  1. Let's say that's so, hard to imagine, and then what? Can I see the rules book please... bam they've lost face and you ain't getting nowhere, and even if you think you are right they'll use the rule that's something along the line of "immigration officer has the final discretion on all matters"... what you going to do, hold a press conference? call your lawyer?
  2. Listening to the safe and effective crowd is as perplexing as someone attempting to financially justify their timeshare buy...
  3. I can't see you winning on this even if you are in the right, accountability doesn't happen here, I would be tempted to play dumb and see if Roi Et would accept it as a warranty repair without disclosing the screen has been replaced.
  4. 2,500baht to fix is very low price, and would of suggested to me that it wasn't an authorized repair. I just paid 9k to fix a few dead pixels on last-gen Samsung Flip phone to give you perspective on price, and who knows if it was really Samsung that did the job.. The problem you have on the second fault is that they can claim it was damaged from the first incident.
  5. Just ban them. I can't take on more than 100ml of water, but I can bring on a big heavy volatile powerbank without issue? makes sense...
  6. TrueTraveller is similar. https://www.truetraveller.com/
  7. Everyone gets the 1 year free 1st class, everyone gets the <deleted> window films (application garage, or in house, will usually attempt to upsell you to 3M), there's not a single person that's bought a car in thailand that hasn't got at least those even on something in demand. But 8% with full warranty isn't bad if there hasn't been a model refresh, I'd be tempted to consider above 10% if the upgrades were real and not some <deleted> from dealer like mats, full tank petrol, door foot thing protectors
  8. I considered this after I read about some guy getting delivery mileage on some EV and latest reg, and finance as this year, all Ts crossed and I's dotted, but found a ton of rust everywhere when looked closely, I think he claimed the manufacturer date was 18 months ago. Just another consider to deal with, unless you're getting a 10%+ discount which is rare here, then I damn want something out the factory within the last six months, not sat at various ports and roof top garages for several months. How much was the discount for 2022 produce?
  9. Probably here but a Lenovo or 2nd hand NUC or other well known mini pc. A lot of garbage on aliexpress has doctored the firmware to report different chipsets. Tbf that's the same on thai marketplaces too with 800baht android boxes that claim a 8 core CPU, decent GPU, 4gb ram, and 2TB usb pens for 199baht, all garbage other than reporting initially that you got what you paid for, even the android version is often doctored. If you're buying a 5k mini pc, just as a media PC, and don't care that the i3 really is a fake but underneath a legit celeron then that's probably fine but buying a high/mid end ryzen from a chinese marketplace no way.
  10. I thought the v4 lite up to the same smaller bedroom where the v3 was reporting 10 consistently, ran them side and side, and immediately it's reporting 2 on PM2.5, so I guessing the accuracy on v3 at least isn't great.
  11. Government green incentives do permit this type of pointless (in terms of real actual recycling but maybe not in facilitating an income for the poorest people) economic activity... I was surprised how much they pay per kg of cardboard.. It happens all over the world, has been for decades... So yes. REALLY
  12. Yeah I've seen this, I think the idea is future proof and awareness, get people separating out now because one day it will be feasible end to end in the chain, and thais are very slow to adapt (many still haven't de-masked), but agree today the net effect is as fecking useless as thoughts and prayers..
  13. For those with Xiaomi 3 and 4 versions, what does the room settle at after an hour? I have 1 that always struggles to get below 10, like it's the lowest the sensitivity meter will go, this the 3 model though. After adding additional filters to the primary room wall mounted air conditioners the other two, which are version 4 lites, have been able to reach 05-06 consistently now.
  14. Can I ask why the insurance company didn't assist more, was it 1st class insurance? or was it because she wasn't technically qualified to drive yet (not that it makes a difference here)? I just presumed if you paid the extra for 1st class and had a legit license it would coverage everything including any legal liabilities but perhaps I need to read my policy.
  15. Is the owners name already in the blue book for the rented property? It might seem like a given, but not everyone puts their name in the bluebook, perhaps this is why they wanted the other tabien baan linked to ID? but that's not something i've seen before at SP and CW.
  16. KBank, the most efficient out the lot, but it's still poor compared to modern banking - last century banking with bank books, mountains of paper, procedures that don't make sense, sign here there and over there for anything...
  17. If you already have Xiamoi devices make sure the version is the TH region, otherwise you'll have to remove all the devices and redo your Xiamoi setup to Chinese. Nearly all Xiamoi 4 ones on lazada are grey imports except from the two official stores. If you don't plan on using the app for scheduling you can probably get away with Chinese version. They always have sales on the big lazada days - next is 3/3/2024 if not in a rush. The 4 lite is sufficient for most rooms.
  18. So you're going to rely on ATMs, pay ATM fees and carry cash everywhere for everything, instead of being able to transaction in shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, public transport and so on with a recognized provider like Visa/Mastercard which can be sorted before you go. You better hope you don't end up in venue that doesn't accept cash - like Starbucks in Thailand for example. Yeah definitely think before you post... People with attitudes like yours I hope don't come back..
  19. Thansk everyone, difficult for someone unfamiliar to tell, but I would say if there is a mix of oil and coolant then it's in the coolant and the engine oil seems okay - but that could be because it changed recently? on the coolant could that be I just didn't dilute it correctly last time I filled it? Anyway, I'll find a new garage and see what they say..
  20. That piece of junk hardly works anywhere in Thailand. F'all chance of using it abroad. Go see them and trade it in for a Be 1st Smart Card which is Mastercard debit. The cost is 300baht but they refund any un-used months on the old card 7 days later, so if you just had an annual fee recently deducted still not a problem.
  21. Probably, but not if this is just to start of more headaches, if they said hey give us 60k and we'll guarantee 20k km out of it till it dies excluding wearables I'd probably jump at it..
  22. I'd decided not to do the work just yet and just pay them what I owe for checking it out for now. I cant make heads or tails of it just yet... But I've got some more information now that perhaps suggests it isn't head gasket valve thing the first lad said but the same net effect of mixing which is why I thought we had found a consensus, I've now got via translation "radiator leaking, oil is mixed with coolant which is cause pipe to swell. oil flowing inside pipe, the coolant is sludge. " On the bill bill I can't even see anything related to head gasket, gasket valve so maybe this supports the above, the most expensive line item is "overhaul and replace radiator seals" 9k, water pump 4k, water valve 3k, radiator 7.3k, and so on all the way up near 60k. I'm pretty sure I got the radiator replace a year ago out in suburbs for 4.5k, so I'm not sure if anything near the 37 items will be actually needed.
  23. If that's only risk, and push it to side of the road until it gets towed home or to the scrap yard, I can live with that.
