  8. Pictures courtesy of C Wisutthipat Facebook Nonthaburi, 21 August around 08:00, a man (name withheld) woke up and went to use the bathroom as usual, and before sitting on the toilet, he as always flushed it first to check for any unwanted surprises. This was no different, he flushed, lifted the lid, sat down, and suddenly felt something bite him in a very sensitive area. The pain was intense as he reached down, and to his shock, grabbed the neck of a snake, which had sunk its fangs into his skin. In a panic, he jumped up and tried to pull the snake off. He wasn’t feeling much pain at that moment, just pure fear. As he gripped the snake's neck tightly and he tried to yank it out of the toilet, but it was incredibly strong and wouldn’t budge. In shock and anger, he noticed the toilet brush nearby and grabbed it and started hitting the snake repeatedly, forgetting that he was still holding onto its neck with his other hand. He ended up hitting his own fingers in the process, though he didn’t feel it at the time. He kept hitting until the snake finally went limp. After that, he carefully pulled it out of the toilet and left it lying on the floor, dead. He immediately called the complex’s security guard to dispose of the snake and asked his neighbour to take him to the hospital. Luckily, it was just a non-venomous python and his blood tests came back normal. The bite had eft a mark, and pulling the snake off caused some additional injury. He posted the pictures on his facebook as a warning of the dangers during rainy season, and especially it flooded areas. -- 2024-08-21 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. 25. File picture RTAF T-50TH, 40101 trainer jet. SEOUL, August 19, Korea Aerospace Industries Co. (KAI), South Korea’s leading and only aircraft manufacturer, has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Thai Aviation Industries (TAI) for the continued maintenance and support of Thailand’s fleet of T-50TH trainer jets. The agreement, builds on a longstanding relationship between KAI and TAI, which has been responsible for maintaining the T-50TH jets in Thailand. The T-50TH, a supersonic advanced jet trainer, is part of the T-50 family, which includes variants for combat and training missions. Developed by KAI with the help of Lockheed Martin, the T-50 series has been a key component in modernising air forces around the world. Since 2018, KAI has exported 14 T-50TH trainer jets to Thailand as part of a major defense procurement effort to strengthen the Royal Thai Air Force's (RTAF) training capabilities. The T-50TH aircraft is used primarily to train pilots transitioning to more advanced fighter jets such as the F-16. Under the current partnership, TAI, has taken charge of providing maintenance services for the jets with technological support from KAI. The recent MOU ensures that this relationship will continue, with KAI committed to enhancing the level of support it offers to TAI’s maintenance operations. A spokesperson for KAI expressed optimism about the extended partnership. "We believe that continuing our cooperation with TAI will not only ensure the smooth operation of the T-50TH jets in Thailand but also pave the way for future orders of additional trainer jets," the spokesperson said during a phone interview. "We are confident that the quality and performance of our jets, coupled with strong local maintenance support, will strengthen our position in the Thai market." This deal comes at a time when several Southeast Asian nations are ramping up their defense capabilities amid rising geopolitical tensions in the region. KAI’s T-50 jets have been gaining traction as a popular choice for air forces in Asia due to their advanced technology, reliability, and affordability compared to other high-performance jets. For Thailand, the T-50TH represents a crucial investment in its pilot training program, allowing it to provide domestically the advanced training that was previously conducted abroad. This capability has reduced costs and increased the availability of qualified pilots within the RTAF. The extended agreement between KAI and TAI is expected to further enhance Thailand's self-sufficiency in maintaining its fleet of trainer jets, ensuring that the RTAF can continue to rely on the T-50TH for years to come. Both companies have signaled that they are exploring opportunities for deeper collaboration, which may include the future expansion of KAI’s presence in Thailand. -- 2024-08-20 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million.
