I've suffered on and off for many years with IBS. It seems to be worse here than back in England. Would be very grateful for suggested remedies.
Hi chelseatops. I was diagnosed with ibs some time ago. my opinion, easy escape route for doctors, as it covers a multitude.
I eventually narrowed it down my self to a gluten allergy.(wheat, barley, oats and malt) Went back to doctors armed with my findings, they eventually agreed with me after many tests. It's worth putting yourself on a strict gluten free diet. Not as difficult to do in Thailand as in England. If gluten is the problem
you will know within a couple of days.

So was there any real rain to be had, in the lower northeastern areas - Surin, Sisaket & Ubon Ratchathani, its hard to get any real info
Hi jbl.
I have been in constsnt communication with g/f since post. She tells me no signifagant rain in Chumphung. (Khorat) They are getting desperate.
-
Been flooded about 5 times in the last 10 years. Som nam na. You need to ensure your house is raised enough so you dont get flooded. Good rule of thumb is to raise the house to the same level as local roads. Thailand will always have flooding; just learn to live with it.
Quite right Mai Chai. I'm sure no one would have built without looking around the first! would they?

But what does all this mean to those that really matter. The ordinary person on the street?
I just hope it's not all going to end in tears.

Your confusing visa on arrival and visa exempt entry. They are not the same.
Visa on arrival is reserved for nationals of about 15-20 countries, mostly Eastern Europe, and allows those travelers to obtain a 15 day visa at the entry point by paying for it and providing an application and photo. It is not available to other travelers.
The visa exempt entry that most of us are familiar with provides a free, formless entry of 30 days if we meet the conditions. This is open to about 40 countries at present.
Hi Lopburi,
Thanks for clearing that up.

Got friends coming over and want to stay in Hua Hin a few nights anyone know a decent family friendly hotel close for the Jazz Festival for around 1500-2000 baht per night.
Thanks for any help forthcoming.
Hi Kevc.
When in Hua Hin, I like to stay at P P Villa also known as Phuang Phen, on Damnoern Kasem Rd. I stayed there recently. Room 950Bht.
I highly recommend it. Freindly staff and clean.

Indeed there is a Royal Thai Consulate on Bali and no he can not obtain the 15 day visa on arrival which is what that desk in arrivals is for.
Hello Lopburi,
You mention a 15 day visa on arrival at airport, please correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought visa on arrival was for 30 days ?
Many thanks jb1

Hi folks. I was in Hua Hin, at the begining of this year (jan) price of 3bed bungalow, 2bathroom approx bht 2.8 million.
Last month same property about bht 3.4 million. If in fact they are realising these prices, .6 of a million, looks ok if
investing. Best regards jb1

'fraid so Jim, the days when owning property could assist with getting a visa are long gone
Also the 800k has to be in the account for 3 months before your application :D
Crossy is correct about property not counting anymore. If you only have say an income of only 40,000 per month then the amount in the bank should be the difference of 65,000 minus the 40,000 times 12 or 300,000. Hope that makes sense to you.
Hiya Rdrokit.
Thanks for that for that. I take it the balance of 300,000 to use your figures. Would still need to be in bank
for three months. Best regards jb1.

I now come to see my G/F and enjoy everything Thai. But soon i will be coming home to stay

Hi folks.
Can anyone help. I was wondering does anyone know, if you still need, 800,000 bht deposited in bank account or 65,000 bht per month,
if you own property in Thailand. Best regards jb1.

Hi folks.
Can anyone help. I am thinking of buying a property in Hua Hin. Using a property lawyer, to draw up
contracts. The builder, tells me the best method of purchasing land. Is to buy in my girlfreinds
name, then lease from her. What i would like to know is this method legal, under Thai law.
Best regards
