YouGov Complex Start to Labour’s New Era in 2025 Public Opinion
The Cyclist replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The damage caused by the Labour budget of October 2024. The full effects will not be felt until April, when the 1. Rise in minimum wage kicks in. 2. The rise in employer NI kicks in 3. The reduction in NI threshold from £9000 down to £5000 kicks in. And people start losing their jobs, and the double whammy of less tax reciepts and more welfare benefit payments kick in. Its not rocket science or hard to work out. Unless you are Rachel from Customer Complains -
YouGov Complex Start to Labour’s New Era in 2025 Public Opinion
The Cyclist replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Starmer & Reeves will be gone by June at the latest. Streeting and Rayner are already positioning themselves. It will be too little too late. The damage will have been done and will be irreversable. IMF bailout to follow. -

Reform UK Surpasses Conservative Party Membership in Landmark Shift
The Cyclist replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I think a couple of posters need to park Utopia and start facing reality Just like I said on the previous couple of pages. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/jan/02/uk-factory-output-falls-at-fastest-rate-since-february-amid-tax-rise-fears As for the actual thread, Membership is still rising -
It was covered up in the 90''s The current taskforce was set up only 2 years ago, and have arrested over 500. That you are trying to put forward deflection and obfuscation over this National Shame. Speaks volumes about you. Are you going to come charging out the blocks and say that this is fake news ? Or are you going to revert to type, and claim that it is a personal attack on you ?

Why is Musk on the warpath These are just some of the gangs convicted, not the full list. Under the current Taskforce, a further 500 individuals have been arrested. The current Government will not allow a National Inquiry into this sick scandal, as Labour are neck deep in the cover up. Any right minded individual should be going nuts at what has happened here.

Keir Starmer and Elon Musk Clash Over UK Investment and Policies
The Cyclist replied to Social Media's topic in World News
6 months in and its all falling apart for Starmer https://www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/article/twenty-labour-councillors-quit-over-keir-starmers-policies-knz6hcrs8 Starmer is a liar, incompetent, and makes turnips look like MENSA members. -
As I said before. There will be many, many expat retirees who legitimately have no reason to file a tax return. There might also be a large number of retiree expats who might have to file a tax return but have no tax liability. So the tax clearance certificate for extension purposes, would not work in theory, and it is not something that I have I seen mentioned from any other source, other than a couple of posters on here. Whilst it could be something that is introduced, they would also have to introduce something that covers the people mentioned above. Therefore it is not something that I envision happening until such times as they make a decision and then impliment worldwide taxation at some time in the future / if ever.

I have no horror stories to recite over Immigration. My single visit to the RD Office was polite and rather easy. I would take all my paperwork, a box of doughnuts, puppy dog eyes, a Thai speaker if needed and simply ask for assistance. I'm sure someone would assist you, rather than paying 15k baht or so, to an accountant.

Yes, its a possiblity, but unconnected. You remit 65k a month for immigration purposes and put aside 1k* a month for tax purposes. * Or whatever figure you deem neccessary to cover your potential tax bill. I'm not really getting why anyone would would struggle with that concept. -

I said right from the start that this was going to resemble Immigration, different offices, probably doing different things. So for every utterance of " What we lnow so far " was a joke then, is a joke today, and reality will not be known until people rock up at their RD and go from there. The only picture I understand is my own, I wont be filing 😀😀 -

For anyone using the income method. Immigration do not care what that money is spent on. Dancing ladies, alcohol, rent boys or the Thai Taxman is of no concern to Immigration. Which may, or may not change at some point in the future. -
The posted picture tells you what part she played in it. Every single banner waver, facilitator, Yuman Rites Parasite, so called Charities and other useful idiots are complicit in every single crime these vile creatures commit, From murder, rape, drug gangs and petty crimes. Everyone of them can own it. Perhaps if the Home Secretary of the day Jacqui Smith had jumped from a great height on the Sangatte camps in the 90's, this would not be happening.

If you listen carefully to Mr Hart, in the video above, and the one below, posted on internet 3 hours ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N754HjfStfA Mr Hart is still confusing 2 things, Joining OECD and CRS, which Thailand joined, by Royal Degree, on 31 March 2023. -

Actually you were correct, you just fell apart a bit trying to explain it. Stop dring half bottles of beer, drink the whole bottle 😀😀 Thai's who stay in Thailand less than 180 in a tax year are still tax resident for income earned in Thailand. -
These 2 articles in the Tory Supporting Guardian highlight exactly why this Policy needs needs to be halted, especially when it comes to SEND kids. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/dec/23/send-children-special-educational-needs-disabilities-anne-longfield https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/dec/29/children-special-needs-councils-labour-send The State Education system particularly for SEND pupils is in tatters. Forcing more SEND pupils from the Private Sector into the State Sector is madness. Then there is the financial madness impact. Lets potentially raise £1.8 Billion in VAT, whilst spending about £5 Billion to raise that potential £1.8 Billion. Labour in a nutshell. Clueless, incompetent and making a field of turnips look like a field of MENSA members.

Looming Crisis: Private Schools Face Closures Amid VAT Hike
The Cyclist replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I can see this Policy being overturned in Court. As you will see in one of the 2 following links from the Guardian, The Courts tend to come down on the side of SEND families. It highlights the futility ( and utter madness ) of potentially raising £1.8 Billion a year in VAT revenue whilst spending an estimated £5 Billion a year in additional teachers. It is Government writ large, spend £1000 to save £100. Madness. These 2 articles highlight, the problems with SEND pupils in the State School system, without adding additional SEND pupils due to a VAT raid that many will not be able to afford. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/dec/23/send-children-special-educational-needs-disabilities-anne-longfield https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/dec/29/children-special-needs-councils-labour-send The last paragraph in the 2nd article sums the Labour Government up in a nutshell There is a current teacher shortage, retention is bad and the plan to recruit an additional 6500 teachers over the course of this Parliament is laughable. Even if they managed to hit the 6500 target, this will not cover the amount that leaves over the same period and neither will it solve the current shortage. Interesting times ahead.
