  1. There's one of those many ugly parts of Thai culture I abhor.
  2. How the heck do you crash into a stationary vehicle? Plus, are 3 or more people allowed on a motorcycle? If we go by the manufacturers safety notices in the operator manuals...NO! ....and let me guess, all three people had no helmets.
  3. It looks like a head-on collision, or possibly left side of motorcycle hit, and the car is on the far left side of the road. So, Ghost Rider? Unless the motorcycle turned right in front of the car to enter the Sirin Village, which wouldn't surprise me. I can't see any scenario here where the car would be at fault.
  4. When you take this news with the one I saw this morning on the BangkokPost, "Amnesty bills expected in December", you know where this is heading. Just a matter of time before the next coup, rinse...repeat. We are living in a powder-keg just waiting to be ignited.
  5. If someone doesn't put a stop to this, Thaksin will become Emperor of Thailand.
  6. Living in Hartford was the issue, not living in the US.
  7. I know one thing, I feel safer on the roads/sidewalks/crosswalks back in the USA, than I do here. I thought I was back in heaven when I went back in May, clean air, clean forests, clean water, safe travelling on the roads.....walked my daughter to several parks/playgrounds without anyone trying to run us over, its was delightful! Stay out of the major cities back in the USA where the riff-raff lives, and life is pretty nice, at least our Barbarians are confined to certain cities/neighborhoods in the USA that are easily bypassed.
  8. I snorkeled without a vest (BCD) off of Kauai (USA), but that was only because I had a protected a cove (with a beautiful reef) in front of my surf shack, though we did have very strong cross currents. However, off of Ko Nang Yuan (Thailand), we took the tour boat and we used vests all day when we travelled around Ko Tao, we got lucky with only 6 people on our boat that day, and we were out for quite awhile. I had a blast, even with the life jackets, but the water around there was quite shallow. It's better to be safe than sorry when travelling in a foreign country, especially while taking part in any potentially dangerous escapades.
  9. That and my own observations. I have little respect for most Thai's, mainly by the way they treat others around them. Basically, I find Thailand to be a barbaric culture, I am averse to it all.
  10. I guess so, my wife seems to think so 🤪 .....plus she is the one who told me this years ago, which is why she wouldn't date a Thai man.
  11. I'm 55, and gave up my BigBike last year, my wife was happy about it, me not so much, but mainly I didn't want to die or be maimed by the numerous suicidal Thai drivers here. Last thing I want right now is to be injured or maimed for life, especially while entering an older age.
  12. As I am get older, I've contemplated using this method in the future, for now I am still quite a force to be reckoned with, so no need.
  13. It's best to stay away from the bars too, they aren't any safer than the streets.
  14. The Barbarians still exist, don't be fooled people, they are a threat to civilized society.
  15. Wear the life jacket you numbnut! You are in a foreign land, in foreign unknown waters with who knows what lurking in the water and no idea where to go if you go missing while floating around, or pushed off course. God forbid you drown, get stung by a box jellyfish, etc.
  16. So he wasn't hiding for 40 years, he was just living in Thailand for 40 years.
  17. Somebody like this should just be burned at the stake, and on live TV for all to see as a deterrent.
  18. Hopefully he dies in jail before his 3-1/2 years is up, maybe the British convicts are like the US ones, they don't like child predators.
  19. How the heck did he hide in Thailand for 40 years?! Was there just no notice to arrest him from Interpol until recently? If that is the case, then he wasn't exactly hiding, as he must have had to renew his Passport many times in 40 years. Sounds like they weren't really pursuing him all that time.
  20. I'll agree with that, which is why he should be banned from operating a Taxi, and based on the injuries seen here, he should be spending significant time behind bars. NOTE: Oops, not sure where I got "Taxi" from, must have confused two different stories 🙃
  21. I like the one flight attendant enjoying her job of recording things, while everyone else is wrestling with him. Hope he enjoys his stay in Korea, he may be there for quite a while.
  22. According to the Thais, it has everything to do with his trade. They see it as ruining the image they want for their country, he should be banned from driving a Taxi, as he is a threat to anyone he encounters.
  23. Darwin was right, I hope Somchai enjoys his award.
  24. I'm pretty sure she doesn't have an original thought in her head, Daddy gives orders, she follows them.
  25. Is this Chicago, or Thailand?
