  1. I have seen sorting waste bins at Thai airports. But unsure if it works in Thai town. Unsorted garbage bag is the source of revenues to the urban scavengers. Every time they spot these things, they come to check out if there is anything they can collect(cans, bottles, plastics, and cardboard boxes) and sell to the recyclers. These people may not be happy with this proposal; losing their livelihood.
  2. Lucky none of the vehicle was carrying high flammables(e.g. LPG). Reminds me of the BKK Gas Explosion in 1990. This accident was depicted in a ghost movie.
  3. Exactly. The truck on the right side is just an innocent victim. Because of the stupid turn by another(from the left), the driver had to make an evasive movement. But not enough space for him. So his vehicle crashed into the building.
  4. a motorcycle taxi driver who witnessed the incident, stated that the tourist, who appeared very drunk, had stopped to rest while waiting for transportation back to his accommodation. The alleged perpetrator, who is known to frequent the area, noticed the tourist’s condition and approached him under the guise of offering help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looks like that European man was well picked up by the sensor of that career criminal as The Easy Prey.
  5. Over Relaxation. Heavy Intoxication. Rough neighborhood. Big Loss Triangle in tourist destinations while abroad.
  6. Machets are often seen in Thai kitchen(used for chopping up meat and vegetables).
  7. gunman under the influence of drugs, Residents have been urged to exercise heightened vigilance and take necessary precautions for their safety. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Likely Methamphetamine? It often promotes aggressive behavior, combined with paranoia. Is it OK for armed civilian vigilante to take care of this kind of SO* in Thai laws? In this kingdom, even unarmed people often exercise strong sense of justice in emergency forming an instant coalition with the people nearby(e.g.grabbing at thieves on the spot).
  8. Bike repairers from the engineering high school might be better off than those degree holders lacking expertise. Abundant job opportunities throughout this kingdom. And its demand never dries up irrespective of the state of economy.
  9. Pay rise usually follows the improved productivity. But no Vice Versa. Pay rise without higher work performance often comes with negative result. During the previous Pheu Thai administration(before military takeover in 2014), they raised the commencing salary of the new college graduate to 15000B/month. And it immediately started to take its toll; curbing new hires for freshman. Headline issue didn't really start yesterday, but as early as decade ago.
  10. substandard modifications, such as improperly installed compressed natural gas (CNG) systems, pose significant hazards. A 2023 inspection in Thailand found that over half of the buses fitted with CNG tanks failed to meet safety standards. --------------------------------------------------------------- NGV push for 'Environmental Concern'. Turning Thai buses into Time Bomb on the road...
  11. No traffic cops in the streets. Reckless drivers/riders. Ill maintained autos. Road Death Triangle.
  12. Killing debtors and the money won't come back. Killing himself, money will be meaningless.
  13. drew a crowd of curious onlookers, including many tourists.. They definitely look like having fun watching it. Live Death Match for free. To most people, once in a lifetime event.
  14. The clash left two individuals injured and drew a crowd of curious onlookers, including many tourists. Street Fighters. First in video game by Capcom in 1987. Then into movie 1994. Now in 2024, Live Action in Pattaya without script...
  15. Police immunity stickers drawing cops' attention instead.
  16. The drunk(with drug habits) VS Sober junky.
  17. Tourism in Chiang Mai is now little affected by the flood in the recent past. Old city area is as bustling as it used to be. A chauffer driver in my neighborhood says he is so busy with tourist bookings that he now works 7 days a week.
  18. As early as in mid 1980s, I have heard of such a Sweat Shop in Guam(US territory) for garment industry. Slave laborers were forced to work for over 12 hours, 7 days/week.
  19. What makes them so keen to cut back own people's employment opportunities? If companies/shops are busted and face closure, it is Thai workers that suffer most(for job losses). Handing out some money to the poor, but trying to create greater poverty on purpose at the same time. This kingdom certainly cannot make up for tens of thousands of workplaces once they are gone. Once again, bureaucrats' Empty Pride is about to force needless pain among the common people.
  20. Unlike American colleges, Thais usually don't like Surprise Test.
  21. They look like M67 grenades. M67 grenade - Wikipedia
  22. That incident was certainly a tragic case. But at least, they could raise the alcohol safety concern(while abroad). That story can teach others to Be Careful for what they take to their mouths. So their deaths won't be in vain.. Condolences to those suddenly lost their lives.
