  1. Isn't it difficult? As everyone knows, Iran is one of the biggest oil yielders in the world. The demand for its resource never ends: Constant flow of Oil Money in their treasury.
  2. Traditionally, China has been a country of mass exodus since 18-19 century. So departure of its people itself isn't really new. Thailand is the right place for a lot of people to seek shelter; its tolerance of the people with different face, color, and culture. As well as its lower cost of living(compared to the 1st world).
  3. Escaping from the rat race. A good quote. There are several Chinese nations in my apartment (Chiang Mai). Some are retirees over 50. Some are younger. One of the young ones called himself Tam Ping(Lying Down). An emerging life style among young Chinese in recent years. Getting off their unrewarding social system: Practicing Minimalist way of life instead. As far as I can see, they are living a peaceful quite life here. Hardly look like trying to take over this place. While there are some young entrepreneurs(e.g.opening a Chinese restaurant outside old city area). entrepreneur
  4. Thais in Hamas captivity. One most upsetting issue from the Israel-Hamas battle, to me. These terrorists are toying with the lives of poor innocent foreign workers who had no choice but to work abroad.
  5. Local police were alerted to the situation at Lan Sak market by a nearby vendor, who noticed the distressed child locked in a black sedan with the keys left inside. Today's Good Samaritan; observant vendor. Unsung hero of the day.
  6. CCP's silent declaration of war against Taiwan.
  7. New Year's Fireworks Display in their term... Does any of these boys' dad/mom work for film company? Or they won't easily get blank-firing gun(modified for movie/drama take).
  8. My English friend says he never want to return home knowing what it is like now out there...
  9. Now days in UK, they are said to be fast to crack down on the posters of critical comments related to their Muslim population alone. Looks like well demonstrated in this incident.
  10. MP5 is known for its near-rifle accuracy because of its mechanism(firing cycle starts with closed bolt). I felt FAL(AKA SLR) uncomfortable because of its trigger pull(too long, unlike M14, Mini-14, AR15).
  11. Quite a Kill Joy both to locals and tourists. Food vendors in Thai streets; Major tourist attraction of this kingdom.
  12. Their planes might be leaving on time now days. But their airfare refund(for flight cancellation by their own accord) takes ages. It happened to me in 2020. And took me 4 years till I get my money back; looks like they were waiting for the FX rate move strongly to the favor of THB.
  13. Back in 2006, I have heard one 65 YO Canadian(I met on the visa-run bus to Mae Sai) say he loses 30 pounds while he is here for 3 winter months with daily light exercise. Thai food is known to use a lot of oil. Still, a lot lighter (and healthier (with a lot of vegetables) than western dishes.
  14. One of my friends living in Bkk, took a refugee in Chiang Mai rural area to escape from the smog in the capital. He has been asthmatic since his childhood. Hope his condition will be stable.
  15. 100% irrelevant quote. As I don't consume any of such stupid drink. Therefore no need to ask anyone to dispose that empty can to your regret...
  16. The Law doesn't always protect the Law-abiding at the right timing. So some people resort to disregard it when they know they are in higher risk environment. Obviously something you hate to admit.
  17. I have been here nearly 20 years by now. And I never had to carry any anti-personnel weapons with me(except for my tear gas spray against violent dogs) either. You better know One Thing. Taxi/delivery drivers/riders are living with higher risks of encountering with violent RifRaffs than retiree expats. They cannot really choose the people they meet during their work. So I can't blame them even if some of them carry weapons(for self-defense) legally/illegally for emergency. I can well understand their needs. They often have family to look after and need to stay alive for them as well. Have you ever thought about that? Probably have never and never will. People of your kind often refuse to image environment other people have to live in(without choice). In other words, always looking at things through the narrow scope of your own. Someone else might need what you feel needless(to yourself). That is why you can insist on empty stance and express contempt with more empathy. That is all about being a Do-Gooder.
  18. Looking forward to hear that. Should face own consequence.
  19. Some do so with or without your approval. They are not bound by what your feel/think.
  20. If they had any weapons, they could well have a chance to fight back that thug. Fight the poison with poison or Get Even. That's the only way not to be unilateral victim in emergency when some idiot came to harm you. Unless you are happy to be aggressor's sandbag. Can't fix Do-Gooder who can do nothing but to report to the police after ended up as the Victim.
  21. I would rather headline like: Foreigner shot/stabbed dead after assaulting a Thai man. This is the kind of demise that sort of Low-Life really deserves. Also could function as a kind of deterrent. Blacklisting might expire in some time. But extradition in body bag stops it for good.
  22. Young tourist's death while riding motorbike here. Pretty common sort of tragedy in this kingdom. Quite a few non-riders back home allured by low-cost bike rental in Thailand. Hitting the unfamiliar road with different rules to reach nowhere...
  23. His ultimate intention: Destroying this kingdom from within. To ease the way to takeover by China. Quite makes sense as a loyal CCP puppet.
