All these dire predictions of unrest are just fantastical fantasies. The bigger risk is that Trump and his new fake electors try and block the outcome of the election results again. Violence will lead to nothing, only many more incarcerations that will remove more of the radicalized freaks from the playing field.

Trump won't and can't win. He lost to Biden, who was an even older man than he in 2020. Now he's up against someone who is smarter, 20 years younger, more capable, and who isn't old and in advanced stages of cognitive decline. Trump also lost as an incumbent president in 2020 to a former vice president. If he couldn't win then as the incumbent then he has no shot at winning now. The people already showed that they didn't want him again in 2020, and his base has shrunk even more since then, with many republicans having openly flipped over to Harris. Plus he's never even once won the popular vote. The majority has spoken twice already. Now he is even older and far more deranged, so he doesn't have a chance, and this will be the second time he loses to a former vice president.

I think worry about social unrest if Trump loses is the kind of fear that Trump and his hardened supporters would like people to have. But it will turn out to be nothing. A few small protests at best, but nothing on the scale of what Trump would like for people to believe. The majority of American voters aren't violent. Only the ones who have been radicalized. And everyone saw what happened to the proud boys and oath keepers after the Jan 6 riot and those fundamentalist types are probably less willing to try their luck now. There have been a number of recent events where Trump asked his base to come out and protest to show their support for him and yet barely anybody ever turned up. The New York courtroom trials are a perfect example of this. Lastly, the National Guard will be very much on standby and high alert after the election if Trump loses. And they will be ready to take decisive action if anything escalates. If there are any small, armed, militias after the election then they will end up learning things the hard way. In my view, it would be foolish for the average American to try and do anything violent after the election in support of a Trump loss given the above. Anything is of course possible, but certainly not worth sitting around and worrying about. The odds are stacked against it.

Divisions will heal. Trump will be forgotten. His cult followers only need some new direction and then they will move on. You can't make everyone happy, but once people realize that everything is better without Trump, many will come around. People will tire of all the hate. Then this whole horrific Trump era period will get relegated to the history books as a bad glitch in the matrix that nobody will even believe festered for as long and far as it did. Like Nixon in a way, but it will be even more regretful for Americans.

Good point, but no benefit unless you plan to leave Thailand and transfer it back to a foreign currency. But the issue that is there are some foreigners on retirement visas who have their 800K Baht in a foreign currency deposit equivalent in Thailand. Suddenly the value of those deposits are nearly 10% less. So some of those people might find their deposits no longer meet the 800K Baht equivalent requirement and may now need to bring in more money to meet the guideline. This is why I think it isn't a good idea to keep your retirement visa money in Thailand in a foreign currency because you will always be subject to currency value fluctuations. People in those situations should always keep their balance at 15% higher than the 800K Baht equivalent to be safe.
