  1. Yes, but that has always been the case in every US presidential election since......let me think....oh? .....Only since 2016???? Probably since 1789, but all the technological inventions since then, especially now the Internet and social media, have made it much easier to do and more difficult to validate. And I don't think, even during the lead-up to our Civil War, that we've ever had such a bold-faced (and orange face) liar running as we do now.
  2. Yes, I'm afraid we're going to be deluged with false videos, photos, and stories like this one concerning the USA election!
  3. So, is this something everyone doesn't already know?
  4. I'm happy to see this, but then again, it's only Iowa. I've concluded that no matter who wins, the USA, my home country, is in great peril. If Trump wins, he'll try to implement at least some of the notorious Project 2025 agenda. That will begin to destroy the USA from within. If Harris wins, Trump supporters won't accept it and will take to the streets in a violent uprising. That will begin to destroy the USA from without. Either way, we (the USA) are, IMO, in for some very troubling times...
  5. Must remember to get back to this after the coffee has kicked in. No, coffee stimulates your brain to produce these delusions of reason and logic. If you want to reduce or temporarily cease them, try sitting (zazen).
  6. That's funny, but it reminds me of other US English words that are now "outlawed." One of them is "queer." Queer is such a wonderful word. The way it's spelled looks queer, and I'd like to use it more. But, of course, like many other words, such as "gay," most people associate it with something it was never intended to describe.
  7. Many times, I think. I've said I've already voted now for the nth+1 time!
  8. No! I only voted once, despite what all the Trump supporters may want to believe!
  9. That is another good reason why I don't like women or men with tattoos.
  10. That's another good indicator of IQ, I agree.
  11. I do have a blank canvas, at least no tattoos. I believe I have a very good understanding of I.Q., intelligence quotation. It is a number representing someone's ability to reason. Reasoning is a delusive activity of our intellect. Its purpose is to make us believe we understand reality, which is complete chaos. Reasoning has practical uses, but its purpose is to delude us into believing understand and are in control of our lives and the universe, which we certainly are not.
  12. I have a very good understanding of the scientific process. I have a BSc and have read many textbooks on science. I define a "religion" as a "system of belief based on faith." Science is based on our faith in logic, reason, cause-and-effect, the existence of separate entities, and the passage of time, just to name just a few. I call these the doctrines and dogmas of the religion of science, All of these are delusions (concepts) created by the "diety" the religion of science worships - the human intellect. None of these things exist in reality. There is no "someday" if you're referring to the future. There is only now.
  13. No, both socialism and communism would have to have governments. Democracies would be my choice for both. As for capitalism, I think our plutocracy is about right.
  14. I don't have any specific examples to share with you. And although I'm an atheist, communism is exactly what the myths of Jesus's disciples had in the Bible.I see communism as more of a goal, and see socialism as probably as close as we (humans) could get. But to answer your question, from what I know of the communities of the American Indian, I'd think their tribes were socialistic and very close to communism.
  15. Ah, ha! We haven't talked about "the authority" (the government) yet. We've only been talking about the economy, If you want to talk about the different types of governments and how they would work with the different types of economies, I'll do that with you,
  16. Not exactly... Under communism, everyone has the same rights. Anyone can stay wherever they want. Women don't belong to any one man (like in our society). They are free to "bang" whomever they want. Children are raised in collectives. No one HAS to work, but everyone can work at whatever they want.
  17. Yes,it's all about the emphasis on "me" and "we." Socialism is not about compelling others to do things against their will. Socialism is about allowing others to do what they want without forfeiting the fulfillment of their needs. And is worked well, didn't it?
