Picture from responders. In an incident in Chai Nat province, a chicken noodle vendor succumbed to heavy drinking in an attempt to stay warm during the cold weather, collapsing and passing away inside his vehicle in the middle of a busy road. His distraught wife, upon arriving at the scene, was overcome with grief, her cries moving onlookers to tears. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chaimongkol Mueansonthi of Sapphaya Police Station, along with rescue volunteers from Ruamkatanyu Foundation and a duty doctor from Sankhaburi Hospital, rushed to the site on Highway 3010 in Huai Krot, Sankhaburi District. There, they discovered a white Ford pickup truck, registered in Bangkok, parked in the middle of the road, causing a significant traffic jam. Inside the vehicle, on the driver’s seat, lay the lifeless body of Mr. Burapa Usaprom, 44, a resident of Sapphaya District. He was wearing an apron and slumped against an empty bottle of homemade liquor. In the back of the truck were multiple bags containing chicken parts, such as legs, wings, and feet, alongside fresh vegetables, supplies he had purchased for his noodle business. According to preliminary findings, it is believed the deceased suffered from alcohol poisoning, leading to a fatal heart failure. The body has been sent to the forensic institute at Sawanpracharak Hospital in Nakhon Sawan for further investigation into the exact cause of death. Reports reveal that Mr. Burapa was a chicken noodle vendor who purchased supplies every morning to prepare for his daily business. Known to be a heavy drinker, he consumed alcohol throughout the day, particularly during the cold season, when he frequently sipped to stay warm. On the day prior to his death, he reportedly consumed three to four bottles of alcohol by himself. He continued drinking heavily the following morning, ultimately leading to the fatal collapse. The scene became even more heartrending when his wife arrived, wailing uncontrollably and drawing sympathy from bystanders who watched the devastating loss unfold. -- 2024-12-23

Picture from responders. At approximately 06:00 on December 22, a crash occurred on Mittraphap Road near kilometre marker 67 in front of the Wardog Military Dog Battalion in Nong Sarai, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima. A truck carrying rice overturned after crashing into a large road sign, resulting in one fatality and serious injuries to the driver. Police from Nong Sarai Police Station, led by Pol Col Suphachai Viboonsuksan, along with traffic police, highway patrol officers, rescue workers from Sawang Witthaya Thammasathan Foundation, and crane operators, rushed to the scene following the report. The crash involved an 18-wheeler Nissan truck, which had collided with a large directional sign, causing the truck to overturn. The impact detached the container loaded with rice, scattering its contents and partially crushing the truck’s cab and dislodging the CNG cylinders. Fortunately, no explosion occurred, as authorities quickly sprayed water to disperse any leak and cool the cylinders to prevent potential combustion. The truck driver, identified as 30-year-old Mr Phongsak sustained severe injuries, including the amputation of one of his hands at the wrist and deep lacerations to his leg. A female passenger, identified as Ms Nattanun, was crushed under the detached container. Despite rescue efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. According to Pol Lt Col Boonlai Chaitip, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), preliminary investigations suggest the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The truck was transporting rice from the northeastern region towards Saraburi when the incident occurred. The vehicle lost control, veering into the road sign before overturning and dislodging the heavily loaded container. The crash caused significant damage, including the destruction of government property. Authorities have stated that further investigation will be conducted to determine the exact cause and take appropriate legal action against the driver. -- 2024-12-23

Picture captured from CCTV. A 16-year-old driver miraculously survived after losing control of his Mercedes, which launched into the back of a six-wheeled truck in Nonthaburi. The incident occurred at approximately 23:55 on 21 December on Nakhon In Road, heading inbound near the Tiwanon intersection in Talad Khwan subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi. Police from Mueang Nonthaburi Station arrived at the scene to find a black Mercedes-Benz E 200, registered in Bangkok, severely damaged and perched on the back of a brown Isuzu six-wheeler. The truck, registered in Samut Prakan, belonged to an underground electrical wiring project working in the area. Eyewitnesses, including workers and locals, quickly rescued the occupants of the Mercedes, a teenage boy and girl, aged around 16 and 17. Remarkably, neither suffered any injuries. Mr Noi, a 51-year-old worker from the wiring project, recounted the incident: “I was monitoring the generator we use to light the site and manage traffic signals. While walking to inform my supervisor about refuelling the generator, I heard the sound of screeching brakes. Moments later, the Mercedes lost control, spun, collided with the generator, and launched onto the truck. I immediately called for help.” CCTV footage captured the shocking moment at 23:54. The Mercedes was travelling in the right lane behind a taxi before swerving left, hitting the generator, and crashing onto the stationary truck. Police reported no injuries but noted damage to the site’s equipment and nearby highway signage. Following the incident, the parents of the two teenagers arrived at the scene and escorted them away. -- 2024-12-22

Picture from responders. A violent scene unfolded in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, after a 59-year-old pickup truck driver lost control of his vehicle, killing a 31-year-old postal worker who was delivering parcels. The incident occurred at 16:30 on 21 December on Thepharak Road, near Bang Pla Soi 63. Police Lieutenant Jirasupang, investigating officer from Bang Phli Police Station, responded to the incident along with emergency responders and medical personnel from Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital. At the scene, authorities found a white Mazda pickup truck with severe front-end damage. The victim, Mr. Panthakan Wongsilasillaporn, a 31-year-old postal worker from Bang Phli Post Office, was trapped lifeless under the vehicle. Nearby, a red-and-black motorcycle, with registration number from Bangkok, was found badly damaged, along with two other motorcycles and a white Isuzu pickup truck, also damaged in the crash. According to reports, the victim had been delivering a parcel moments before the accident. A coffee shop vendor, Ms. Jurarat, witnessed the event and said the postman had parked his motorcycle, making a call to a customer, when the white pickup truck struck him. “I heard a loud crash and saw the motorcycle and the rider pinned against the truck’s front,” she recounted, adding that she immediately alerted the authorities. The driver of the white Mazda, Mr. Suraphop Pleesumthong, claimed he had been returning to his residence and lost control of his vehicle when another car cut in front of him. He swerved to avoid a collision, causing his truck to veer into parked vehicles on the roadside, including the victim’s motorcycle. Tensions escalated at the scene when friends and relatives of the deceased arrived, outraged by the driver’s actions. They attacked Mr. Suraphop, causing injuries. Police officers and foundation rescue workers intervened to stop the assault but were caught in the chaos and injured themselves. The driver was eventually escorted to Bang Phli Police Station for further questioning. Authorities are investigating the case, while the victim’s body was sent to Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital for an autopsy. -- 2024-12-22

Pictures and video from CCTV. A dramatic incident unfolded on December 21, at a cockfighting arena in Nakhon Pathom, where a group of five armed men fired shots into the air, causing panic among spectators. The incident occurred at Por Bang Len Cockfighting Arena in Bang Len Subdistrict, Bang Len District, after a high-stakes match involving a bet of 500,000 baht. Witnesses reported that the men, believed to be from a prominent cockfighting camp in Ratchaburi, became agitated when their rooster lost the fight. After the match, the group began walking toward the arena’s exit, prompting the arena manager to approach and instruct them to return to the venue. An argument ensued, escalating into a physical confrontation. The group then drew firearms and fired multiple shots into the air, sending spectators scrambling for cover. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as people fled in fear, though no one inside the arena was directly targeted. One spectator recounted the terrifying moments, stating, “After their rooster lost, they seemed upset but initially left calmly. It wasn’t until the arena manager intervened that things spiraled out of control. When the shots were fired, everyone ran for their lives.” Spent shell casings were found scattered near the scene, evidence of the group’s attempt to “clear a path” as they left the arena. The men reportedly departed in a vehicle shortly after the incident. Initial investigations revealed that the group is affiliated with a well-known cockfighting camp in Ratchaburi. Authorities have confirmed they have identified the suspects and are pursuing further action. The incident has sparked concerns about safety and security at cockfighting arenas, particularly during high-stakes matches where emotions can run high. Local authorities have pledged to increase monitoring and enforce stricter regulations to prevent similar occurrences in the future. -- 2024-12-22 My Movie.mp4

Man Burned After Attempting to Replace Gas Cylinder at Home A 50-year-old man suffered multiple burns after a gas leak ignited while he was cooking at his home in Samut Prakan. Picture from responders. A 50-year-old man suffered multiple burns after a gas leak ignited while he was cooking at his home in Samut Prakan. The incident occurred in a two-storey townhouse in Phase 4 of the Fueng Fa 15 housing estate in Phraeksa Mai Subdistrict, Mueang District. Emergency responders from the Phraeksa Mai Municipality Rescue Unit arrived at the scene on the evening of December 21, after being alerted by the Samut Prakan Hospital Emergency Centre. They found the injured man sitting outside his home, awaiting assistance. He had sustained extensive burns to both legs, arms, and parts of his torso. First aid was administered, with saline-soaked gauze applied to his wounds to ease the pain before he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Inside the kitchen, there was no significant damage from the explosion. However, responders discovered the charred remnants of a broom, which the victim had apparently used in a desperate attempt to extinguish the flames on the gas cylinder. The injured man explained that he had been cooking when the incident occurred. After igniting the stove, flames unexpectedly erupted, setting his clothes on fire and spreading back to the gas cylinder. He quickly managed to extinguish the flames and shut off the gas valve. He revealed that the gas had run out earlier, prompting him to order a new cylinder, which he replaced himself, a task usually performed by the delivery personnel. He noted that he did not smell any gas leaking before the incident. The man’s wife shared that her husband runs a food delivery service, cooking made-to-order meals for customers in the neighbourhood. She said the gas had run out earlier that evening, and her husband had called for a replacement. “Usually, we let the delivery staff replace the gas cylinder, but for some reason, my husband decided to do it himself this time,” she said. “He had already cooked one meal, but as he lit the stove for the second dish, the flames erupted. I’m not sure if the gas hose was leaking or if the valve wasn’t secured properly during the replacement.” -- 2024-12-22

Pictures from responders. A fire broke out at a foam container factory in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, threatening to engulf the entire premises before firefighters managed to bring it under control. The incident occurred at a large single-storey factory spanning over four rai in Moo 19, Soi Rattanachoti 6, Bang Phli Yai Subdistrict. The factory produces foam containers and freeze-dried durian for export. Pol. Capt. Thanit Kitpruk, an investigator at Bang Phli Police Station, received the emergency report on the afternoon on December 21 and immediately dispatched over ten fire engines from Bang Phli Yai Subdistrict Municipality and nearby areas to the scene. Rescue personnel from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation also arrived to assist. Upon arrival, firefighters found the blaze raging at the rear of the factory, where foam production equipment, foam rolls, and sacks of foam pellets were stored. After over an hour of battling the flames, the fire was contained, but not before the roof had collapsed and extensive damage had been done to the building, machinery, and materials. Authorities cordoned off the site due to structural damage, citing safety concerns. Mr. Daeng, 50, the factory supervisor, described the layout of the facility, with foam rolling machines on the left and foam moulding machines on the right. The moulding machines use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks to heat and melt the foam. He stated that the fire started in the storage area for foam rolls but could not determine the exact cause. Mr. Boonlue, 67, an eyewitness, reported hearing crackling sounds before the fire broke out. He observed thick smoke and multiple explosions as the fire rapidly spread. He noted that the fire had been burning for almost 20 minutes before the factory owner called for assistance. Preliminary investigations by officials suggest that static electricity from the foam melting machine may have triggered the fire. However, further inspections will be conducted by factory engineering experts to assess safety risks and structural damage. Forensic specialists and related authorities will later examine the scene to determine the definitive cause of the fire. -- 2024-12-22
