Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
I clearly said that Wilhelmshaven was not an area bombing, that 435 civilians died was a result of errors made by the RAF, just the Luftwaffe made some errors when bombing military targets in London. I also said British area bombing started in earnest around May 1940. It is striking how the German wikipedia article mentions the 435 Germans killed, whereas the English wikipedia page does not. In the German page you will find the 435 victims. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luftangriffe_auf_Wilhelmshaven To this day English historians try to obfuscate the fact that the British started carpet bombing in WWII, claiming that German raids on London where civilians were killed while the Luftwaffe was trying to hit military targets were "carpet bombings" which is of course untrue. It is true however, that after the British began carpet bombing the Luftwaffe also adopted this tactic. I am looking only at the engagement between German and England, not the Polish war. The Poles had annexed German territory after 1918 and refused to return it, Germany's war against Poland was legitimate. Most bombing raids were in the course of military operations. However, to the extent that civilian deaths resulted that is of course very regrettable. Nevertheless, in the bombing of Warsaw for instance the Germans dropped leaflets before bombings to advise civiilians to leave. It was the Polish military that kept them in Warsaw. Later killings of the Pole, after the country was occupied, performed by the 2400 members of the Einsatzgruppen in Poland, estimated at around 60,000 to 80,000 were of course war crimes and had to be prosecuted, as indeed they were.

I was tested twice. Both times the test said I do not have Covid. I tend to go on what the evidence says. The effectiveness of masks in preventing infection with Covid in healthy adults is significantly below 95 of 75 percent. This is self evident since masks mere mandated but did not stop the spread of Covid. Even studies that conclude that masks have a small effect are nowhere near these levels of effectiveness for preventing infection.

Covid-19 is not a vascular disease. You have sent us an article published in the media that talks about a study from San Diego University which supposedly affirms that “covid-19 is not a respiratory but a vascular disease”. This is FALSE. As the World Health Organisation has explained, most of the infections affect the respiratory system, although they can also have implications in other organs. The study cited by the article does not deny such a thing, but rather deepens into how SARS-CoV2 affects the circulatory system. Covid-19 is is an infectious respiratory disease that can manifest itself in multiple ways, but in most people it causes mild to moderate respiratory symptoms, according to organisations such as the Spanish Ministry of Health and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition to affecting the respiratory system, the coronavirus has implications for other systems, including the cardiovascular one. This has been detected before. What the paper in question provides are details of how it reaches the blood vessels. In other words, this is "additional, concomitant, non-exclusive data", that is, it is not intended to convey the idea that covid-19 is a vascular disease, but rather to emphasise "the very systemic and multi-organ involvement that covid-19 produces", he concludes. "In the paper they highlight how the vessels are disrupted, endothelial dysfunction is documented, but this does not give it an aetiological exclusivity (this is not solely the cause of the disease) nor is it the only mechanism responsible for many of the covid symptoms," says Cequier, who believes that saying that the conclusion is that it is a vascular disease is "a bit of a superficial interpretation". Why is it not exclusively vascular? Vascular diseases are those in which the arteries or veins are affected and, in most cases, also the blood flows, either by blockage or weakening of the vessels or by damage to the valves in the veins. Although covid-19 sometimes affects the heart and circulatory system with thrombi, it is not a vascular disease. If it were, says Cequier, "it would cause acute myocardial infarctions, or many arterial embolism, both of which are rare in covid," he argues. What is more common is that through the whole inflammatory cascade that takes place after an infection and is a consequence of the immune system, "very diffuse" damage is produced and ends up affecting the heart, which can lead to "an alteration of the coagulation system" and, therefore, to "an increased risk of thrombi formation, which is associated in turn with thromboembolism", concludes the cardiologist. https://www.verificat.cat/en/covid-19-is-not-a-vascular-disease/

I Love Donald Trump
Lol, Russia's GDP growth is greater than the USA's, UK, Germany and France. The Russian economy is booming. What are you on?

I Love Donald Trump
I never confuse anybody. "Putin succeeded in codifying land law and tax law and promulgated new codes on labour, administrative, criminal, commercial and civil procedural law." In 2001, Putin, who has advocated liberal economic policies, introduced a flat tax rate of 13% https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_policy_of_Vladimir_Putin It was also under Putin that Russia joined the WTO. Your allegation that Putin wants to reconstitute the USSR is absolute trash, garbage fit only for the toilet.

I Love Donald Trump
It's not 1988. Putin is not a communist. He actually was instrumental in pushing through Western economic reforms.

Thailand: Where white losers that can’t get laid go
The problem with engaging with this woman is that social media is set up so that people like this, who spew utter tripe actually get stronger the more you comment on their video negatively. This is why there is a preponderance of such insulting, shocking, "controversial" videos, people comment negatively, the algorithm just thinks "oh a lot of comments, very interesting video" and thus this video is proposed by the algorithm, the views increase, and she makes a shedload of money. Hence whenever you see something like this, swallow hard and move on. If you engage, you make it worse, by making her money.

So many people love Trump. Just watched the genuine concern and upset of so many at yet another assassination attempt. Deeply moved. <wipes tear from eye>

Garbage Republicans Slither Out To Endorse Harris
On the scale of political evil in our lifetime, Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz are at the very top. Cheney wants the world to be in a state of never ending war. That they should fuse with the Democrats, and find a welcoming bosom, for their vile poison only further illustrates which side is the side of good in this epic battle. As of course did the two cowardly assassination attempts.

Tariffs and how Trump is a socialist.
I get the impression he's a nationalist who cares about America in an almost Churchillian way.

Swift endorsement turns more voters from harris than it attracts…
You're wrong actually. "Reviews of Swift's early country albums criticized her vocals as weak and strained compared to those of other female country singers." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Swift Weak! And: Strained! If her voice wasn't processed electronically nobody would listen to her sub-par voice. At least Mariah Carey could sing.

Yes, he was. But I don't think Trump cares that American lovers of EV vehicles have to pay double.

Honest Question: How is Trump a 'threat to Democracy'?
It really doesn't. Trump was not even involved in drafting that. He has said clearly he will not implement it.

Does Melania hate Trump?
I have already said above this was a civil trial. As for the jury: The jury reached a unanimous decision on May 9, 2023, after deliberating for less than three hours.[130] Considering the preponderance of the evidence, the jury delivered a verdict that first stated that Carroll had not proven that Trump raped her. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Jean_Carroll_v._Donald_J._Trump The judge's legal acrobatics by referring to other jurisdictions' rape definitions where Trump was not accused, is outrageous in my view. This case is of course subject to appeal still, so we shall see if this judge's bizarre decision will be brushed aside or not. In any event, this incident happened decades ago, and the method by which the claimant "proved" her allegation of sexual assault is by "outcry witnesses", ie she told her friends after the act, supposedly. They put in witness statements to that effect. Almost impossible for a man then to prove those are lies.

First of all, I am deeply sorry you were infected by this virus. I sincerely hope you make a full and good recovery. I support everyone's right to decide for themselves if they do or do not wear a mask, as much as I hate them myself. Whether you wearing a mask during a particular weekend would have prevented you from contracting Covid cannot be said with certainty. Even now, studies talk about 19 percent protection from mask for early strains, whereas later Covid variants could not be stopped by a mask. I do not know which strain caught you, obviously. The problem with mandatory mask wearing is that it causes an annoyance to those of us who do not want to wear masks. I had to go on a 12 hour flight wearing a mask. Now, I go on flights without masks, and still do not have Covid. So I hope you understand why I think masks are not wonder weapons, and they did impact my life, albeit in a limited way. Nevertheless, if you wish to wear a mask of course that is your right. Above all I hope you regain full health, as you are a contributor I always read with great interest.

Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
Okay, well, there is a defined meaning in law today. There would have been no doubt advisors would have told the decision makers how many would likely die as a result. In the end it was 1.4 million Germans at least, probably a lot more, often in the most tortured, brutal revenge kilings. Well, they killed 1.4 million Germans in the ethnic cleansing after 1945, so it was worse than Auschwitz, where 900,000 jews died. But yes, it is different to Einsatzgruppen systematically rounding up jews and kiling them, after 1945, it was the amateurs that rounded up Germans and tortured them. I agree, Churchill was flawed and he was undoubtedly a great leader. Also highly intelligent, more so than anyone in British politics at the time, courageous, creative, a man of action and valour. All these things I don't want to deny, Churchill was a very interesting character. However, he very much should be viewed in a similar light to Hitler and Stalin, even though these latter killed more people, Churchill killed millions, and was willing to kill millions more. Moreover, it was Churchill who prolonged the war in Europe, and who was instrumental in turning the war into war involving the US and Russia. He conspired to achieve this at every opportunity, for the simple reason that he knew Britain alone could not defeat Germany.

Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
The RAF bombed Wilhelmshaven on 4 Sept 1939, killing about 450 German. However, that can be seen as a "mistake" because the target were military targets, much like when the Luftwaffe bombed London and accidentally killed civilians though the targets were military in nature. However, as of May 1940 the British proceeded to "dehouse" German civilians, aiming to kill civilians from the outset. The day after the directive was issued (on 15 February), the Chief of the Air Staff Charles Portal sought clarification from the Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Norman Bottomley who had drafted it: ref the new bombing directive: I suppose it is clear the aiming points will be the built up areas, and not, for instance, the dockyards or aircraft factories where these are mentioned in Appendix A. This must be made quite clear if it is not already understood. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_bombing_directive Dehousing was a strategy adopted by the British against the Germans during World War II. It sought to maximize the damage to civilian housing. The strategy was proposed via a memorandum on March 30, 1942, by Professor Frederick Lindemann, Baron Cherwell, the British government's chief scientific adviser. The dehousing paper had been delivered to Churchill at a time of mounting criticism about the RAF Bomber offensive. Criticism was coming from other branches inside the War ministry and was becoming public. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dehousing Interestingly, the entire premise of the Dehousing paper proved wrong, there was no lasting effect of the British terror bombing, no mass panic and drop in war production.

April 2020 was not the "very beginning of the pandemic". The outbreak began in December 2019. So tell me, John, do you think the SAGE scientists were investigating the evidence for mask to evaluate the spread of Covid by touch? Of course they had figured out that it was spread via particles in the air, hence, the evaluating of the mask in the first place. What we have is the pre-eminent scientists saying the evidence for masks protecting you is very weak and refusing to mandate the wearing of masks in an urban or non-urban environment, except for very crowded places. I can tell you from personal experience, I have not worn a mask, apart from when it was mandated in planes and other times, and I did not catch the virus.

SAGE stands for "Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies", it is the body that advises the government and has the best of the best scientists in it. These are the actual minutes from the SAGE meeting where the evidence for mask use was discussed by the top medics in the United Kingdom: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5ed1327f86650c76adc36f47/S0396_Twenty-seventh_SAGE_meeting_on_Covid-19.pdf
