While stopped at a red light, the group spotted a 25-year-old woman sitting on the railing of the bridge, sobbing uncontrollably and dangling her legs over the edge. Recognising the urgency of the situation, they immediately parked their vehicle and called the police and emergency services. Lieutenant Commander Jirasak and Petty Officer Montri positioned themselves below the bridge to engage the woman in conversation, attempting to calm her. Meanwhile, the three naval cadets, Dhanaitep Chusri, Samrit Kumwong, and Tachnucha Sontwanet, rushed onto the bridge to prepare for a potential rescue. Despite their efforts to soothe her, the woman showed no signs of calming down and appeared ready to jump. Acting quickly, Lieutenant Commander Jirasak distracted her by diverting her attention, giving the cadets a crucial moment to act. In a coordinated move, they lunged forward and pulled her back to safety, albeit with some difficulty, as she continued crying hysterically. Local residents revealed that the woman had been arguing heatedly with her foreign boyfriend over his infidelity, which had driven her to attempt suicide. Thanks to the quick thinking and teamwork of the navy personnel, the woman’s life was saved. She was handed over to authorities for further support and counselling. The crash resulted in injuries to numerous schoolchildren. Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred during school dismissal. A pickup truck modified as a school vehicle was carrying about 20 students from Pak Puan School, ranging from kindergarten to secondary school levels. The school transport vehicle had stopped at the red light, preparing to turn right into Pak Puan village. Ahead of it was a farm truck loaded with sacks of rice, also stopped at the light, while a white car was positioned behind the school vehicle. Suddenly, a truck, reportedly returning from a construction site and equipped with a lifting crane o the rear, slammed into the car, propelling it into the school vehicle. The impact pushed the school transport vehicle into the farm truck ahead, causing severe damage. Most of the students sitting in the rear of the school vehicle sustained injuries. Among them, a student suffered serious leg injuries, with one leg reported to have been torn off. Emergency responders quickly transported a total of 19 injured individuals to Wang Saphung Hospital for treatment. Police detained the truck driver for questioning and legal proceedings. The divers recovered the body after an hour of searching. The deceased was identified as Ms. Kanyanat, a resident of Non Khomint Subdistrict, Mueang District. At the scene, authorities found a blue Honda motorcycle registered in Nong Bua Lamphu parked near the bridge. A pair of white sneakers had been placed neatly beside the vehicle, with the key still in the ignition. Ms. Kanokporn, 50, the mother of the deceased, tearfully recounted that her daughter had been an outstanding student who had passed entrance exams for universities in Nakhon Ratchasima and Chiang Mai in recent years. However, the programs offered were not her daughter's preferred choice. Her dream was to study pharmacy, which prompted her to continue pursuing higher scores in the GAT/PAT exams. Earlier that morning, Ms. Kanyanat left home to attend an exam but did not return by evening. The family later received a heartbreaking report from a concerned citizen who witnessed her parking her motorcycle at the bridge before climbing over and jumping. Ms. Kanokporn revealed that her daughter had shown signs of depression and withdrawal since early 2023. Concerned for her well-being, the family sought medical advice, and Ms. Kanyanat had been receiving treatment and medication since then. Despite her struggles, she never gave any indication of planning such a tragic act. The family disclosed that the father, who works abroad, received a final message from Ms. Kanyanat shortly before the incident. A medical examination confirmed no signs of foul play, and the family expressed no suspicions regarding her death. Authorities have since released the body to the family. The grieving family hopes this tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support for those facing academic and personal pressures. Police Lieutenant Dechachat Saruna of Phra Samut Chedi Police Station was notified of the incident and arrived at the scene with Deputy Superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Sutjai Nueakoa Wai, investigative officers, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers. At the scene, located approximately 100 metres into Soi Lung Chat, officers found two injured men at a stone table in front of the store. The first victim, identified as Mr. Saktawee, 36, from Sisaket Province, had been shot in the right collarbone. The second victim, Mr. Jakkrit, 31, from Chaiyaphum Province, was shot in the left leg. Emergency responders provided first aid before transporting them to a nearby hospital. Police also recovered three .38-caliber shell casings from the road, which were taken as evidence. Witnesses reported that the assailant, a man riding pillion on a white Honda PCX motorcycle driven by a woman, fled the scene in the direction of Suk Sawat 84 Road after the shooting. Police attempted to intercept the pair but were unsuccessful. According to Mr. Saktawee, one of the injured, the group had gathered outside the store at around 22:00 for a casual drinking session following a football match. The party included himself, his girlfriend, and Mr. Jakkrit, among others. At around 13:00, the shooter and his girlfriend passed by on their motorcycle and stopped when called over by Mr. Saktawee's girlfriend. During the brief encounter, Mr. Jakkrit, who knew the shooter's girlfriend, made casual remarks and touched her arm, causing the shooter to lose his temper. The shooter slapped Mr. Jakkrit twice, prompting a verbal altercation. The woman tried to defuse the situation by leaving with the shooter. However, moments later, the couple returned, and the shooter fired multiple shots into the group, forcing everyone to flee in panic. Mr. Saktawee and Mr. Jakkrit were struck by bullets during the attack. Another witness, Mr. Wetchayan, 41, a factory worker, corroborated the account, adding that the shooter appeared enraged by the interactions between Mr. Jakkrit and his girlfriend. Police have recorded the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the suspects. Authorities have confirmed they know the identities of the assailant and his accomplice and are working to apprehend them. The incident occurred at 06:15 on December 9,in front of the Phahon Yothin Place building on Soi Phahon Yothin 8, Phahon Yothin Road, Sam Sen Nai Subdistrict, Phaya Thai District, Bangkok. The fire originated in the engine compartment of the bus, causing damage to the engine but sparing the rest of the vehicle. There was not evidence of any leak in the CNG system. Firefighters from the Phahon Yothin Fire and Rescue Station arrived promptly at the scene and successfully extinguished the flames using water misting system, from the rapid response firefighting motorcycle deployed from the station. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in the engine compartment. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident, as the bus was quickly stopped by the driver and passengers evacuated and the driver was unsuccessfully in extinguishing the fire with the fire extinguisher fitted to the bus. Upon arrival, officers found a gold coloured car, with a damaged front end parked in the far right lane, heading toward the Don Muang District Office. Nearby, a black motorcycle lay in ruins. The motorcyclist, identified as Mr. Amnat, 49, was found dead at the scene, suffering multiple injuries. The car’s driver, who sustained injuries, was rushed to Mongkutwattana Hospital by Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers prior to the authorities’ arrival. Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcyclist crossed into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the car. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the collision. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, with fire suppression teams from the Bang Saray Municipality and Kledkaew Municipality called in to contain the blaze. The fire broke out in a single-story house, specifically in the rear room. Firefighters took over 30 minutes to bring the flames under control and prevented in spreading throughout the home. The contents of the room, including clothing, cabinets, and electrical equipment, were completely destroyed, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the premises. The estimated damages is about 100,000 baht. The homeowner, identified as Ms. Wattana, 59, stood at the scene visibly shaken as she waited to provide her statement to the police. Ms. Wattana revealed that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute with her ex-husband. Earlier that day, she discovered his missing military ID card while sorting through belongings in the room. She returned the card to him through an intermediary, but this led to an argument. Her ex-husband accused her of trying to evict him from the house. During the altercation, he reportedly threatened to set the house on fire before storming into the property. Moments later, flames and smoke were seen emanating from the room, and the ex-husband fled the scene in his vehicle. At around 21:00 on December 8, Pol. Lt. Sontaya Khonsap, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a man holding a woman hostage with a firearm at a condominium in the Pattaya area, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District. He quickly reported the incident to his superiors and, along with Pol. Capt. Chainarong Jitsunthorn and a team of investigators, rushed to the scene. The suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Thepbamrung, was found waving a firearm while holding his girlfriend, 43-year-old Rungsurang, captive in a room. After a tense negotiation, the man surrendered to the authorities. Upon inspection, the firearm was revealed to be a fake, which police seized as evidence. Ms. Rungsurang informed the police that arguments with her boyfriend were common, but this incident escalated beyond what she had ever experienced. She stated that the suspect, who often resorted to violence, stabbed her leg with scissors during the altercation. Fortunately, her injuries were minor, and the police intervened before the situation worsened. A friend of the victim revealed that the suspect had been behaving erratically, possibly under the influence of alcohol. When the friend tried to intervene after hearing loud screams, the suspect allegedly pointed the gun at their head and threatened to kill anyone who got involved. Concerned for their safety, the friend immediately contacted the police. Thepbamrung was taken into custody along with the fake gun. He now faces multiple charges as police continue their investigation. Officers also uncovered that the suspect had a habit of dressing up as a police officer and claiming to work as a volunteer for the Bang Lamung Police Station. The incident occurred around 13:00 on December 8, at a tyre shop located at 726, Moo 7, Sri Maha Phot Subdistrict. Rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation responded to the scene and found the injured man, identified as Mr. Paiboon, 62, with a severe head wound and heavy bleeding. He was unconscious upon their arrival but later regained consciousness. Mr. Paiboon repeatedly attempted to remove the bandages applied by rescuers, complaining of pain. He was immediately stabilised and rushed to Chularat 304 Hospital for urgent medical treatment. CCTV footage revealed that the accident occurred while Mr. Paiboon was inflating the tyre of a 10-wheel truck. After completing the inflation, he struck the wheel rim lock with a hammer, which triggered a sudden explosion. The force of the blast caused Mr. Paiboon to be thrown back and injured. Parts of tyre rim was reportedly propelled onto the shop’s roof by the explosion. According to Mr. Wutthichai, 39, the truck’s driver, he had brought his cement truck to the shop for a tyre repair. After the repair was completed, the shop owner began inflating the tyre. Moments later, while striking the rim lock with a hammer, the tyre exploded, injuring Mr. Paiboon and sending debris flying.
