Men deciding what is best for women again

Thaix
My thanks to you for clarifying the land of smiles - greater car ownership has transformed the so called gentle Thai into a monster who has little respect for others, who has an ego so large that it rivals the worst of the male species
I sympathize with you and fully understand your thoughts of moving on
This obnoxious behaviour is a direct result of greed and egocentricity
Next time carry a brick with you and throw it at the vehicle and summon the police at the same time

Minor correction It was 7 thousand baht not 700 Equivalent to a year's rental even though I had already paid 7 months.

My girlfriend arranged last year for Online Internet with TOT to be installed last September
Recently business has been poor so last week I told her to tell TOT that the service was to be stopped - as the invoices are a month late being issued it required the service to be cut on Apr 5th last week - come this morning the 10th it was still on at the address given to TOT
At lunchtime I went to the office with the router and told the manager that the Internet was still on and that I wasn't happy that they hadn't pulled the plug as instructed - an argument ensued about my girlfriend not signing a form that TOT hadn't given her, The police were called by the female manager and because of my THai language ability she lost complete face in her office, in front of the police and her junior staff
She didn't stop the service hoping to extort 700 Baht threatened if the 1 year contract wasn't honoured - this of course was a bluff as was the threat of the police who were frankly bored to be involved in this trivia
The motto make sure you control these snobby government staff who think they can control you because of their position
I revelled in her loss of face and maybe next time she will think twice about this behaviour and dire service

Abhisit You are toothless What about saying what you think is right for your country
-
It is hilarious to read about poor people with only their pick up to provide services
The same pick up costs 2 to 300,00 Baht - wow so poor
The issue is about safety on the roads and yes it is only one example of potential danger but stop using this argument that it hasn't been enforced for years and people are aware of the risks - what about children do they know the risks
Enforce the law and Songram comes once a year so save up for a bus ticket
I am fed up of these pathetic excuses to avoid law enforcement
-
This law is well over due - the reaction well these people are ignorant about the dangers out there on these dangerous roads and are just thinking of travelling on the cheap or making a quick profit by offering lifts at cheap prices
The same can be seen with the non-use of seat belts - with regard to rules on the road given the shocking accidents seen daily here and the appalling driving I say crackdown and drive this immature ignorant behaviour away and force people to grow up and be adult instead of behaving like whiny children
-
The van drivers talk profit profit and profit - they overload with often 2 to a chair so I recommend the government enforce and teak away licences for offenders - it is time to toughen up on these charlatans

As long as the Thai population remain mute and frightened to speak out then this action like many others taken by the rich on behalf of the poor will continue
Where is the voice of the politicians
-
I think the question needs to be asked - what country is likely to threaten Thailand that would necessitate the use of submarines - simple answer - none and if China was to pose a threat the US would rush to THailand's defence
Accountability or lack of

My problem is men THai farang all types and why Well you only have to look at the driving here - male ego leading to road rage - leading to self-righteousness and unapologetic
Easy to conclude that the world's problems 98% are caused by men
-
This idea fails to address the problem too many vehicles
Like Singapore city vehicles should have to pay a substantial tariff (more than 1000 Bah t)to enter the city at booths on the outskirts and if they so wish park vehicles in designated parking areas and go on buses to connect with BTS and MRT stations
Why be so accomodating to these selfish people
Make them pay
-
There are a self centered element in every country and Thailand has it's fair share but people mustn't confuse criticism as racist or anti Thai as there are clearly lots of Thais who don't adopt this behaviour and are just as offended as quiet farang..
It is the responsibility of the local government and the police to maintain law and order - order means noise levels at a level suitable for the time of day. The problem is enforcement and here as you know enforcement is largely dependant on what financial reward will they get for doing the work.
Racism exists here just like in the west - again the law must be strengthened but don't expect any change soon as again this requires work - here lies the problem and of course the excuse used for not doing any - it is hot

I have the retirement visa Plan a short holiday to Vietnam
What do I need Transit Visa?

Huge quantity of new vehicles in Sattahip courtesy of the THai military generous loan conditions - amazing to see all these cars costing half a million baht or more but salaries supposedly about 20 thousand a month
Do the Maths or read between the lines
How many loans will forfeit down the road

Years ago I used the train from Penang to Hat Yai and that stopped at the border
Multiple entry tourist visa How does that work?
Apologies for all this but in view of the disastrous exchange rate of the pound it is getting serious about my ability to continue to put enough money in THai banks to get the 1 year retirement visa - one I have had for 10+ years

Considering alternatives

This response from the public to this dangerous behaviour is welcoming and the government through the police should encourage people to video footage dangerous driving and send the video to the police who can respond by arresting the culprit - a very high financila penalty should be imposed with possible custodial sentences
-
So after getting the extension for 30 days I then leave and go to Malaysia and then re-enter at the Satun border a couple of days later thus re-starting another 60 day
What is the maximum visits in one year allowed ?

Attempted murder - running a red light but here a quick talking to and on your way
This place is sick - sick in the head and the police do nothing
Solution Stay home and never use a motor bike
Drive like a snail and keep your fingers crossed
Never drive after dark
-
This seems to confirm the prejudice that exists in Thai society and the notion that it is OK to rip off foreigners
-
So fascism is alive and muzzling the press in Cambodia - Trump will give confidence to other despots to try to go down the censorship road - It is up to us all to speak out and make others aware of these developments and co-operate

Play with the child - this is called educational parenting - educational toys
Do not buy the child a phone or computer and get it to play games on the device all day

My thoughts Youth particularly male youth wants to show how manly, strong and brave they are and with an absence of parental guidance and where appropriate control the result is a dangerous cocktail and hormones out of control - this is also the case with driving
The answer - Tough enforceable laws on wearing of helmets, speeding, reckless riding and most importantly tough tests before receiving licenses and parents being legally responsible for their children up to the age of 25 so they can also be punished
This may help a little but more women in government to move away from this macho mentality that exists here
