  1. I’m concerned about incorrect term usage because I’m very involved in the usage of the English language. I have a BA in English, am an online editor, and have authored 10 books. I know most people would interpret "antisemitism" as only referring to Jews, just as I know that if someone is labeled a "racist,' it only refers to racism one way, never the opposite way. I’m not a JEW HATER, nor an Arab hater, although I do hate what some Jews and some Arabs do from time to time.
  2. All that may be true, but Montana is a Red State (Republican), so that immediately takes it off my list.
  3. I loved your post, but I would believe the sentence above should be aimed at those who have restricted the meaning of the word "antisemitic" to only refer to Jews. The word obviously should refer to all Semites: Jews and Arabs.
  4. I've had a Pink Card for over 5 years now. I use it for identification in places that ask for my passport. Sometimes, but not always, my Pink Card is sufficient for them.
  5. According to the online Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of "woke" is: ...chiefly US slang : aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice) I agree with that definition.
  6. I’m okay with this in general, as long as there are also rules that: Allow transgender women to compete in men’s sports; Forbid transgender men from competing in men’s sports; Allow transgender men to compete in women’s sports.
  7. The category "Semites" includes both Jews and Arabs. The prefix "anti" means against. So, "anti-Semite" means "against all Semites, which includes both Jews and Arabs." I will recognize that "antisemite," as opposed to "anti-Semite," does, today, refer only to being "anti-Jewish," but I refuse to allow the Jews to take over that term by driving the Arabs out of it, like they are doing in Palestine. So, I am neither anti-Semitic nor antisemitic; I am anti-Zionist.
  8. I don't care what flights cost. I've lived here for about 25 years, and I am 80 now. I never intend to return to my home country (USA).
  9. Curiosity brought me here. At that time, I was planning on moving to Brazil to retire, but I took the opportunity to visit a friend who was living in Koh Samui, and I liked it so much that I decided to retire here. Since then, I've moved from Koh Samui to up in the jungle-filled mountains near Phetchabun. What keeps me here is the beauty of where I live, and, of course, the lower cost of living.
  10. Elon Musk has to be included on this list also... 😡
  11. I don't plan on relocating anywhere else. I've been here (Thailand) for about 25 years now, and still love it. However, if something changed here, and I thought I ought to move, my "Plan B' is moving to somewhere in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, which are the islands that curve upward from the bottom of Alaska towards Russia. I think they would be a good place to be as Global Warming intensifies, and I like the idea of living somewhere in the woods.
  12. What? Was someone assaulted in a bar in Pattaya? Who would have ever guessed that could happen?
  13. What??!! Someone fell from a balcony in Pattaya? Who would have guessed that could happen?
  14. "In Praise of AN"... what? What is it you are praising? I know whatever it is, its name starts with a vowel, but other than that, I have no idea...
  15. I have no regrets... ❤️
  16. I first came to Thailand over 20 years ago to do some IT contract work for Bangkok Bank. At that time, I was planning to retire to Brazil. After I finished my work at Bangkok Bank after only a few months, I visited a friend of mine who lived in Koh Samui. While I was there, I liked it so much that I decided to retire there rather than in Brazil. Soon, I met a Thai woman I liked a lot, got married, and moved up to her family's property in the mountains outside of Phetchabun. There, I had two houses built, one of her mother and father, and one for us, and have lived there ever since.
  17. I've primarily used Lazada for online purposes for well over 10 years. My second-place online store is Shoppee. I've never had any problems with Lazada, including returning items for a refund. I'm sure if you contact them and say that this product was never delivered, they will work it out with you either by sending you another product or a complete refund.
  18. Several other words would be "vengeful," "assertive," and "successful."
  19. Yeah ok.. What recreational substances do you partake in ? Psychedelic sassafras, hallucinogenic huckleberry, and, of course, AseanNow Forums. 😁
  20. I created that term in response to someone using the word "tranny," which is short for "transition." In this case, it means the person shown in the photos was first a man and then transitioned to a female. So, I made up the term "consisty," which means "consistent,” or has always been a female. 😉
  21. From the photos shown, I noticed two things. The first is that he was not naked; he had on running shorts. The second is that, with his build, he is obviously an athlete and was probably just out running down the road for exercise.
