The concern is why they were granted the deferred prosecution agreement in the first place, was it just pure protectionism, as the government agreed not to prosecute Boeing on a charge of defrauding the United States by deceiving regulators about the flight system and allowed them to escape their full responsibility, limited the compensation they were liable for and helped the lowering of safety standards, regulations and oversight. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Chair of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, released the following statement after the Department of Justice filed a letter in federal court asserting that Boeing has violated the terms of a deferred prosecution agreement. “When Boeing was granted a deferred prosecution agreement, I said that it would incentivise bad behaviour and do nothing to change the rotten corporate culture that allowed Boeing to mislead and deceive regulators, because it held no one accountable. The only way to ensure companies put safety above profit is through transparency and accountability.”

Pattaya terrorised by two fires in the night, locals evacuated
Georgealbert replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Yes fully agree. I have never been in this complex, but looking at the picture you posted yesterday, I would image no sprinklers and maybe only heat detectors in rooms and smoke detectors in corridors. The fire safety measures did work during this incident, the fire was basically contained in the unit of origin, the alarm was raised and everyone was able to safely evacuate. Yes there was smoke in the corridors and a bit of external smoke/heat scorching, but the damage was mainly to one unit and no reported injuries. It should also be noted that fire sprinklers main purpose is to contain a fire, not extinguish it, but if a fire is fully extinguished by the sprinklers that is a bonus. Sprinklers also raise the alarm, as they act as a heat detector and by containing a fire and stopping any spread, it allows a safer evacuation, with people having more time to exit. Even with a sprinkler controlled fire you are still going to get smoke, and it depends on the quality of doors (rarely see smoke seals on doors in Thailand) or if the door is closed, as to how much smoke gets into the corridor, also remember the emergency responders will have to open doors and it then stays open to allow hose lines into the unit, with applying water onto a fire initially producing steam and more smoke. Also sprinklers are not like in the movie, a sprinkler head requires direct heat to operate, (a sprinkler with red liquid is designed to operate at 68C) and only that sprinkler head allows water to flow, not all of them on the system. -

Boeing whistleblower says he was put through 'hell'
Georgealbert replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yes, but that is an old link from March. Read what his family and lawyers have said since. I know I will never stop your conspiracy theories, as you are never going to believe the authorities. Read the police reports, the autopsy and inquest reports, what the hotel staff said, the note he left, his medical history of PTSD, the CCTV at the hotel and the fact his whistleblower days ended with his last testimony, years ago. This court case was about his AIR21 claim, which even OHSA had dismissed, saying there was no evidence. His days of posing any problem to Boeing had past, and he had nothing new to add. Have a good day. -
This is the link to the story in the news section.

No it was not The Edge, as I posted above. The fire at The Edge occurred in March, this year This fire was in the Pattaya Tai Center Condo complex, 12 floor.

Stop trying to hijack the thread with your off topic comments, which you only want to try to fit your own, reality and political agenda. When you get over your pragmatophobia, please try to post a credible link to support your claims. Bye, as I know you will never post anything that backs up your posts. -
Boeing whistleblower says he was put through 'hell'
Georgealbert replied to Social Media's topic in World News
555555 How am I disagreeing with you or trying to silence the truth? So you think I am a ‘radical activist’ when all I have done is post credible links and from multiple different sources, and only ask you to provide the same, but as expected you have provided nothing, just your own opinion on what you believe is reality. Looking at your posts, you clearly suffer the Dunning and Kruger effect, and lack the intellectual capability to see how stupid your comments are. Bye and have a good day, and try to find something more credible than the copy and paste nonsense you just posted. If you find a credible link post it and then you will get a sensible reply from me. -

Remains of Missing Korean Man Discovered in Chon Buri Reservoir

It seems that the Thai wife of the victim has told police that she spoke to the murderer after he had killed her husband and he admitted to strangling him. The claimed murderer is 35-year-old Kim Hyeong Won, who is still on the run and is reported to have illegally crossed into Myanmar after dumping the body. https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2024/05/16/police-dubious-of-suspect-testimony-in-south-korean-murder-thai-wife-speaks-with-killer/ -

5555 Those were the days, get p##sed, put the chip pan on, fall asleep and burn the kitchen or house down. At least it was slightly safer than getting p##sed and falling asleep while smoking in bed. 🙃 -
Royal Thai Air Force Pilot Dodges Festival Rocket in Close Call
Georgealbert replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No just that the initial report is not correct, and this was a far more serious incident, as the aircraft involved, as I post above, was an Airbus A321. -

Yes agree, but I bet these are fitted out better than a new commercial e-jets, as the planes are mainly used for VIP transport. 55555 -

Seems there are actually 4 older Embraer ERJ-135LR aircraft currently flying in Thailand. 2 operated by the Royal Thai Army and 2 operated the Royal Thai Navy. -
Royal Thai Air Force Pilot Dodges Festival Rocket in Close Call

This was not a military flight, the picture was taken from a commercial flight,Thai Vietjet Air TVJ221/VZ221, on the 16 May.The aircraft was an Airbus A321, which was late leaving the departure gate by 5 minutes, and for some reason the aircraft was held on taxi for 30 minutes before taking off. The rocket was reported about 200m from the aircraft at 6000 - 8000 feet. https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/TVJ221/history/20240516/0550Z/VTUU/VTBS The military aircraft was the flight taking off after this aircraft, 3-5 minutes, an ATR aircraft with the call sign Cowboy04. Only the Royal Thai Air Force fly the ATR and those aircraft have a maximum capacity of 70 passengers. -

Found this video from 2 days ago, happened in Indonesia, the ground crew survived, but was hospitalised with broken leg and hip. See Airbus aircraft can also be dangerous. 508390536429437041.mov -
Did the last time I fly in, which was January this year. Has always worked every time I used the airport, both arrivals and departures, just sign up, name, email and you only get an hour, then if needed sign up again. If it has changed since January, someone else can update you.

Updated information on the incident, states that the fire started in equipment in a hairdressers/beauty salon, on floor 1. Two people are reported to have required first aid for smoke inhalation, it is not clear if they were emergency responders, as the mall was closed to the public at the time of the fire. Video of the incident does show many people inside in the smoke without suitable respiratory protection, covid masks do not stop the effects of smoke.

Seems there was only one fire and it was in the Wat Chai Mongkol area, and would appear to be the Pattaya Tai Center Condo, with the fire being on the 12 floor. Video of the incident below. https://fb.watch/s6EMkIb00-/?

Sorry that is definitely not The Edge. The Edge did have a fire in A/C unit, this year on 17 March, so you maybe looking at an older report. Picture of that fire at The Edge below.

The same story by Thaipbs site, seems to imply that this was maybe a commercial flight. “The news team checked further from Flight Radar24 and found that the flight route from Ubon Ratchathani to Bangkok After the plane takes off, it will pass Mueang Ubon Ratchathani District. Before crossing the Chi River and entering Kanthararom District, Sisaket Province, which although it was a short period of less than 5 minutes, was a period when the aircraft was not at a high altitude, approximately 5,000 - 10,000 feet or 3 kilometers above the ground. About 10 kilometers from normal flight altitude” https://www.thaipbs.or.th/news/content/340076 My translation of the pilots post. -
Sorry, not that helpful, but just a limited basic opinion.
