  1. So what makes you a German tax resident? And then I don't get it, you couldn't put money into a retirement fund now to draw a pension in a few months. And if you could do so, you could probably qualify as a wealthy global citizen, as you said. Your weakness might be that you may be to attached to your money. AFAIC, I have had an "LTR qualifying" pension without withholding tax for years. So it was a no brainer.
  2. They look too young to be those lost during the Rainbow Warrior operation in the early eighties.
  3. None of the above, but a combination plus a few a other things.
  4. Or have 8000 USD being paid every month by one pension fund into one bank account. It works, I did it.
  5. So if I follow your brilliant course of thought, UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, aren't democracies either.
  6. Absolutely nothing, the umpteen constitutions were just Kaizen.
  7. a) US$ 80000 min are supposed to an overseas pension. I know because this is how I got my LTR. b) Elite Visa holders won't be taxed on their overseas pension, but they will be taxed if they remit these funds to Thailand, they may deduct taxes paid overseas on that income. And this will all depend on the wording an interpretation of their relevant DTAs. A lot of homework in any case. c) There is no rule nor decree exempting Elite visa holders.
  8. So, that what you did last WE, you moved AN to your new Macbook Air. We enjoy the difference..
  9. I don't think that's right, BOI know when a tax return should be available. For instance when you apply while living in your home country, or a US citizen. In my case, where I applied after living 7 years in Thailand and as a non US citizen, they understood that I couldn't show a tax return.
  10. I could not fathom why an agent would insist on such a requirement. Could someone help me out? On a more serious note, the online TM30 reporting system works quite well.
  11. But they check thoroughly that you are up to date with the 365.25 days reports. I did a stamp transfer to my new passport last week, and she made sure I had left the country when she couldn't find the report in my paperwork. BTW, there is only one workstation for new passports so it takes 3 to 4 hours. Drop your paperwork before lunch, and pick up in the afternoon.
  12. A country stuck in 1750. But I cannot mention the relevant articles of the constitution. And look at the spread of wealth and you'll find glaring similarities with France under Louis XVI.
  13. Absolutely not. I have 3 nationalities I am proud of, there is no way I could be proud of being Thai.
  14. Lucky him.. Why would one want a Thai nationality?
  15. Being a leading democracy without a constitution and having an unarmed police force are things I would be proud of if I was a Brit.
  16. But that was after the commission of the manager who authorised the compensation.
  17. And only one toilet for the 5 of you? Or maybe they got you catheterised? I know that some doctors do. I was a bit worried as I have one giant prostate, but they didn't. During the night I went to the toilet 5 or 6 times, had a weak flow and I had to drag the rip rig with me... They also said that could have a sore throat from intubation, but no trace of that either.
  18. Is there something like the NRMA in Thailand? Consumer protection associations? Too subversive for this place IMHO.
