Well, if I take a 4.5k midpoint of your billing range, that's a 100 months payback. So over 8 years without any maintenance charges. Makes it a questionable investment IMHO. I.e when will you need to replace your panels, inverter, etc... Ok, let's not highjack this thread. But I was thinking of getting solar panels, but only of the roofs exposed for maximal yield. Yeah, some guys would boast about their 162.47 electricity bill and forget to tell that they've just spent half a million on solar panels... My answer to the OP would be 100K if single, 200K to 300K for a family of four. The latter is my situation out in Surin, and I consider my standard of living as modest. But I don't try to compare myself to the locals, as I watch them in amazement.

You are not wrong, but there is something else about torrenting: I have set up my own media server with Plex, where my downloads are nicely managed. Gives me a flexility that I wouldn't get from Netflix, especially in Thailand where only a fraction of Netflix' catalog can be viewed. Don't tell me my that my media server costs me as much as ten years of a Netflix subscription, I know.

Got this today from friendly BOI (ignore if redundant): LTR Visa holders staying in Thailand for a period longer than 1 year consecutively are required to report the current address to the Immigration at One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit (OSS) either in person, or by authorizing someone to report for you on your behalf. This report must be done on a yearly basis counting from LTR Visa issuance date (15 days before or 7 days after the date specified on 1-year report notification card). Frankly I tend to be negative about Thailand, but it is more related to the sorry state of the country. I have travelled in Asia for the past 45 years, and during my early years economists described Thailand as one of the "Rising Tigers" of the region. While neighbours made inroads into democracy and its resulting development this place resisted any change and we can still witness what is happening today. Not an option, at 70+, you are near certain to end up impotent, and probably in nappies as well. While radiotherapy present similar risks but the side effects are delayed, and blunt incontinence is unlikely. There is also the risk of rectal damage but this now mitigated by the "Space OAR" hydrogel rectal spacer. SBRT is become quite popular as the whole treatment can be carried out in 2 to 3 weeks, while IMRT/IGRT can last up to 6 or 7 weeks.

I am on active surveillance for Prostate cancer and have limited my choice of radical treatment, when the need arises, to SBRT. Would anyone know if any of the Bangkok hospitals uses SBRT to treat PCA. Several places advertise they have SBRT gear, but that doesn't mean they use it for Prostate cancer. Also, I would be interested if rectal hydrogel spacers (Space OAR) are being used for Radiotherapy in Thailand.

Seriously? But you are correct, if I didn't have the 80k pension and a well established health coverage I wouldn't have applied for the LTR. Which is amazingly easy to get when you match the criteria.
