Genital warts, I've heard. -
Well if they want the receiving bank to withhold tax they would have to withhold some average rate, at least the first year, and then recalculate the effective rate when they do your tax return. The subsequent year the could use the effective rate for withholding, But who knows.. If that was the case I'd transfer 600k to myself, 600 to my wife. Make 100k work of cash withdrawals on my Maestro card and use my two UBS credit cards. The transfers would only be for building up savings at minimal cost (7% Tax). But that's totally hypothetical, of course.

I have a list of adjectives, you can PM me if you want to know.

But I and my pension may well get caught in this amateurish fiasco. If I had to pay Income tax it would cost me 850000 a year, I'd be glad to contribute this to help make Thailand a better country my girls could grow and live in. But we all know this money would only feed more lazy and corrupt government agents.

Yes, couldn't boomboom for about a week.

Also, now that the Government wants to tax my pension I have explored the deductions that are allowed for family support. I found out that the maximum deduction from taxable income for one child is a preposterous 30000 a year. That's some incentive, isn't? Nappies and formula alone will cost over 100000 a year.

Maybe, but the LTR/WP differs from other visas such as Thailand Elite in that tax exemption is advertised as one of its main benefits. None of the other retirement visa offers such benefit. Until now all pensioners who transferred their income in the year of earning were technically taxable, but the Tax Office chose to ignore this situation and might to it again. Thais would say that pensions aren't taxable, but that only true as their miserable benefits are, for the vast majority, below 150000 per annum.

Weighing passengers to become standard for Bangkok Airways

Do you really think that economy class passengers are getting ripped off by airlines? It is the First and Business class passengers that make the profit (if any) of the airlines. -

Well they have been doing this for decades. It is calle business class. Can't complain about leg room when one pays 800 USD for a GVA/BKK. -
About 10 Satang a Calorie.

For an individual of this quality, joining the ADF would make more sense IMHO. He might not end up caught on the wrong side of the fence. Also, Australia flies the F35 and doesn't cry for Diesel submarine engines.

Hardly luxury at 3364 Baht per night. But that's no excuse for not giving proper compensation. Giving 100000 is an insult in this case.

Doesn't matter, it was indeed covered by Apple care+. But the point is that they didn't replace the screen, they took a brand new Ipad out of stock, sent us off to have a coffee somewhere while they copied all data, settings and apps from the old tablet to the new one. Apple doesn't tinker, or rarely, they replace damaged units and sent the old ones to factory for refurbishing. Also I had a Macbook pro that got badly damaged by a swollen battery, keyboard, and full body needed replacement, they asked me to pay 7000 Baht for battery replacement and replaced the unit. Took a while because my keyboard showed hebrew caracters.
