  1. Indeed. Some people are so smug. They don't personally have a problem yet they lack the imagination to understand that many other people legitimately do.
  2. Well I can tell you my personal experience the last time I mentioned that I was there for a retirement extension. Total deer in the headlights reaction.
  3. Any local expats here (that want it) that STILL haven't had their first dose? https://healthrisk.bangkokpattayahospital.com/rvs_covid/rvb_en_add.php
  4. That's too much pressure on the eight! Ever gone to a large live theater venue and there are eight people in the audience? Call off the show?
  5. You couldn't make this stuff up but TAT could and did.
  6. Me. Been there done that. Mazatlan Sinoloa is a wonderful destination and viewed by expats as a lower cost alternative to Puerto Vallarta.
  7. I was about to say fresh meat doesn't know too much yet but I guess that is redundant.
  8. Astra is not Mrna but it still can be used as a booster.
  9. Indeed. Flashback time. It sounded like this but didn't look like this.
  10. I'm curious about the medical implications of getting an Mrna booster after two AZ doses earlier or later than the optimal time. I think the optimal time is 6 months after the second dose. Correct me if I'm wrong. So I'm assuming 5 or 7 months later? But how about 9 months or a year later?
  11. Not the end for all. But the end for many. I do not recommend Thailand for retirement.
  12. Thanks but I was clearly joking about the audit worry and I never said I was literally audited before over a few dollars.
  13. Let's be clear here. It is Thai government policy to try to booster people that got two Sinovac doses. However it is not current Thai government policy to boost those that got two Astra doses. They have our history. Lying won't work. Hopefully that policy will change later. To add getting a third Astra dose is an effective booster too.
  14. I can picture it now. Audited for rounding up when I should have rounded down. Ridiculous of course but I do recall years ago the IRS giving me grief over a matter of a few dollars that wouldn't have changed my tax liability either way
  15. Its basically criminalization of infection. No regular tourist in their right mind would volunteer for that but I guess some at least are not in their right mind.
  16. Abandon such hope. Thailand doing draconian stuff to foreigners is not news.
  17. The rules have changed in the middle of the game. Now large bean bags that you can sit on do count as chairs. Does anyone actually have one? The 70s are calling and wants to take a picture. That said the question about whether hot dogs in a bun count as sandwiches remains undetermined.
  18. This boychik is rather young to give retirement advice, but I think this is good information. However, I think his estimates for rent in Cebu City are too low. I've been to Dumaguette and Cebu City, but I really would like to check out Tagaytay.
