You don’t seem to be able to think for yourself. If these drivers have never had an incident then I think that they have very good judgement. So you have worn your helmet and leathers and your little boots hundreds of times? Have you ever had an accident where they have actually saved you? Or, it reality never, so it is fair to say it was a complete waste of time and money? You would have been ok anyway. As are your in laws that you were criticizing.

One of my favorite things about Thailand is a good swim in Pattaya Bay. You have the sewerage overflow issues mixed with dodgy plumbing from many of the short time rooms going straight into the storm water and into the bay. The toilets from the tourist boats are also flushed into the mix as well as the illegally built restaurants and bars built on top of the beach at the southern end. Thus the water in the bay is a mixture of sperm, used condoms, turds, urine, street litter, motorbike and used cooking oils and cigarette butts. Depending on the time of year the flavors can vary between middle eastern, Indian, shower shy Russian or elderly European that seamlessly blend with the soapy Thai women, gay men and transsexuals body fluids creating a fusion to tantalize the taste buds that can not be found anywhere else on earth.

As a heavier set Brit in my 50s I have two choices. A heavier set British female, likely divorced and all the baggage that goes with it. Probably going through menopause. And with as much sex appeal as taking a dump. And incredibly boring and low energy. And nagging, oh gawd, the fkn nagging. If you replaced the “Russians” with Brits in the OP it would be taken down in a heartbeat. when Bob isn’t slagging off the Thais he is usually slagging off Russians or someone else. All with his head in the sand about how most people see us here and the constant trouble we cause. Despite Russians out numbering us by 10 to 1, we make the news more for crime and unsavory incidents in Thailand. And a big part of that is people like Bob and Richard always mouthing off, sticking their noses in and offering “advice” on how others should be behaving. My personal experience with Russians unless drunk they mind their own business and keep to themselves.
