  1. I lean toward liking this approach. I used to own a small business and resented being forced to enforce various silly government laws. If it's important, they should do it, and not make business owners do unpaid service. But I agree it's a problem because most Westerners, if they order a beer and get it, will assume they aren't breaking the law.
  2. I'm at about a half gram several evenings a week. But, the sleep is terrible when I use it. How do people keep from being groggy the next day?
  3. My wife went to a government hospital in Bangkok and I was pleasantly surprised. The biggest difference from the US was how nice the nurses were. Completely different from the unionized beasts at US hospitals. I do believe the OPs original story though, and have had similar experiences with the veterinarians here.
  4. It has been three weeks. How's it going? Are you back in the saddle?
  5. Apparently if a suspected mule account makes a purchase, the bank account belonging to the business also gets frozen.
  6. Related: how does 70 tons of physical gold get across the Thai-Cambodia border?

So many people have been debilitated or died because of this.
  8. Let's say Cambodia is just an intermediary. Someone or some group powerful in Thailand unloads the gold for US dollars. Then they use that to buy Thai baht. Why? Once they stop buying, the baht crashes. Combined with something else happening, such as investors being afraid to buy Thai bonds to cover their huge budget deficit, there is a crisis. A crisis calls out for military intervention.
  9. Driving down dusty country roads in Missouri while drinking a cold beer is one of my fondest memories of high school in the 80s.
  10. That's one thing I haven't seen. I think the weed is below average here, especially compared to what was available in California before Covid. I get the impression many of the Thai growers prioritize Cannabis strains with high resiliency and production over a good smoke. Also, from the little local weedshops in my area of Bangkok a good part of the weed seems to come from Malaysia or Laos.
  11. Yes. I actually did this and it was a ridiculous waste of time/money, and seemed degrading to the doctor, though maybe it helped her pay off some debt. They ask questions, you give a canned response "I have trouble sleeping" and you get the prescription.
  12. If AI can conquer those things, it can also be used to create new ones that can't be defeated. Animal rights nuts fund something that makes everyone allergic to meat. Big Pharma creates a disease which is treatable, but only at $1 million per person. Or sex Puritans create a new version of the Clap that, well, let Eddie Murphy explain what they will do:
  13. === Pichai anticipates the budget act's implementation without disruption. "The next government can engage with the new budget seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted economic governance," he reassured stakeholders. === That budget has an 860 billion baht deficit and some argue there is no way to borrow that much, meaning the exchange rate may finally improve for us expats here.
  14. After making cityscapes around the world uglier with all of those 5G towers, I also see no benefit in paying extra for a phone to get the 5G. Maybe someone could explain ...
  15. I've been disappointed in the quality. It all kind of seems the same to me, compared to the variety of experiences from the California weed I used to get.
  16. I went through the doctor's prescription process earlier this week and it was so ridiculous. It was a video call from my phone and cost 400 baht, but was free by purchasing more than 1,000 baht of weed. The doctor was a Thai traditional doctor and talking to me while standing in a busy hall of a traditional medicine facility. I felt a little sorry for her because she seemed like a serious medical person, but I guess she got a little extra money out of the ritual. She asked if I was on any other meds and what I needed it for and that was it.
  17. He went crazy during Covid, but hopefully he will restore the Cannabis rules to where they were.

I get my meat for stew from Makro. Their brisket is around 340 baht per kilo from Australia, but sometimes they have "local" brisket that is cheaper. I brown it and cook in the pressure cooker on high for 19 minutes and do a natural release. It's good. I also get a 1 kilo beef leg bone from them for 55 baht make a stock.
  19. How do you keep them separate and know what you are grabbing?
  20. Cannabis stores have been requiring it recently, and a veterinarian required it of me. So far the cannabis stores have always accepted a picture of my passport that I carry on my phone.
  21. Google Streetview photographed this UK driving instructor peeing on the side of a road in May, 2021. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/weird-news/driving-instructor-caught-urinating-google-26020314

What kind of bottle or container was it in? This type of thing always worries me. I bought a Cannabis drink once and it tasted very strange. I later found out they added cough syrup to it. It may have contained something like that, which many locals want.
  23. How did this happen?
  24. How did you get it?
