An incident of road rage unfolded on a Bangkok street when a six-wheel truck driver chased and attacked a songthaew driver, resulting in a heated altercation and injuries. The violent confrontation, partially captured on video and posted online by the page "อยากดังเดี๋ยวจัดให้ ริเทริน์ part 7" (translated as "Want to Be Famous, We'll Make It Happen, Part 7"), has sparked widespread public concern. The video shows the aftermath of the quarrel, with the post urging drivers to remain calm and considerate on the road. The caption read, "Stay cool on the road and show some courtesy. Let the law decide who's at fault." According to Ms. Benjawan, 36, the daughter of Mr. Add, the songthaew driver involved, her father was driving in the right lane when the six-wheel truck attempted to overtake him but failed. Frustrated, the truck driver tailgated aggressively, reportedly colliding with the back of the songthaew. Mr. Add stopped to confront the truck driver, warning him about the dangers of tailgating. This initial argument set the stage for the escalating violence. Later, while Mr. Add was picking up passengers, the truck returned, sideswiped the songthaew, and deliberately rammed it again before speeding off. Both vehicles eventually stopped at a red light, where the confrontation took a dangerous turn. Armed with knives, both drivers faced off. The truck driver retreated to his vehicle when confronted with Mr. Add's larger blade, but not before damaging the songthaew's windshield. The violence didn't end there. When the vehicles stopped again, the truck driver approached Mr. Add, who was sitting inside the songthaew, and slashed him with a knife, causing a wound near his eve. Mr. Add defended himself from within the vehicle and later retaliated by punching one of the truck's tyre. Mr. Add reported the incident to Lak Song Police Station. However, his family claims that investigators attempted to downplay the severity of the attack. They were reportedly encouraged to agree that Mr. Add's injury was caused by the truck tyre bursting, not a knife wound. Furthermore, police suggested treating the case as a mutual altercation rather than pursuing serious charges. Ms. Benjawan expressed frustration over the handling of the case, emphasising her father's role as the victim. She called for justice and urged authorities to investigate thoroughly. The family plans to file additional charges of attempted murder, pending medical reports, and is determined to ensure the assailant faces legal consequences. The incident has sparked outrage online, with netizens calling for stricter enforcement of road safety laws and harsher penalties for aggressive drivers. Many have expressed sympathy for Mr. Add and criticised the police for allegedly mishandling the case. As investigations continue, the family hopes their pursuit of justice will set a precedent, ensuring such violent road rage incidents are addressed with the seriousness they deserve. A fire broke out at an auto parts warehouse in Dan Chang District, Suphan Buri, on the morning of November 22, causing chaos as workers scrambled to escape. The blaze, which began at approximately 10:30, prompted the deployment of multiple fire trucks to contain the flames. Pol. Col. Thatthep Lertlakmeepan, Superintendent of Dan Chang Police Station, and Pol. Capt. Rangsarn Lomtaisong, an investigator, confirmed receiving reports of the fire at a warehouse located on Soi 6, Dan Chang Market. Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky, drawing the attention of local authorities and fire response teams, including personnel from Dan Chang Subdistrict Municipality and the Samo-Kan Rescue Foundation. Firefighters reported that one male worker suffered minor burns during the incident and was promptly transported to Dan Chang Hospital for medical treatment. Witnesses stated that approximately 10 workers were inside the warehouse when the fire erupted. Despite their efforts to extinguish the flames using fire extinguishers, the blaze spread rapidly, forcing them to flee for their lives. Firefighters battled the inferno for over two hour before managing to bring it under partial control. However, flare-ups continued due to the structural collapse of the warehouse roof, which hindered efforts to access and extinguish the fire inside. Crews remained on-site, using water hose-lines to prevent the flames from reigniting. A significant portion of the warehouse’s inventory, including auto and motorcycle parts, was destroyed in the fire. The exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation, with authorities questioning witnesses and awaiting forensic evidence. Officials will assess the total damages once the fire is completely extinguished and full access can be gained to all areas. Picture and video from responders. -- 2024-11-23 My Movie.mp4

Police in Ubon Ratchathani were called to a local resort in the Jaramae sub-district after receiving reports of a man, suspected to be under the influence of drugs, scaling the resort’s walls and causing chaos. The incident began when the unidentified man, described as being between 30 and 35 years old, entered the premises, disrupted guests, and locked himself in one of the rooms. The situation was reported by a 30-year-old resort employee. She stated that she first heard cries for help coming from the rear of the property. Upon investigation, she found the man, shirtless, wearing wet black trousers, and speaking incoherently. Suspecting he was intoxicated, she sought assistance from nearby guests, who helped pull him over the wall. The man then ran into a guest’s room and proceeded to take a shower. This startled the room’s occupant, who opted to vacate and move to another accommodation. After his shower, the man entered another adjacent room, locking himself inside. Fearing further disruption, the employee contacted the police for assistance. Responding officers from the 191 Emergency Unit, led by Sub-Lieutenant Ruangsak Rungrueng, attempted to coax the man out by knocking on the door, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Reinforcements were called, and the team used a spare key to enter the room. The suspect was found wearing only a towel, wrapped in a blanket, with scratches on his body, likely from thorns in the forest behind the resort. The man refused to cooperate, declining to answer questions, undergo a drug test, or reveal the location of the keys to a white Honda car with Yasothon plates found nearby. Police had the car towed to the Muang Ubon Ratchathani Police Station for further investigation. Inside the room, officers discovered a pair of wet black trousers and black thong-style underwear. No personal documents, luggage, or other belongings were found. The man was arrested on charges of public disturbance and taken into custody to calm down. Authorities plan to conduct a detailed investigation once the suspect regains composure and is willing to provide a statement. Picture of the arrest. -- 2024-11-23

A tragic incident occurred in Uthai Thani on the evening of November 22, when a 14-year-old student jumped to his death from a bridge near the Uthai Thani Municipal Market. The deceased, identified only as "Nin", left behind his school uniform, shoes, and a farewell note addressed to his family, suggesting emotional distress following a conflict with friends. At approximately 19:40, police were alerted to a student's suicide at the bridge connecting the municipal market and Wat Uposatharam. Officers found a pile of belongings, including a yellow physical education uniform, khaki school shoes, and a mobile phone. A handwritten note, though largely illegible due to rushed handwriting, appeared to contain a farewell message to Nin's father and family. Police interviewed Nin's father, Mr. Tritep 50, who revealed that Nin was one of his twin sons. According to the family, Nin had not shown signs of discord at home and maintained a calm demeanour. However, his twin brother disclosed that Nin had been upset earlier in the day, likely due to an argument with school friends. Mr. Tritep also noted unusual behaviour from Nin prior to the incident. Typically, Nin would remain in his room after school, but on this day, he left the house abruptly, heading toward the bridge just over a kilometre away. When family members arrived at the bridge shortly after noticing his absence, they found only his belongings. Rescue teams, including divers, conducted a search lasting approximately 20 minutes. Nin's body was found near the bridge's pillar, devastating his family and onlookers. His body was retrieved and handed over to relatives for religious Police are investigating two potential causes for the student's suicide: a conflict with friends or feelings of emotional distress. Neighbours and witnesses described Nin as a quiet, introverted boy who avoided interactions and possibly exhibited signs of depression. At the time of the incident, a local festival was taking place nearby, drawing a large crowd to the scene. The incident has left the community deeply saddened, highlighting the importance of mental health support for young people. If you or anyone you know is in emotional distress, please contact the Samaritans of Thailand 24-hour hotline: 02 713 6791 (English), 02 713 6793 (Thai) or the Thai Mental Health Hotline at 1323 (Thai). Immigration Police Raid Uncovers Illegal Migrants in Pattaya Chonburi Immigration Police, in collaboration with local labour authorities and military personnel, conducted a raid targeting illegal migrant workers in Pattaya, uncovering violations of immigration laws and labour regulations. Chonburi Immigration Police, in collaboration with local labour authorities and military personnel, conducted a raid targeting illegal migrant workers in Pattaya, uncovering violations of immigration laws and labour regulations. On November 21, Pol. Col. Napaspong Khositsuriyamanee, head of the Chonburi Immigration Office, led the operation alongside Chonburi Provincial Labour Office head Chalermphon Niamsakul and Capt. Prasert Somcharoen, leader of the Chonburi Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) team. Two locations in Pattaya were targeted in the operation. The first raid took place at a hotel on South Pattaya’s Third Road, following intelligence that it was housing a large number of illegal migrant workers. Authorities inspected more than 50 rooms, discovering over 100 foreign nationals, mostly from India and Myanmar, attempting to hide in bathrooms and on balconies. During the chaos, some individuals fled into the nearby forest behind the hotel. Police managed to apprehend a Myanmar couple who confessed to entering Thailand illegally. Further passport and visa inspections revealed 14 violations involving individuals from Myanmar, Cambodia, and India. These individuals failed to report their residence addresses and were detained for legal action. The second operation targeted illegal labour practices. Two Myanmar nationals were arrested while working as car wash attendants at a gas station in South Pattaya. In a subsequent inspection of a market near Wat Chaimongkol, a Lao woman was arrested at a store selling religious items. Additionally, a stateless man, identified as a motorbike taxi driver, was detained outside the market. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to curb illegal immigration and prevent migrant workers from taking jobs that could otherwise be filled by Thai nationals. Tourist’s Body Found Washed Ashore at Wong Amat Beach, Pattaya Pattaya rescue officials from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation received a report from a concerned citizen about a body floating near Wong Amat Beach. The deceased, believed to be a foreigner, had washed ashore. Full story: https://aseannow.com/topic/1344275-tourist’s-body-found-washed-ashore-at-wong-amat-beach-pattaya/ -
Pattaya rescue officials from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation received a report at approximately 07.50 on November 22, from a concerned citizen about a body floating near Wong Amat Beach. The deceased, believed to be a foreigner, had washed ashore. The Pattaya City Police Station was promptly informed, and officers were dispatched to the scene. The incident occurred near Wong Amat Tower, within Soi Pattaya-Naklua 16, Moo 5, Naklua Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. Upon arrival, officials found locals gathered near the body, which was floating face-up close to the shoreline. Rescue teams cordoned off the area and retrieved the body from the water. The deceased was identified as a foreign male, estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old, approximately 170–180 cm tall. He was shirtless, wearing black trousers, and had a short haircut. Initial assessments suggest the man had been dead for no more than four hours. Upon inspecting the body, authorities discovered an iPhone 5 in the pocket of his trousers, a gold watch on his left wrist, a gold necklace, and a gold ring on his left ring finger. However, no identification documents were found to confirm his nationality. Mrs. Preaw Pinyoying, an 83-year-old local resident, recounted a passerby fishing in the area had informed her of the floating body, about 30 metres from the shore. The waves appeared to be pushing it towards the beach. The fisherman asked Mrs. Preaw to immediately notify police and rescue officials. Police speculate that the man may have been walking on the beach in the early morning, when a pre-existing medical condition caused his sudden death. No signs of foul play were detected, although minor scrapes on the body, likely caused by rocks in the water, were observed. As the area is relatively quiet during the early morning, there were no witnesses to confirm when or how the man entered the water. The body has been transported to Bang Lamung Hospital, where it will be kept pending identification and contact with the deceased’s family for religious rites. Investigation into the case continues. Warning this story contains details that some may find upsetting. A Cambodian woman in Rayong province has been hospitalised after refusing to eat for an extended period following a dispute with her husband. The woman, who became bedridden and infested with maggots, was rescued by local emergency services after neighbours alerted them to her deteriorating condition. Premasak Karnjangkul, a rescue worker from Siam Rescue Rayong, Ban Chang Unit, responded to a distress call from residents in Ban Chang subdistrict, Rayong. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the woman in a shocking state, emaciated, emitting a foul odour, and with maggots crawling from open sores on her body. She was immediately taken to Ban Chang Hospital for urgent medical care. The woman, identified as Mrs. Rang 43, had been living in the home with her five children, ages 10 to 17. A neighbour, Ms. Khematiti 35, who reported the case, shared details of Mrs. Rang's past and her tragic decline. According to Ms. Khematiti, Mrs. Rang was once a beautiful woman married to a handsome man. However, her tendency to become overly jealous led to struggles with depression. Before falling ill, Mrs. Rang had reportedly attempted self-harm during arguments with her husband, who had moved to another province for work. The couple frequently quarreled, and after a recent argument, Mrs. Rang stopped eating altogether as an act of protest. Although her husband continued to support the family financially, sending money for rent, utilities, and other expenses through Ms. Khematiti, he rarely returned home. Mrs. Rang's children tried to care for her, feeding her small amounts of food, but she ate very little and eventually became bedridden. Her condition worsened, leading to the horrific state in which she was found. Authorities are continuing to monitor her recovery and are working with social services to provide assistance to her children and family. Picture from responders. -- 2024-11-22
