  1. I did the extension in Chiang Mai and they required the TM30 beforehand. I asked my landlord to do one then and there online. They did, sent it via email and the doc chicks printed it out for me. Best to have it before you go there.
  2. You could, but I really don't want to take a chance. I want to be on that flight to Thailand without issues.
  3. No, I understand that, they just don't look like real tickets, no logos or QR codes. But it should be fine then.
  4. Exactly, so that might be preferable to you editing a PDF since I can not make up a verifiable PNR. The only downside these dummy tickets do not have the logos and QR codes, it screams dummy ticket from miles out
  5. Ah, you were never asked, never mind. I just saw my old Thai Airways ticket has a ticket number and QR code, so if they would check that, which they could easily if they are from Thai Airways, that could lead to issues.
  6. Murphy's law, but it always worked when you amended the PDF?
  7. That would cetainly be an option. The only thing these dummy ticket sites check other flights so the dummy ticket is based on a potential real flight. I could check as well of course, but it is a time investment. But, yes I'm sure that would be a perfectly viable option because the Airline staff is unlikely to check if the fligh actually exists. They just want to see a ticket normally. I have fairly old tickets and if the airlines changed anything in the logo and that airline staff is aware of that it could raise an eyebrow
  8. Chiang Mai has already correctly explained it in the first post, the market anticipated an interest rate cut because inflation was easing. That was the main reason for the dollar falling. If the dollar falls other currencies gain in value normally. Then there were a few other, less important, reasons, the BoJ intervention which strengthened the Yen leading to many long UJ traders unwidin their big positions, and therefore causing the USD to decline further, the crazy Israelis precipitating a regional war in the middle east and slightly unexpected US economic markers. There were a few others no doubt as well. As Lacessit said, currencies fluctuate, all perfectly normal.
  9. onwardticket.com, it's 16 USD and a slick website. They don't have Chiang Mai in the options but BKK so that would work.
  10. Thank you so much, I will look now
  11. But why would Thiel be so keen to get Vance in? Vance doesn't espouse gay marriage or LGBTQ rights. He's hardcore family values, heterosexual family that is. So what would Thiel gain?
  12. Only if the immigration officer is not aware of the rule that you can stay a maximum of 6 months in a calendar year on the visa waivers. This 6 month rule has no changed, has it? Though indeed most immgration officers would probably be unaware of it.
  13. That would be a heavy commitment to a front. Either way, he and Thiel get on really well. Maybe that is why Trump appointed him, to better tap the Thiel millions?
  14. Well, I saw the same, that using the debit card is not caught like transferring money to a thai bank account. Besides, they would not know you used the debit card, how could they monitor it even if they wanted?
  15. Well the fact he has kids, I just thought it would be unlikely.
  16. What I do not get about Vance is that he is a protege of the gay billionaire Pete Thiel. He met him at a speech, Thiel liked him and suddenly Vance took off like a rocket career wise. But Vance is not gay. So Thiel selects men that are not gay as his proteges. The whole thing is very odd.
  17. I discovered Thai food is actually Isaan food. Which is actually Laotian food. Crazeeee, as my Filipina ex would say.
  18. You will be charged 200 if you withdraw with the Wise card. However it is the best option. Think of transferring money to your bank account. Much more expensive if you pay tax. Wise is the way to go. I think with Wise you get a monthly allowance ie maximum amoun you can withraw for free. After that you pay fees, but very small fees. It is on their website.
  19. Could not agree more. The overcrowding in Japan is not to my taste. It is the same in Philipines, people everwhere. When you take a flight you have to queue in giant queues. I mean I love Japanese culture, food, martial arts, yes please, great people, but to live with them, I do not want to.
  20. So I have to fly out of Thailand and got two one´way tickets (out and back) with Thai Airways but as I rely on visa waiver my concern is that the Thai Airways staff in Europe will want to see a proof of return to allow me to board. My ticket is technically a one way Frankfurt to Bangkok. I saw that people use "dummy ticket" websites. Would they suffice to persuade a Thair Airways staff you have a return flight? Has anyone used dummy tickets with Thai Airways? Are they a viable option or do I need to pony up the 1900 Baht for an Air Asia fligh to KL I will not use?
  21. It would appear that way. But it is interesting you say that, Caster Semenya did the same. She refused to be labelled "intersex", but rather claimed to be "another type of woman". This despite the fact she said she had testes. The reasoning of course is that male and female is binary, but there is more, us intersex people who identify as female, hence "non binary" or more than male´- female. This further underlines that Khelif is most likely akin to Semanya, ie an intersex person identifying as female and claiming the "special woman" status, or non binary.
  22. There is plenty of evidence Khelif is intersex: 1. She was found to have male chromosomes in a test by the IBA 2. She has freakish strength more akin to a male or an intersex person with elevated testosterone. 3. She looks like a man. 4. There is really no other explanation.
  23. BGC is the best place in Manila, you can get an Airbnb in Uptown residences and you would be central. There is good food there, but do not expect it to be as cheap as Thailand, it is not. As for food, deep fried fish, beef salpicao (poor people rendang), lechon, sisig are the highlights. Avoid any Filipino noodles, always overcooked. Cebu has some good Mexican and Italian restaurants. If you go to one of the islands there like Bantayan you can get nice beaches, but it is pretty dead. Boracay is now like Magalluf with better beaches, best avoided. As for the women, you will get some but be aware that Filipinas lie far more than any other women you will meet. They are also serial daters and at least 500,000 of them are outright prostitutes. Most women there are keen on extracting money out of you or a free holiday, which they will have many times before. Do not give them money for their sisters school fees or some such. Do not be a sucker. Pinalove will be your go to, but again, most women there are out for money so beware.
  24. Okay, you have been to 60 provinces. Have you been to all 320,000 restaurants in Bangkok? There you go. Even in Chiang Mai there are Burmese, Yunnan, Korean, Japanese, German, Italian, British, Hong Kong, Vietnamese, restaurants. You cannot possibly have seen them all. If you are tired of Thailand you are tired of life. Then there are tons of things to do and see, novelty cafes, archery ranges, Get a bow and arrows and make some friends. Vietnam looks good, but the people are not as nice as Thais, we both know that.
  25. We are truly blessed in the north in terms of pricing, that is very reasonable. I had a similar experience with dental work which was also so cheap.
