  1. Reality check - Thailand entertainment industry is set up for men and on offer is what men want - booze and sex - it has provided large amounts of income to Thailand - airlines, travel companies, hotels, bars, restaurants, sex workers and their families, and the government through taxes, extortion and other means - licenses, tea money - FANTASy that travellers will come to pattaya for the beach, the environment, the temples

Government - if they want the cream they must get testing precise, issue staff with genuine test clearance passes, insist on visitors being Covid free on arrival and start to re-generate this industry

If they don't want then they will create a huge problem for themselves in terms of loss of income - remember each visitor pays a 700 Baht departure tax -a plane with 100 onboard is 70000 Baht - on average 2 a minute =140000 baht x 60 minutes = 8and a half million baht an hour tax revenue x by 24 hours and that is about 200 million baht for just one day - I can't see the junta waving goodbye ti that amount of cash can you

  2. Look the public are the same as sheep The government are the pigs and the only ones with an ounce of common sense are the dogs - Work starting times should have been pre-planned 6 a.m, 7, 8 , 9 and 10a.m Then only 20% travelling at same time and police taking scanned temperature and finding out where people are going and photo check to find the cheats - Cheats to be heavily fined - Yes it is draconian but this Covid kills Anyone noticed

Co-ordination and planning woud reduce the likelihood of a spike but now go to temple and prey for divine intervention

  3. The PM is worried about the loss in revenue from departure tax at airport 800 Baht x 100 people in plane = 80,000 - Approx 2 planes take off each minute 160,000 Baht - 60 minutes = 10 million baht for an hour x 24hrs = 240 million baht tax revenue for 1 day - Not available because of lockdown - may have to trim defence budget ha ha ha

  4. I read some scientific research that looked at the effect of capsicum and it has anti viral properties that if eaten alot would enhance the immune system against viral and bacterial infections - this reportwas way before this covid 19 outbreak but i suggest people look into this as it is digested and other plants - cumin is known to help the gut and lower the chances of stomach cancer

  5. I think that parents should consider a move towards their children learning online given the threat to health of crowded venues and also the benefits of becoming more technology minded will pay off later as well - my thoughts were where they could contact teachers available to work online and cut out the middle man - the Thai schools who are foussed on keeping the business for themselves and create obstacles for foreigners to offer their skills

  6. Need advice on 90 day immigration reporting given

A The office is bulging with potential infected covert 19 folk

B Access via car appears to be impossible I live Sattahip

C Registering 90 days online still is unclear and not simplistic

and I pose the question is fear being generated so one chooses an agent for 500 Baht - good piece of business if you can get it

    Any advice welcomed

  7. Across the world and here in THailand you have a combination of selfishness and stupidity and that is a lethal comibination - I was in the market yesterday and told a girl working on a fruit stall that she needed to wear gloves because of virus transmission by touch and she looked at me as if was an alien - all rushing into mini vans to travel - utter stupidity  The answer for me is stay at home 99% of the time and venture out to buy food at the least popular times and forward planning and hope-
