  1. I wonder if this will give him enough time to leave the country and wait out the statute of limitations? I heard there are vacancies for foreign rapists in the north of England.
  2. That's a lot of pork, and a lot of brown envelopes! And I guess they got caught in the end as something didn't smell fishy?
  3. Take it down before it falls down and kills more people. By all means replace it with a memorial. All to be paid for by those responsible for the disaster (or who through their failures enabled it), and not a single penny from the UK tax payer.
  4. The retailers seem to have a valid point.
  5. I wonder if there are others in the room when this photo was taken? Potentially some armed officers? Who I'm sure would just love this guy to make their day... https://youtu.be/xN4zDfyFg_4
  6. Might there be more to this story than this single incident? I can't believe this would happen in isolation.
  7. Please can the Rest of the World take note and look at doing the same? Get back to meritocracy, dump DEI and outlaw nepotism if the candidate isn't the best.
  8. Yeah. I hope the baby isn’t thrown out with the bath water, but I see plenty of positive action so far.
  9. Can we throw in Cumbernauld to sweeten the deal? https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/scottish-news/14049527/scotlands-uglist-town-cumbernauld-dump-demolished/
  10. Of course, I agree with you. I just wonder if there's some medical issue that he'll claim, or some other weaselly gimmick that the defence will try.
  11. As of now £23,683 raised. A lot of love for this guy. RIP.
  12. Let's hope he can make clear promises regarding these issues that he is able to keep.
  13. I read that USAID has been given sizeable amounts to a British organisation called BBC Media Action. That really surprised me. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clyezjwnx5ko https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaaction/ No great surprise that the US Government is looking hard at USAID, but I'm sure that USAID is doing many good things that should be allowed to continue.
  14. Network Rail is spending money on this, whilst not spending enough on the aging rail infrastructure that it is accountable for. Sad.
  15. What emoji should I use for the gratuitous usage of French? Asking for a friend... 🤭🇫🇷
  16. Not a single chance I'm going to defend China on this, but when I sit back and think about it I remember reading about many of the human rights abuses my country of birth has meted out over the centuries and more recently. 2 wrongs don't make a right of course.
  17. If not being able to get PR is a big issue to me, then I won't move to Thailand. Simples. If I lived there and I decided it was a big issue due to hassle of renewing/maintaining then I'd move. It's unlikely I'd bitch about it too much, I'd either accept it as outside of my control so why bother, or I'd move.
  18. Good. I hope the money saved on this is used to improve front line services. Interesting. Not sure this is quick enough to help his/her/they/them's reelection effort though. And Buttigieg's failure in his/her/they/its/them's oversight of the FAA may be front and centre of his reelection failure.
  19. Who trained and who supervised this inexperienced social worker? Was evidence of the previous issues made clear to this inexperienced social worker? If the judge had gone against the Social Services Report could the family have appealed and the judge be criticised? Many more questions on this too. Bit of a contradiction here, but surely even judges have performance appraisals and reviews of their work? I recently read a book about the UK's Parole Service, and it appeared that there were reviews if something went wrong in that service. As with many recent child sex abuse cases in the UK, I wonder if the parents' racial background had a bearing too? All in all, a complete shambles, AGAIN, in the UK care services. But, of course, I'm sure 'lessons will be learnt so they don't happen again'. 🙄🙈
  20. Reminds me of this sculpture in Berlin (I think), where politicians talk as the world's oceans rise.
  21. I reckon it should be past tense, not present tense 😂 Not meaning to be rude to you cdemundo.
