  1. DNA tests would show the ethnicity. DNA tests could easily be linked to relatives of any suspect from Koh Tao.

This smells very much like locals did it and the police can't or won't investigate or arrest them.

And that is why the British Embassy (joke) should insist on Scotland Yard Investigators, both Police and Forensic teams should be called in. Although probably to late for forensics, as the area is probably sufficiently contaminated by now?

  2. DNA from semen can clearly rule out western involvement if tested.

Asian DNA and Western DNA are different .

So they could say now its not a westerner its an Asian(s)

If you had bothered to read your own link you would find (in red) DNA CANNOT: Determine the age or race of the donor

Thankyou halloween, I was just checking before making the same post myself.

  3. The (to me as an ex-banker) obvious solution would be to split the funds into two (or more) accounts. One would as now be tied to the credit card while the other would be tied to the visa, while any further accounts would be 'free' money. Not giving true credit cards to foreigners is not uncommon - I live in Cyprus and the same applies here. Exceptions may be made if the foreigner is working in BKK in a stable and well paid job but as most (non-working especially) foreigners rent rather than owning property. their 'links' to Thailand will always be much looser than those of a Thai.

  4. Netflix works on the x8 and minix has their own apk download for it. I don't use netflix on my x8 but you should check the minix forum on any issues as there seems to have been some before you buy.

AJ, At the moment I am using my laptop. but am thinking of buying an X8, could you tell me where you got yours from an the cost. Plus would you still recommend it. Cheers

  5. @jimbeam

You can use a hotmail account to sign up at xbmchub ( now tv addons ) the registration confirmation email just gets picked up by your hotmail junk filter so you'll find it there. That's what happened to me.

Xbmc is Kodi they are just changing the name. I don't think the first Kodi version is out yet so you will still be downloading xbmc version Gotham 13.1 or 2. When the Kodi version is released you can just update it over your Gotham version without deleting and reinstalling as all versions are built to facilitate this.

When you do install xbmc you will need to download the fusion zip ( the instructions are simple) after doing this would I recommend you use the xbmchub HUB wizard auto setup located in the fusion package to set up your machine as it puts in all the standard channels and movie streams . One you get comfortable using them you can start playing around finding different addons that suit your viewing style.

It may sound a but complex but I am the most computer illiterate person I know and it's not that hard to figure out .

Thanks for that AJ. As for your last paragraph, I think I can beat you there?

  6. Does anyone know how long the xbmc site down is going to be down for?

    jb1

We're currently preparing for the launch for our newly branded community! Please bare with us while we get everything together, it will definitely be amazing. We're expecting to be operational within the next two days at most.

Well xbmc forum is back up again but certainly not running.

I managed to logon ok this morning, took a look to check addons the very easy to find and use instructions were gone? Took a look elsewhere, then decided to go back to forums. I noticed that I had come back as a guest. So tried to logon again, only to be told that I was using the wrong password username combination, which I wasn't, after some more attempts to log on I was told that I was using an invalid email account. No I'm not that is the account I registered with. So ok I decided to reregister, it was only then that I found out that I cannot use an hotmail.com account.

where before I was only www.confused.com I am now www.confused+.com

So do I now need to uninstall xbmc and install kodi?

  7. sorry the first line says my wife, I don't know how she got into this but the question is my drivers license is up in NOV. nothing about her sorry. Renewal for five year license is coming up.

I don't know if it still stands, but a few years ago you couldn't apply for your 5 year license until the one year license had run out? Tit

  8. A while back the authorities brought in the Dutch (masters of water management), and after they were sent packing. Time after time Thailand ignores advise of those which have proven methods of success. Apparently they are quite able to work things out for themselves, and you of course see the result !

Yingluk sent the Dutch packing because the King came up with a better solution.

  9. I just downloaded ntv mx xbmc onto my laptop. Thought I would take a look at an episode of fools & horses.

Got message saying sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed within the USA??

Ok so I'll take a look at some sport, needed to register. Ok first two stages completed ok, stage three billing details?

Hmmm me thinks I still have a long way to go with this.

But he who dares Rodders, he who dares?

    jb1

So now about to find out how easy it is to uninstall the ntv mx xbmc toolbar.

    Piece of cake already done.

  10. That looks to me like a different box. Where did you see the price for it?

on the jsat site there is a M8 box listed for b8,000 and a 'Coco' box listed for b5,000.

When I went to ilikehd and signed up, I like their package the best. (how do I see the full list of channels in global TV?)

Global TV seems more expensive. ilikehd seems to charge b350 for the international package. Unless I am reading it wrong, does 1 point = 1 baht?

On Thai X expat TV, they are selling an X7 Mini box for b5,500 for box only and b7,000 for box plus three months service.

Sooo, I think the choices for boxes are

    M8 from jsat = b8,000

    Coco from jsat = b5,000

    M7 from thaiexpat = b5,400

    global tv = ??

The X8 seems slightly more advanced than X7, but not sure it has an SD card reader like the X7 does.

My question is, can I buy any of these boxes and sign up for the service I like, which seems to be ilikehd? (but their website is the worst of them all!!) If the X8 comes with xbmc loaded and gives me additional choices, it could be worth the extra baht, but not sure at this point .

My two penneth for what it is worth. Jsat box was 7000bt a couple of days ago on promotion. So maybe if you jumped in quick maybe can still get for that price.

Global TV box = 7200bt Which looks like an unknown quantity?

Check the link for package details. There are 5 deals starting from 15 euros (631bt) rising to 25 euros (1,052bt). At first I thought it was pounds, so euros not quite so bad.

    Check link below.

    http://www.watchglobal.tv/

As for your question. Can you buy the box then do your own thing. Sorry that is also what I am trying to find out. Although I think the answer is yes you can. I don't really know. Have you signed up to the XBMC forum that looks helpful?

I am about to check out the iliked web site.

    jb1

  11. Say you buy the M8 xmbc box. You are still able to sign up for services such as ilikehdtv using that right?

You seem be be on about the same wave length as me. Maybe a bit higher?

I also think I am edging towards the M8. This is the same cost as the guy on globalTV charges. Don't know if they are the same?

Problem for me is I live in Bang-Saen so it could mean a visit to jsat in Bangkok or there is a guy in Pattaya that sells the IPTV boxes. Although quality unknown?

    best of luck.

  12. 150kg!!!! that is a huge amount of heroin. According to a quick google, the biggest heroin bust ever was in San Francisco in 1991, when a shipment of about 500 kg being shipped from Thailand was seized.

If this figure is correct, this must be one of the top 10 biggest busts ever. I'd be willing to bet that the reporter either mixed up his units or slipped a decimal point.

I saw it on television last night,:it was a very large bust.

But once again the authorities through away the opportunity to catch the big guys. Why?

  13. To learn a bit more look at this FAQ or here on xbchub.com which also has many howto guides etc .. Sorry I have not thought of doing either a seminar nor iptv guide, as the later imho has been done to death.

The only golden rule wither you get a free or a paid service, is that service will only be as good as your internet is regardless of any marketing spin you read. This springs to mind re the internet (spoiler alert - contains a bad word)

For those of you that use addons on xbmchub, (I also host a few of them) the numbers are huge. For the FTV Guide (see image below) it has had over 2,400,000 download this month making it one of the most used out there.

    Thanks for that joncl.

I will give it a look and hopefully learn something.

I am not particually after a free service. Plenty of varity (as in channels) plus EPL and F1. The later I would imagine I will need to pay for?

Just watched the vid. That I did understand.

  14. Shisha is already banned in Thailand!!! So now they plan to tax an illegal activity. I have never heard of anything so stupid!

Ah but if you read the post again, you will see where catch22 comes in to play. They intend to legalise it first.

They need the money. Don't be to suprised to find they legalise prostitution next.

  15. 5k on 78k is 6.4%...I thought the standard reward was 10%???

Who sets the "standard" for rewards that you seem to think starts at 10%?

No matter how much he gave it would never be enough for some people who have to jump in with critical comments. If he gave 10%, you can be sure the "standard" would be 20%.

The whining and whingeing here at TV is ceaseless and doesn't depend on any sort of logic.

10% is usually internationally known as the recomended amount to tip. In this instance surely should have minimum?

    jb1

  16. As per your PM on xbmchub.com we are happy to help, bring your notebook over here and we will show you what to do and get you started ..

    Joncl,

I am on the verge of going into IPTV. Not particually computer/ Hi-Tec savvy.

Have you ever thought of running a seminar. Or printing an IPTV guide for dummies?

I for one would subscribe. Would probably help save an headache or two.

    Cheers.
