  1. 5555 Those were the days, get p##sed, put the chip pan on, fall asleep and burn the kitchen or house down. At least it was slightly safer than getting p##sed and falling asleep while smoking in bed. 🙃
  2. No just that the initial report is not correct, and this was a far more serious incident, as the aircraft involved, as I post above, was an Airbus A321.
  3. Yes agree, but I bet these are fitted out better than a new commercial e-jets, as the planes are mainly used for VIP transport. 55555
  4. Seems there are actually 4 older Embraer ERJ-135LR aircraft currently flying in Thailand. 2 operated by the Royal Thai Army and 2 operated the Royal Thai Navy.
  5. This was not a military flight, the picture was taken from a commercial flight,Thai Vietjet Air TVJ221/VZ221, on the 16 May.The aircraft was an Airbus A321, which was late leaving the departure gate by 5 minutes, and for some reason the aircraft was held on taxi for 30 minutes before taking off. The rocket was reported about 200m from the aircraft at 6000 - 8000 feet. https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/TVJ221/history/20240516/0550Z/VTUU/VTBS The military aircraft was the flight taking off after this aircraft, 3-5 minutes, an ATR aircraft with the call sign Cowboy04. Only the Royal Thai Air Force fly the ATR and those aircraft have a maximum capacity of 70 passengers.
  6. Boeing CEO David Calhoun's is currently marred by serious quality control failures, poor leadership, and poor performance, but his departure at the end of 2024 comes with a proposed $32.8 million pay package. https://www.entrepreneur.com/leadership/inside-boeing-ceos-controversial-328-million-pay-package/474084
  7. Found this video from 2 days ago, happened in Indonesia, the ground crew survived, but was hospitalised with broken leg and hip. See Airbus aircraft can also be dangerous. 508390536429437041.mov
  8. Did the last time I fly in, which was January this year. Has always worked every time I used the airport, both arrivals and departures, just sign up, name, email and you only get an hour, then if needed sign up again. If it has changed since January, someone else can update you.
  9. Updated information on the incident, states that the fire started in equipment in a hairdressers/beauty salon, on floor 1. Two people are reported to have required first aid for smoke inhalation, it is not clear if they were emergency responders, as the mall was closed to the public at the time of the fire. Video of the incident does show many people inside in the smoke without suitable respiratory protection, covid masks do not stop the effects of smoke.
  10. Seems there was only one fire and it was in the Wat Chai Mongkol area, and would appear to be the Pattaya Tai Center Condo, with the fire being on the 12 floor. Video of the incident below. https://fb.watch/s6EMkIb00-/?
  11. Sorry that is definitely not The Edge. The Edge did have a fire in A/C unit, this year on 17 March, so you maybe looking at an older report. Picture of that fire at The Edge below.
  12. The same story by Thaipbs site, seems to imply that this was maybe a commercial flight. “The news team checked further from Flight Radar24 and found that the flight route from Ubon Ratchathani to Bangkok After the plane takes off, it will pass Mueang Ubon Ratchathani District. Before crossing the Chi River and entering Kanthararom District, Sisaket Province, which although it was a short period of less than 5 minutes, was a period when the aircraft was not at a high altitude, approximately 5,000 - 10,000 feet or 3 kilometers above the ground. About 10 kilometers from normal flight altitude” https://www.thaipbs.or.th/news/content/340076 My translation of the pilots post.
  13. Sorry, not that helpful, but just a limited basic opinion.
  14. I don’t use opera, but can only think that GX was possibly downloaded during an update, if you have not given permission somewhere to install it. Someone with better knowledge will advise.
  15. Sorry, not sure, as I have seen reports possibly of 2 condo fires in this area last night. From the Thai reports it is unclear if the 2 reported fires are the same incident, so I will not repeat the condo name given in those reports, until I see it confirmed, or if someone saw the fire
  16. Yes should two be separate browsers, but you must have allowed the download at some time and we will have no idea if you have allowed GX to sync with your current browser. Please wait until someone with better knowledge than mine, to also confirm what I believe, that using GX will not interfere with the original browser.
  17. There are many private investigator services and legal offices in Thailand, that may have the contacts or experience to do what you want, but is it worth it? Really think you are grasping at straws, and will probably waste just more money trying to chase this. Some basic questions; How do you know there is a finger mark on the brush and it can be recovered? What makes you think that the finger mark is going to be clear, complete and not just smudged? How can you provide the police in Cambodia with proof it was a the scene of the crime? Have the police photographed, documented and recorded the brush at the scene? How have you recorded your suspected findings? Have you kept the brush in a sealed bag, so you can prove in has not been touched anywhere else. Seems the Cambodian police were not concerned at the time, what makes you think you can get them interested now. If you are relying.on a financial incentive, why did you not offer it at the time?
  18. Seems that overnight Pattaya fire and rescue services have been busy, following the earlier incident at Royal Gardens. At 03:30 a.m, 17 May, there were reports of a fire in a condo in South Pattaya. Responders evacuated the residents of the condo, and the fire was extinguished, with it being mostly contained to one unit, which appears to have suffered extensive damage. There were no reports of injuries or deaths. Wonder if anyone is staying at or near this complex.

  20. I believe that the units there, are protected by sprinklers, so the fire may have been contained, but not extinguished by the sprinklers, hence the density and appearance of the smoke, is a lot thinner/clearer that may be expected. The fire service are using PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fans to try to clear the smoke, which maybe in addition to any fixed extraction systems. It is impossible to determine what happened, as there is not enough information available, from a few pictures and video, but an investigation should be fairly easy to determine seat of fire and cause. Any investigation has to be open minded, looking at all information found at the scene, it does not work if you have a preconceived idea of a cause, and then try to get the fire scene to fit that idea. Yes the smoke will have caused a lot of damage to clothing, food supplies, electrical appliances, fitting, etc and the owners will face difficulties cleaning up and stock will be ruined.
  21. Looking at the pictures and video I have seen, from the incident, this looks like a slow burning, smouldering type fire, lots of smoke and little flame, unless the fire was contained within a closed/shuttered shop and the smoke logging is secondary. Not ruling out anything as the cause, as have seen no pictures of where the fire started, but would be very surprised if this was thermal run away of a Li-ion battery, as the smoke characteristics are wrong. Looking at the fire hose layout and positioning of used extinguishers, it appears the fire may have started in the shop pictured below, which may have a menu outside.
  22. Small fire overnight, reported at 00.30, in Royal Gardens. No injuries reported, but lots of smoke logging. You normally would expect Shopping Malls to have fire dampers and automatic smoke extraction to prevent this sort of smoke spread, but that could have been effected by the shops being closed and shuttered. Video posted by local rescue service below. https://fb.watch/s6dCZPYUiH/?
  23. The SCGC executive team, led by Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasophon, Chief Operating Officer visited the injured in hospital. SCGC has now provided initial compensation and financial assistance to those injured and confirmed they will take full responsibility for all medical expenses. From the 5 injured, 2 have been allowed him to go home, with the remaining 3 still under close medical supervision.
  24. I would not expect the reporter to have that much knowledge of this, but if AI is used correctly it can provide extra details to the news report. As this is a forum, and I assume no full time reporters, I feel the selection and filtering of the local news stories is not too bad, but I think the wording is sometimes made difficult, as it is often translated from the original Thai reports. At least it gives plenty of options and opportunities to comment.
  25. Seems that the police are now reporting that the third suspect Kim Yong Kwon, has not been arrested in Thailand, as in the earlier report, but is still on the run, other news reports suggest he crossed the border into Myanmar. The other suspecrs, Lee Roh Oun is currently being held in South Korea, while Lee Yong Jin is in custody in Cambodia, with the report below saying Thai police are seeking ‘red notices’ for them. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/interpol-red-notices-sought-against-two-south-korean-fugitives/
