  1. Foreign banks share info with the IRS without 1099s. You're right the minimum to require a 1099 from a US bank is 10 dollars but filers are still supposed to report under that.
  2. Well that bank will show up in my tax software as I import previous filings but I can delete it. I do the rounding myself rather than ever entering any cents. It seems weird to me to list a bank to report 0.
  3. Looking forward to my IRS filing for 2021 I can see one of my Thai bank accounts will have interest under 50 cents. As I round up or down all figures as is typical for tax filings I have reported one dollar before for interest over 50 cents. But I don't know what to do if its under 50 cents. If I report one dollar, thats lying. If I report 0, that's taxable interest unreported. No. Not rounding all numbers on my return is not an option. A penny for your thoughts?
  4. Why would a person need an appointment when there's instant walk in service?
  5. Are the Thai officials aware the current byzantine Thai pass scheme from hell is directly suppressing real regular tourists? I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they really don't want large numbers for the forseeable future. They can tell tourism industry people well we opened it for you, not our fault people didn't come.
  6. Can't someone find a way to contact the Thai consulate in LA and get them to explain the reason that they are posting rules different than everywhere else on the planet? Has LA gone rogue?
  7. I was recently given the come back order page during the processing, not upon passport pickup. My assumption is this policy is still in effect but I wouldn't do it without the order. They can see what happened next extension regardless.
  8. Needed to come in the next day to pick up the stamped passport
  9. I did last week. 3 minute wait to get queue number. No wait for retirement desk. Processed in 5 minutes. Of course you need time to fill out the application.
  10. My idea it seems has occurred to others. As it stands now many people are going to want or need ADVICE on the Thailand pass. Our famous American lawyer agrees calling the current Thailand pass byzantine.
  11. Yeah. Usually. But that isn't always a good thing.
  12. I'm not buying your narrative. I think suggesting Greta is a puppet is a vile right wing conspiracy theory transparently designed to suggest that people shouldn't listen to her. She's obviously very genuine and sincere. I speak as someone who was not famous but still a political activist starting at age 13. Yes I later slipped from my idealism as often happens when people get older, but I wasn't anyone's puppet and I don't think Greta is either.
  13. Tons of places. Just say for Thailand visa. They will be in color. DO NOT SMILE! Wear a decent shirt. If your eyes are open then accept. 100 to 150 baht.
  14. For those who are not afraid of Covid 19, maybe you should be? Of course fear without action doesn't help.
  15. Yes. I know not official. I didn't suggest that it was. The topic here is what I see as a new business opportunity for qualified experts to help people especially.older expats make sure that.if they travel from Thailand that they will be able to get back. Serious stuff.
  16. Your post sounds like you aren't responding to the video as you're talking about something entirely different.
