I'll try to look at this from a different angle. I have stolen something (actually I have not, but bear with me). That is a criminal act. But, I have not been tried in court according to due process and found guilty of theft beyond all reasonable doubt. So, am I a criminal? From my point of view of course I am. I know what I did. But someone who doesn't know me may think I am not yet a criminal as I'm not convicted?

My main memory is absolutely NOT this, it ranks quite low on a list of my memories of that trip - but mentioning all of those would be off-topic and there's enough facts around for people to learn for themselves. You make a good point on men and women playing together. Hockey has plenty of mixed events, and even at least one international. The international is played with normal rules, but the selectors are sensible and won't pick idiots. A local mixed league where I live bans any player from hitting the ball to keep it more safe. This league operates year after year, so it works well!

The old trams got ripped out in 1956. New service opened in 2014, which most folks in Edinburgh felt was not needed and a waste of money as the bus network is so good. I went to Auschwitz about 12 years ago. A very sobering trip. I did a group guided tour, led by an Israeli lady. One thing that still stands out to me today was her admission that many Israeli schools teach their children that it was only Jews who died at Auschwitz. Really? I think you are comparing apples with elephants. Two wholly different statistics. Yes there were a lot of illegal entries, but they were stopped and sent back. Apart from the 9 mentioned in the OP that the immigration authorities stopped but released for the reasons given. So, different statistics. As for the mathematics? I don't expect a politician to be accurate of wholly honest on pretty much anything, so I would never bother to check their maths. Of course, that's 9 that they know about, there might have been many others who have totally evaded the authorities, we don't know that and neither would the politician; and even if they did they wouldn't likely admit to it.
