  1. Hmmm, I thought that the enforcement of the tax laws, thus affecting expats, was going towards funding this project? What's next I wonder.
  2. I am not going to comment on gun laws etc. because I'm not American. 22 lives lost and many injured is so very sad. I cannot understand what makes an individual decide to massacre people going about their daily routine. My sympathy to the families.
  3. Get well soon. ฿6350 seems a lot less than I would have thought for treatment these days.
  4. Wow, that tunic-like wear looks heavy but very decorative. Nothing to suggest that they are hurting anyone...Best of luck to them.
  5. Schweppes UK no longer exists so I would think the product was canned in Australia. Either the seaming machine, probably 12 heads, had one or two faulty heads or some of the lids lacked the thin layer of artificial rubber compound under the seam edge. Schweppes QC usually find the former when they check cans numbered according to the machine heads and if faulty seams are found the batch is quarantined. The latter is more difficult because packs of lids containing faults are down to the can/lid producer who have their own QC program. If one wants to return this complaint to the shop, take pictures of the any contaminated storage area before removal. Don't touch with the bare hands as the fungal/yeast growth can be easily be transmitted to other food items. Contacting the address printed on the cans may be better than taking back to the shop as you will get instructions on how to return items (lids and cans will different ID marks and of course different to the canning date) and you are more likely to receive a larger replacement voucher than a shop will give.
  6. I sincerely hope this guy is telling the truth and that all hostages are safe. If they are not then the Israeli retaliation will probably get the blame. In part, I suppose the insufficient Israeli security in the first place should shoulder some responsibility...but I am certainly not qualified to argue the point. I cannot imagine the level of fear in such a situation.
  7. Eerie notions filled with fright staying in that mansion for just one night. someone might for a hundred quid and test the vengeance of their very own Id 😈
  8. 100 Thais from one area? Not worth the fuss.
  9. Yeah, like the Banks too. When I go there I have to put a jacket on 🙂
  10. At 10.30 pm the event will be just above the horizon. But the shower is expected throughout the night so it may be that if you are out and about from about 2.30 am Sunday, and if sky is clear, glance upward and you might see a 'flash or two' (apart from any other 'flashes' you might have in mind🙂).
  11. Quite. And in addition there has to be motivation too. Perhaps the private sector might benefit, such as hotel staff, restaurants etc.
  12. I wonder if that was the basis of the argument?...I mean, taking her husband's passport is quite serious when n another country.
  13. Another reason for the Thai gov. to sit on the fence?
  14. 'But I was just giving realist facts .' What facts? More like statistics from somewhere and stats aren't facts.
  15. So it seems to be dependent on the definition of 'Thai Tax Resident'. Okay, Thank you.
  16. Maybe someone has already mentioned this. Does, or will, the money in the bank method for yearly extensions be considered as 'savings'?
