There are no Chanotes for a house, only for land, and that will be in Thai name only.
My house is in my name, the Chanote of the land in Thai name. The house only can be in foreigner name if the building license was issued in the foreigner's name, and the land owner has to give permission for that. There is no mention of me owning the house on the Chanote, other than that I'm mentioned on the backside as the mortgagee to the owner. I have of course a building license issued by the local government in my name.
Once build it can not be changed anymore, because the house is part of the land..
