  1. Boracay although a lovely spot it really is a tourist trap. I had a few holidays there and it was the 1st time in my life that I fully relaxed. Sitting on the beach, cocktail in hand watching the sun go down. Pure bliss. Cebu can get a bit overpowering but they do have better infrastructure there. Agree with Puerto Princesa although I've not been there. Dumagete is a nice quiet spot, but a bit remote. Lived in Bohol for a few years. Not a bad spot and the island is fairly well surrounded by other islands, which helps during typhoon season. There is an adjoining island called Panglau. Great beaches and good diving/snorkeling. Nice people too
  2. Mr Noi and Mr Nong were acting like some ning nongs and had a bit of a ding dong... What could go wong? Silly boys!
  3. I will say I've tried the fried crickets once but I had a belly full of beer at the time. From memory they were ok. Don't know if I want to try them when sober!
  4. If it was my bike and he did that, I'm sure a size 10 boot up his arse would give him a heart attack.
  5. The same goes for seasonal fruit and veg. In the off season they become expensive, but when in season they can be very cheap. Supply and demand.
  6. Yuup, any piss weak excuse to get himself off the hook. Very few Thai men actually man up when they cock up. Got to blame someone or something for their own actions.
  7. When working in the Middle East I found these in an American px. Very nice
  8. I arrived back in Dec 23 with my previous 'stay' being for 7 years. I haven't had McDs yet and nor do I have the yearning to. I pick my Thai food and enjoy it, staying away from the 'slop' as you call it. For real authentic slop, pop across to the Philippines.
  9. The band Devo had a rocket in their pocket... And didn't know what to do.
  10. “But before we begin, this announcement: Mr. Johnson! Mr. Frank Johnson! … If you’re out there, the conference organizers would like you to know that you were never actually invited.”
  11. Actually JoePai, originally Ayam was founded by a French gentleman. It then moved to Asia and is huge in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, China, France and the UK. In total Ayam is available in 30 countries.
