BBC Faces Backlash Over Use of Term ‘Revert’ in Islam Coverage
Really? Why do they not send their own independent journalists into Gaza? So the world could finally see what is really going on there.

BBC Faces Backlash Over Use of Term ‘Revert’ in Islam Coverage
I doubt that look at the current mindset of people today. The thread is about the backlash BBC faced because of referring to Muslim converts as reverts, because “The term “revert” is rooted in the belief held by some Muslims that every human is born into Islam and that conversion later in life“ So what? Christians believe that if you are not baptised you go to hell, which includes pretty much every person ever lived on this planet except Christians. Some member called this a deliberate act of Islamic propaganda, which I doubt, as I assume that most people don't know the difference between a revert and convert. He then made a few statements about the fate of women in Islam and all I did was providing a few explanations, while clearly not condoning to it. And what was the reaction? Three negative emojis and another three condescending comments. People somehow lost the ability to understand the difference between explanation and justification. Now to your job suggestion: Western media in general is more or less following mainstream, where certain countries cannot be criticised, no matter which atrocities they commit, no matter for how long they do it and no matter how many human rights organisations plus the UN oppose them while others are continuously damned for atrocities committed in a single day. And they developed their own language when it comes to reporting, where certain people are “murdered by terrorists” while others somehow “lost their lives” (NEWSPEAK) Despite it is becoming more and more difficult, mostly because of the pressure from society, I still try it to only look at the facts and use my own brain to form my own opinion and not let others do the thinking for me. Expressing that opinion which would have led to an interesting conversation in the past will today result in being put in the same pigeonhole as terrorists or being cancelled for THOUGHTCRIME. I would not last a day.

Where is that? sounds interesting. Because every time my now ex-wife had been talking to some of her fellow Thai countrywomen later we had a fight.

So did the Christians. Women within Christian communities, including in Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania, do undergo FGM most of them being Coptic or Orthodox Christians but also Protestants and Catholics (in Sudan and Kenya). A 2013 UNICEF report identified 55 % of Christian women in Niger had experienced it, against 2% of Muslim women. In Europe the Skoptsy Christian sect practices FGM as part of redemption. Does that also say a lot? I, being a medic, despise it. It is a mutilation, has no health benefits but only risks including severe bleeding or infections which even might be lethal. But I don't understand why this point is being brought up every time there is a discussion about Islam. Christianity has had its own share of atrocities: The mass murder of more than 130 million Native Americans, 2 world wars, the Holocaust, just to mention a few and if that is too much in the past, just compare the number of deaths from the conflicts in the last quarter century. And we call them terrorists! Religions do not kill innocents. People do.

As does almost every main teligion Only when the first wife agrees to the second and both of them agree to the Third and so on, if they don't, there will be no further marriages. Plus they have to be treated exactly the same. However, I am not saying it does not happen but it is not really common. This is a horrible thing but it has nothing to do with Islam. It was custom with some tribes in Northern Africa who brought this barbaric mutilation into the religion. Same as the Christmas tree was somehow brought into Christianity. It is safe to say that Jesus never saw one. Again, this unfortunately happens but not very often, as a family must be extremely desperate to push their own daughter in such a marriage Well, I wouldn't want to do that either but a few converted Muslim women to whom I have talked to, told me that they actually feel relief and more freedom compared to living in the tyranny of Oppression by Western societies, where a woman is mainly judged by her looks, therefore she's expected to mutilate her body with expensive and risky surgeries, take hormones and paint fake sexual desire on her face. A point of view, that I do not necessarily share, as I love pretty women but at least I respect it as a personal choice.

U.S. Rejects Thai Claims on Lack of Uyghur Resettlement Offers
That is so hilarious. The US delivered most of the weapons and bombs which have been used in a mass murder (I don't want to use the G word some members here tend to get blood pressure problems when reading it) which is taking place since almost one and a half year and has led to almost 50,000 people, most of them women and children being unalived ( what a stupid word), the destruction of entire blocks and land robbery which is still taking place every day. And now with a straight face they seriously are criticizing Thailand for deporting a few people?? that's impudence on a whole new level

Seriously, when it comes to Israel you seem not to have much compassion for the indigenous people but at least here in Thailand, you should let Thai people have the last word on this. And I'm pretty much sure, what their answer would be in that “how to eat your food correctly” matter. “UP TO YOUUU” “I NOT CAAAARE”

Sit down and eat your food
Not really. We were discussing the conflict in Gaza and in this context, it is the truth. But you commented it out of context as if it was a general statement, which then would be wrong. However, I'm happy that we finally agree that this claim in context with the Gaza conflict is true. And you don't seem to be able to understand, that I perfectly understood, that your question was just rhetorical. Especially after I had clearly stated, that “I am always siding with the innocent and defenseless”, you post a picture showing a rejoicing perpetrator and a petrified victim and ask me if I support both people in this photo. Answering that question with a “no” as you suggested, would implement that I believe, that you are so stupid and dumb, that you did not understand my previous statement, and on top of it show my disrespect for you. But as I don't doubt your intelligence and in principle never treat people with disrespect, I did not answer in that way. Our opinions may differ vastly, but we should still treat each other with respect.

Sit down and eat your food
I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about the correct way of food intake and not actually eating. When eating you shouldn't talk at all. But there is no better time to talk about toilet issues, when we talk about those Street vendors in Thailand. Do I really have to ask question? Where do they actually go to toilet and clean themselves up after that? Ever thought about this?

Sit down and eat your food
That slogan was referring to armed conflicts. Here the facts: The number of children killed by Israel in the Gaza conflict is higher than the number of children killed in the last four years in all conflicts worldwide. And it is higher than the number of children killed within one year in any other conflict of this century. Or in the words of UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell “Gaza is once again the most dangerous place in the world to be a child”. Would it? I mean, have been sufficient. Sufficient to make you reevaluate your double standard judging in this matter? I doubt it. Keep it. Be happy with it. And don`t let me catch you complaining about double pricing in Thailand or unjust treatment when it comes to car or bike accidents, which were not your fault.

Sit down and eat your food
It cannot get obvious than that: you have clearly been brainwashed. I mean look at what I have written and compare it to what you understood: I wrote: you understood: and that despite the fact, that I had written exactly the opposite: I wrote that I will always side with the innocent and the defenseless who are attacked and you conclude that I side with both persons on your picture, the injured girl sitting frightened in the car and the guy with the gun who is clearly the reason for her being scared to death. Seriously? Someone or some institution has tampered with your critical thinking. It wouldn't surprise me, if it was that institution you think you have to side with now, aka the western media which are in full support of Israel and Zionism. Wake up!! Don't let them do the thinking for you. Don't allow them to judge for you. Respect yourself. Respect justice. Stay human. The bad guys are one both sides; don´t let any of them fool you into sympathizing with them.

They live in a state, which has never seen or treated them as one of their own but rather called them a "demographic bomb" as famously done by Benjamin Netanyahu in 2003. I know this is OT, but the sub forum, in which this subject can be discussed, seems to me like an echo chamber, were any opposing opinion disappears and despite the forum rules clearly demand it, when I sent 3 consecutive messages to the moderators asking for the reason, why they removed my posts, I never got an answer and when I asked publicly, that post was removed too without further explanation. The side I chose, and always will, is the side of the innocent and defenseless, independent if they are just partying on a festival and are killed or if they are living in an open prison and are massacred by the 10s of thousands. Any perpetrator who intentionally kills innocent women and children, independent of the victims being Jews or Arabs is an animal and does not deserve to live, not matter if he is from Gaza or Israel. And any person, who sides with a perpetrator committing such atrocities, when done to a certain people but condemns them when done to another people, is in my opinion either mental or racist and should check his pulse as there is a good chance he has no heart. Anyone who thinks I am wrong, may feel free to explain to me, why and how. In my world there is no justification and never will be, for the intentional murder of children. Period! One last comment to those, who deleted many of my posts: if I am wrong, if my moral compass is damaged, then why delete them? Why not leave them and expose me as the wrongdoer, you think I am. The truth never has to hide! But it needs to be hidden by those, who are afraid of it. "The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it." ― Flannery O'Connor May the history books have mercy on us.

A Simple Filling? Not in This Town, Mates!
Dear Bob, as much as your story is entertaining, we both know it's partially if not totally made-up. The question is how much time passed between the Spanish dentist telling you that the cavity in your tooth is not urgent and the day you walked into that clinic in Thailand. So how much did you Fast forward? Several months or even years? No dentist will give you 5 injections In a row; he will always ask for the numbness after the first one and if it does not happen within 5 minutes, then and only then give you another one and if it's really necessary even a third one but that's it as there is a limit to how much you can inject in a certain area. If you really got five of them, there is a high chance that it was you that farted, as with that amount it is inevitable that some of it gets into the bloodstream and turns other areas numb - in your case unfortunately the sphincter muscle. There is absolutely no way that you paid 55.700 Baht,- for a tooth extraction. Even in case of a complicated surgery with cutting the alveolar bone and removing the tooth piece by piece and done so in the most expensive hospitals in Thailand it would not cost even 10% of the price you named. I know what I'm talking about. I am in the same profession like the lady, who tortured you, and by now for more than 35 years. And as much as you are suffering from a very vivid fantasy my curse is my helper syndrome, which will benefit you right now. this is no joke and nothing but a pure professional advice: aside from alcohol and tobacco and physical activity there are some foods, that you should avoid at least a few days after your surgery: coffee, tea and yes, dairy products so stop those milkshakes. Most importantly, COOL that area. Take 2 small hand towels, put one on your cheek, where the tooth has been pulled out and the other one in your fridge and exchange them every 30 minutes. Most patients underestimate but this is the best thing you can do to avoid a hamster face Get well soon! And by the way, it was most likely not your tooth, who betrayed you but rather you betrayed your tooth. Treat the remaining better by visiting the dentist in time. Never forget. You have only one set of teeth for all your life. Sharks can grow teeth back - we can't. Before I forget it. If the sign outside that dental clinic looked anything like that, it wasn`t one and there is a high chance, there might be another reason for that fart.

Sit down and eat your food
As you are the thread starter I guess it is ok to answer to your ot comments: You and I live in completely different worlds with totally different realities. Privileged? Since more than a year they are being “unalived” by the 10s of thousands. Entitled? To what? To own the land, they have been living on for generations and which has been taken from them, without ever asking them, and it's still being taken from them right now. Would you act differently? Which side is the one being funded with billions? Which side is the one with the well trained army and equipped with the best and most modern weapons, you can get Let alone tanks, fighter jets, 2000 pound bombs, bunker breakers, you name it and is supported with data from satellites, western Secret Services and even Google. And which one is the site with AK-40 sevens and outdated missiles, which hardly hit any target. You call that mass funding? The mass world support is not because they are fighting against Jews it is because they are fighting for justice. Justice in terms of the UN partition plan of 1948 which granted both people a state but only one people proclaimed their state and since then did everything to prevent the other people from getting theirs. These are historical facts. I'm not making that up. If anyone is entitled, then those people who claim a land, which they had left 2000 years ago, and now claim to have the exclusive right to live there as it was promised to them by their God justifying it with some ancient book. It is historically proven that both people have been living peacefully side by side together with the third group, I call them the strange people, as their most used sign is the cross on which their beloved prophet was killed in a horrific way. Sure, there have been wars and the rulers changed but most conflicts were between the watermelon and the strange people, while both sides never had issues with the chosen people, because you could only be born as one as your mother had to be a chosen person but not be recruited and therefore posed no threat or competition to the beliefs of the others, which one could convert to or from. The since then never ending war started when the chosen people started moving back back to the land of their ancestors about 100 years ago, were now the watermelon people were living for centuries, raising their numbers from 3% to 30% of the population within less than 3 decades and then taking more than 50% of the land and proclaiming an exclusively chosen people state. The basic law of the chosen state says: “the state of I. is the national home of the J. people in which it fulfils its …. right to self determination. The state will ensure the safety of the J. people … due to the fact of their J.ness. The state views the development of J. settlement as national value and will act to encourage and promote its establishment and consolidation.” I was never good in history and until last year didn't know much about the watermelon-chosen conflict, because almost every year one could see some news reporting something about it and after a few days it was over. But this time the whole conflict took more than a year and the world started taking notice and was shocked. And a horror once seen cannot be made unseen. Again, I am not siding with one people and to be honest, having met people from both the chosen and the watermelon people I always got along much better with the chosen people, as they are usually very friendly, open minded, intelligent and well educated. But I refuse, and always will refuse, to rightfully condemn the heinous atrocities done to one people within one day and then be silent when the other people are brutalised in the same way for more than a year. And from my point of view everyone, no matter on which side, who supports any kind of aggression or harm being done to the other side, is a hopeless idiot and imbecile, because that's what they have been doing for the last 7 decades and where did it get them to? If they would have spent just a fraction of that money they spent for their weapons to support the fair creation of two states where both people can live and thrive without fear side by side, all those atrocities on both sides would never have happened. Because a person, who is living a prosperous life in peace, harmony and safety for him and his family will hardly be convinced to pick up a weapon, start a war and by doing so risking all he has.

Why is that? If you criticize the behavior of foreigners, I would call it freedom of speech and not hate speech. I live and work in Thailand and yes, I do criticize foreigners but mostly those foreigners coming from Western countries same as me, and as I enjoy the hospitality of Thailand every day, I don't want to be put in the same pigeonhole with them. Just to name a few examples: “Look at this underdeveloped Asians. They put toilet paper on the dinner table.” No, they don't, it is just paper on a roll. Just because you narrow sighted imbecile are using it in the toilet, doesn't mean you can't use it otherwise. “I know everything about Thailand. Thai people are all racist. They're looking down at us. They say “Khun Thai” but never “Khun Farang” just “Farang”. First of all, Pattaya or Phuket are not Thailand and obviously you don't even have basic language skills, let alone hearing abilities. The word “Khun” means Mr. or Ms. and same as in our language is placed before a name, when you politely address someone. “Khon” just means human or person and if followed by an adjective, gives us more information about that person for example about his nationality but other than us, who would say the American, Thai people refer to nationalities by saying “Person + nationality” therefore depending on where you`re from you might be the “Khon America”. The word Farang is not an adjective but substantive and already includes the information that it is referring to a person (who comes from a western country) so no “Khon” needed. It is just embarrassing to see so many shirtless Farangs walking through cities just as if they are walking next to a beach and more than one time locals asked me out of curiosity “you guys are so rich, you can afford expensive hotels, restaurants let alone your flight tickets. How come some of you cannot even afford a shirt.” A professor from Chulalongkorn university visited me with his family a few years ago and I took them out for dinner at the Glass House. Before we drove out of Pattaya his 15 year old daughter was thirsty so I stopped in front of a 7-11 and she jumped out to get some drink. Later she told me about an elderly Farang, who had approached her in that 7-11 and had asked her something and despite her English was excellent and she could clearly understand the words, she did not understand what he wanted. “What did he say?” I asked “500,- Baht, short time, ok?” “WTF!!” Unfortunately or maybe even fortunately we had been halfway to the restaurant already otherwise … Let's just say I had some issues with comments I had posted in that area and what happened to them and never got an answer when asking for the reason Today I asked openly. Now that's a very odd question. The watermelon people have been and are treated differently to the chosen people by the western world, which includes - no offence - you as well, as I have read your posts in that sub forum. Are you sure that you are holding the same standard when judging the actions of those two opponents? Would you judge in the same way, if the actual conflict was between let's say two African countries? I doubt it. However, my opinion opposes yours in that matter and when you look at the votes in the UN General Assembly, it is always 10 times more countries voting against the chosen people than in favor of it, so it is safe to say, I am not alone. Nevertheless, I had the impression that any kind of productive discussion is not possible and at least to me it looks like that sub forum is just an echo chamber permanently reflecting the opinion of a few and I, probably not being the smartest, needed some time to realize that. There is a good chance, this will be my last post in here and I will share the fate of those posts I mentioned. In that case, all the best to you and may the history books have mercy with us.

Ok, THAT is something I would even agree to and unfortunately not the only misbehavior. Even in the immigration you see things like "no shirt - no service". Just embarrassing. In your OP you did not clarify which people you are referring to. Really, even if they came from the "watermelon country" somewhere between "the river and the sea"? 🤐

Sit down and eat your food
I don't but not because I think it's rude. It's just simply unhealthy as when walking you normally need a bit more oxygen compared to sitting and might end up swallowing some of the air or not chewing properly which both is not very good for the stomach. Have you ever been to one of those festivals which are taking place almost every weekend in Pattaya or anywhere else and seen all those takeaways and snack bars? There are hundreds of them. And how many tables and chairs are there? Your demand would put all of them out of business. That being said, it is such a typical Westerner thing to go into foreign countries and tell people how to act while they never would accept any foreigners coming to their countries and telling them what to do. THAT is rude to me This originates from the inner attitude some westerners still have, that their country is so great and their society, their beliefs and their way of life is superior to any other on this planet. They fail to self- reflect for example by asking themselves the question, if so why would I bother coming here? They fail to understand why they perceive the people here as friendly and welcoming (because subconsciously they compare them to the place they come from). So they keep telling people how to act not realizing that by doing so they might one day turn this place into something similar to their home, the place they left for holidays or to live in a better place, which then they would dislike. But as long as they do it in a forum like this where just a few people might read it and way fewer people if any might act on it, people like me who love Thailand the way it is can rest assured. Buddy, you just made my day, because I actually do.

Is It Just Me, Or Are Thai Staff Getting Ruder By The Day?
Look, I have read quite a few posts from you, especially in the political sub forums and I think you are one of the most reasonable members in here, so I'm not trying to oppose or criticize you and maybe I'm just missing something. But in the recent years when they started with that TM 30 thing Hotel receptions must see your passport and check your legal stay in the country so they can complete TM 30 by presenting your data to the local immigration, which they must do by law within 24 hours. Some hotels might not be very serious about and some might accept a copy or a photo on your smartphone but from a strict legal point of view the guy had to do that by checking your passport and that of your friend too. It does not matter who did the booking for how many people. According to law the hotel must complete a TM 30 form for each and every foreigner who wants to stay at their place. If the Foreigner refuses to present his identifications, the hotel staff actually is obliged to inform the authorities.

Is It Just Me, Or Are Thai Staff Getting Ruder By The Day?
Maybe you did, I mean insult her ancestors. You wrote that back in the day you have been treated much nicer then on this occasion and I assume that back in the day you did not speak Thai but in English to them. As much as they appreciate it, when we show respect towards their country and culture by learning the language yet there are some obstacles. Look, I speak read and write Thai and I know quite a few people who are much better than me but still I never met a person, who learned Thai after the age of 30 who would pronounce it correctly. As easy as their grammar is as difficult it is to use those five tones together with short or long vowels properly. I give you an example. In January 2020 I was invited to the international Congress of implantologist which took place in Chiang Mai. After the lectures the professors had invited me for dinner and as I had just arrived from Germany asked me how it was over there. While answering them I also mentioned that huge amount of snow, that had been falling in those few days before my flight and it is usual in our language to emphasize something by speaking the word longer than usual like "everywhere I looked every building every car everything was full of snooooow". They suddenly broke down in laughter which I didn't understand first but later that evening when some of them asked me to repeat that story especially the part about the weather and every time I did they laughed again, I got suspicious. Long story short snow in Thai is HIMA and it is very important to use a short "i" and a short "a". Change that into long vowels and snow turns into the genitals of a female horse spoken in gutter language AKA horse c***. So again maybe you did insult her ancestors.

Good dentist on Jomtien area
Never mind. Happened to me before. I don't know why. Yet, I have never heard a Thai person asking a Thai professional, who is offering his services in a foreign country, why he should choose his service over any other local service provider.
-
Good dentist on Jomtien area
You shouldn`t! If you have really been to my place, then you probably have visited my website and seen my diplomas, and therefore would know about my 35 years of job experience, about all those international professional medical societies I'm an active member of, not to mention me being a recognised expert of implantology in Germany, the US and in Thailand and as mentioned before the only foreign dentist with “a licence to drill” in Thailand. You would have noticed, I am treating patients too. Actually, I am working full time doing most cases, especially the difficult ones which require full mouth reconstruction, bone surgery or implants, while my Thai colleague, who has more than 20 years of job experience is more into tooth cleaning, periodontal treatment root canal treatment and dentures. You would have noticed that our equipment and the materials are all German products and therefore liable to the strict German laws MPL (medicine product law) and the German law for medical equipment (MedGv). Did I mention, that we offer a five year guarantee in Thailand and in Germany? I would love to go more into details but that would take too much space, will probably be boring for the other members and is most likely against the forum rules which do not allow any kind of free advertise. However, the only thing you noticed, was our German speaking receptionist. So maybe for you there is no advantage in using our clinic as you “did not see a big difference to any other clinic.”
