KL for 1900 Baht.
  10. Thanks, and this 6 character code, if the agent checks it, the dummy ticket will have a working one?
  11. Dear Lord it is getting more complicated with every post..
  12. Do I HAVE to buy the ticket 2 days before the flight I need it for,or can I buy it 2 weeks befor as well?
  13. Wow...so they do check. Jesus Christus..I better find a very reputable dummy ticket vendor, lol
  14. There are a number of providers who sell dummy tickets online for Visa, proof of return etc
  15. Looking at it strictly from a legal perspective, if you stay over 180 days and you transferred the money to Thailand it would apply. Now of course you can then argue that DTA applies, you'd have to prove it. Lying to them is generally a bad idea, as they have all the systems and manpower to check what you say is true, so unless you can lie and the evidence would support your lie, teling the truth is safer.
  16. No, it does apply, the Thai authorities can audit you and you would have to prove that your income derives from sources covered in the DTA. I would not want to be in that position.
  17. In theory credit card payments can be traced, but I would agree that the likelihood of someone doing that in Thailand is slim to none.
  18. Well, the DTA doesn't really "protect" you, it just means you're taxed in your home country, where tax is most likely considerably higher than in Thailand.
  19. I know, one TF girl stole 35000 Baht in cash from me. Happens here too, but much less I think. In Phil I know of whole families that exist on the girl being a serial dater, that's how they pay their electcity bills and food bills. What about that family that sold their daughters for online sex because they needed the money so badly? I never heard anything like that in Thailand.
  20. Facebook has a lot of groups, the entertainment pages are full of bars for expats that hold PS4 tournaments or dancing events or other stuff. The Digital Nomand groups are also full of people desperate to meet others. Failing that you could have children and arrange playdates with other parents, always a winner.

  22. I did the extension in Chiang Mai and they required the TM30 beforehand. I asked my landlord to do one then and there online. They did, sent it via email and the doc chicks printed it out for me. Best to have it before you go there.
  23. You could, but I really don't want to take a chance. I want to be on that flight to Thailand without issues.
  24. No, I understand that, they just don't look like real tickets, no logos or QR codes. But it should be fine then.
  25. Exactly, so that might be preferable to you editing a PDF since I can not make up a verifiable PNR. The only downside these dummy tickets do not have the logos and QR codes, it screams dummy ticket from miles out
