  1. Why? The Higher worth people, those who have nothing to hide, should apply for the LTR and save a heap of Dough.
  2. It does happen, but in a protracted way. Wolf Blass, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lellow label which I had never bought under 599, can be had at 569, in many shops. There are lot of wines now in the 500 to 650 range a lot more than before; interestingly many of these are new labels, which I have never seen before in Thailand. IMHO, the retail prices are [in the process of] dropping by 5 to 10%. It is also a question of stock rotation, so good wines of 1000/1200 THB which are selling less will probably follow once they get reimported.
  3. Thanks, you are right. I think it didn't register as my old brain was was focusing on the "previous year" bit. "assessable income under section 40 of the Revenue Code derived in the previous tax year from an employment, or from business carried on abroad, or from a property situated abroad, and brought into Thailand." So to be safe I should bring in my 2024 income, in the early part of 2025, possibly before filing a tax return. Not a problem but good to know. And yes any income earned and left overseas could be become assessable for LTR holders once WWIT is implemented. Also using foreign debit/credit card would become self defeating as an LTR holder would have to prove that these debits were to for goods and services in Thailand to avoid IT.
  4. @steven100 Can't remember, stayed a few days every now and then some 30 years ago. One time with my family around Yulefest, the local mascot/drunk, "Bo", came to our table to give a gift to my little Vietnamese girl. The sense of community, and welcome, was almost overwhelming.
  5. Nope, neither "remitted" nor "brought in Thailand" can be read in the english version of RD 743. Actually the more I read this document the mor I get the feeling is compatible with WWIT. The only thing is that HSPs could be taxed IMHO.
  6. Dorrigo, Bellingen or San Pedro de Atacama.
  7. Got mine done by Asst.Prof.Dr. Theerapol Angkoolpakdeekul at Bumrungrad early May for about 250k. Just magic. Zero pain, zero side effect. Enjoy food from day +1.
  8. Obviously there was a good level of readiness against the Hezbollah. Getting these micro bombs into devices takes time, and they might have been waiting there for a while to be detonated. The Hamas attack, on the other hand, revealed an obvious failure of the Mossad, and others. Even the greatest can fail... Anyhow, Israel will prevail. While the Western Pansies ...
  9. Munster Cheese. Always reminiscent of my first Cunnilingus. Nearly 60 years ago.
  10. Glad they don't consider lapidation, which would be self defeating. But T.I.T.
  11. Naah, no grammar police at all. My ADD just triggered that subtle way to underline an Asean typo. I Use(d) 4 languages and butcher(ed) them all.
  12. Yes I did some night shifts to pay for my education, and now I am posting on Aseannow.
  13. So that's about 150 Million people who owe USD 1.14 Trillion each?
  14. Well, you have even less patience than I have. Loss of tax exemption would cost me 860K a year, as I paid o IT since 1991, but I am not sure I'd save anything by living 186 days out of country. So my only motivation would be retaliation, but that might be enough.
  15. So, why would you be worried about Thai tax. Is your exposure so high that you'd have to pay a significant "Delta"?
  16. So you reckon US politics is all about "Democrat Marxists" against "Republican Nazis" ?
  17. Anyone got contacts for these two. I am always in search for good workers. 80% of Thai labour sucks. A tiny proportion of that sell that talent in Massage parlors.
