  1. I think there are many women who are afraid for their children from undocumented people arriving and have the right to protest about this, the protests involving these people were mostly without incident. As far as committing a crime, coming to the UK in a boat as an illegal immigrant is a crime which goes unpunished, well no in fact they are not punished but rewarded with a nice hotel. They claim they are running from tyranny, what crimes were being committed against them in France for example. And no I am not right wing for having these opinions, the socialists are trying to stifle our just concerns with tags such as 'racist'. I have many friends who settled here during the 1970's who came legally from India, Africa etc, they have prospered and their kids educated and are professional types adding value to this country but they are also very concerned about the illegal people entering this country. I winder if they are also called 'racist'. 😀
  2. Many years ago when internet shops were still around in Phuket, before mobile apps were around I remember two good looking Thai young women writing emails on the next computer, one was telling the other one what to write in English. Email 1:"David, I miss you every day, when you come Thailand, my heart wait for you." Then they giggled out loud. Email2: "Wolfgang why you not call me for one month, I wait for your only.............." Email3 to 6: Similar emails Then the phone rang on the phone of the girl who spoke English, "Oh darling you are at Bangkok airport, oh I miss you, you surprise me, tirak, I wait for you come soon, you come tomorrow, OK you come here quick". She put the phone down, I caught the eyes of both the girls and smiled in a knowing way, they laughed and said, "you not say anything", I said "OK" and they left. A friend owned a restaurant in Phuket for many years, he had friends who owned bars who told him all sorts of stories, on one occasion there were three guys sitting at a very large bar having come to see their Thai 'girlfriend', they had been told the girls had gone back home for three weeks as papa was sick, the thing was they were all told the same story, but it was the same girl they had all come to see, none of them at the time knew that fact.
  3. I did see a bloke smoking a fag in the street while I was there last week, does that count as a burning riot? Oops, our American cousins will think I am talking about a gay guy being murdered. 😃
  4. Which survey or set of data are you making that assumption with? I just got back after five months visit there and I did not come across anyone complaining about being second class, my friends and family included. No doubt losers who want things handed to them on a plate as they are too lazy to create their own lives will feel like that, that is because they act like second class citizens.
  5. I was there in May, I went to my brother in laws 70 birthday party in a pub in Yorkshire, I didn't see any aggression. Individual short term events do not make a nationwide revolution.
  6. I passed Trafalgar Square in London on the Sunday just gone on the way to Heathrow Airport, maybe the demonstrators were disguised as pigeons to fool the police. 😀
  7. I see you and your comment have been blitzed by the moaning minis with their negative thumbs down, they do make me laugh.😃
  8. Very true indeed. I went back to the UK for five months and have just got back, I saw a few protests on the TV like everyone else but did not see any difference in day to day life after being in Thailand for 2.5 years. I was in London, Ipswich, Yorkshire and spent most of my time in Chelmsford, Essex. Not a hint of a protest. I did hear roars now and then but that was when players scored a six at the nearby Essex County Cricket ground. The headlines should read, "There were a few hundred people involved in demonstrations today, the other 69 million people went about their normal peaceful lives". And it was the longest and hottest summer ever in England, months of sun and temps of 32C. But the usual negative types who like to find fault on this blog will carry on making a mountain out of a molehill. But they do make me laugh. 😃
  9. The UK for example does not have a constitution. It has a sort of constitution, but it is not codified in a single document as is the case in the USA. Instead, the UK's constitution is a collection of written laws (statute law), common law, historical traditions, and constitutional conventions, all of which have evolved over time to govern the country. And hence those laws can be changed thus changing the loose fitting so called constitution.
  10. I am not supporting any country or individual, my opinions are based on the obvious. Since you asked me directly which school I went to it was Oxford University (Trinity). Which school did you go to, one of those American schools which forces you pay an allegiance to the flag every morning and hate so called communists? A totally one sided half-education I bet. You asked "What ‘Western expansion’ are you even talking about?", well an example of that would be NATO for a start, look it up and see what it stands for as you probably think it is a football club or something similar. 😃 I doubt you even needed the lobotomy you mentioned in order to have such stupidity. I don't normally fall down to this level of rudeness but as that is the only thing you seem to understand judging by your rude comment, I reciprocated.
  11. I am not watching any particular TV channel related to this topic, I do not know which channel @GammaGlobulin is referring to? My opinions are my own.
  12. Move to Phuket, there is a 7 km walk around the reservoir in Kathu, most of the walkers are Thai, there is a road for cycles and walkers, you may be passed by three slowly driven cars on average as you walk the circuit. Tarmac road, trees overhanging most of the circuit hence shelter from the sun, we do it on a daily basis.
  13. True, look at what happened during the countries who were The Allied Force in WW2, shortly after the war was over in Europe the Russians became the enemies. When the Americans won the world war in the Far East they quickly gave support to Japan in order to stop the Russians moving in. Even now after decades of pushing the Russians into a corner by the expansion of the West forcing Russian to invade Ukraine in order to gain land as a buffer to our expansion we blame them for the war and think we are innocent of any hostile action against them.
  14. You wrote, "I do not care because... I always have China to fall back on when the west collapses." Once the union of China, India, Russia and the other countries form the alliance they have now started in the near future and become the powerhouse of the world, do you think they will be stupid enough to take in Western refugees as you are suggesting? We will be their enemies not allies.
  15. Good news regarding the Indian speaker. Let's see if it works out in reality. I know hundreds of people of India origin who went to the UK in the 1970's from the plight going on in East Africa, each generation since have become qualified professionals, as have their children ..... All paying taxes, and adding to the value of the UK. I am just against undocumented boat people who turn up without a passport, they could be anybody, people also forget once in the UK they can then apply to bring the rest of the family with them. And which country are the illegal boat people escaping from plight, France it seems but the last time I looked France seemed to be a safe country.
  16. If the world was as simple as it seems to bloggers on this forum, then the world would also be a simple place. For example the UK is trying to arrange a trade deals with countries such as India worth billions each year, that will be impossible to implement if we block all visa applications to the UK from India.
  17. Most of the thousands of Chinese I see on holiday in Thailand each year seem pretty happy to me. They have a semi socialist system as far as economics go, they have tended towards a form of capitalism for decades thus their very fast growth in living standards and market share worldwide, we in the West can only dream of their growth rates year on year. But as long as we keep on following rubbish phrases like the American Dream and that the Chinese and socialists are the baddies we will be kept in place by our own system. They seem like a very united country to me not divided like a lot of Western countries, but time will tell, I know which side I would bet on to be the dominate state in the near future.
  18. True. There was no expansion West when the Brits were in charge, but the settlers wanted to travel West and steal the natives land, the Brits had agreements with the natives not to do so and kept to their agreements. So the locals decided to seize control and so the war began, the British rulers were thrown out and the settlers then went on to murder millions of natives and took their land. Not long after the locals had learned to enjoyed the killing and so had a civil war as well. 😃
  19. The problem is who decides what racism is and who is the judge and jury. In the UK if you are white and you say for example you have had enough of the illegal immigrants who are mostly young men stepping off a dingy in the UK, who are then housed and taken to a nice hotel to stay in for free for a year or two then we are racist. Some of them are even housed in hotels in the expensive sea side resort of Bournemouth. If we say some of our pensioners are dying in the winter due to the fact they can not afford to heat their home and must come before illegal so called refugees then we are again racist. I have many friends of Indian origin for example in the UK, they are the biggest racists on the planet What I like about Thailand is for us long term farangs living there everything is in the open, racism is there for us to see and understand, we can stay as long as we pay our way, can never get a Thai passport under normal circumstances, not able to vote etc, but I like that as the Thais then know we are not scroungers. Everyone in the government is Thai, all the newscasters on TV are Thai and they must have very white skin, no brown Thais welcome, it is funny to see. Be as we know we are only an aeroplane ride away from home if anything turns bad. I will be back in the land of sun next week for a year or two or more, let the fun begin.
  20. At the moment the USA, but inexorably will be replaced by China in the not too distant future. Plus due to the recent import tax policies of the USA, China, Russia and India are now pulling together into a financial union, that will make them the most powerful trading block in the world. China has huge a military, has expanded its navy massively so in the near future the USA will have not have the power or strength to try and dictate its policies. Like the British Empire, the USA empire has had its day, now it will soon be Asia's turn.
  21. So you are agreeing with the comment then. When people are picked due to diversity then it is a down hill slope, if a Chinese person, a Korean is chosen due to their ability then they have not been choses because of diversity but due to their ability. Giving jobs to people due to diversity means ONLY choosing a person because they are not white.
  22. Ah-a!, a good pop group from the 1980's a few good songs.
  23. I wonder which person gave your comment a thumbs down, now let us see,..... erm.......... I think there is a Culture Club song about him: Gamma, gamma, gamma, gamma, gamma, gamelion he comes and goes, he comes and go-aa-ose. 😃
  24. "Did you not say that you could not remember?" Erm, no "How do you even recall a memorable night that you cannot remember in the first place?" I remember the night out, but I do not remember waking up in the middle of night and going upstairs to another room thinking it was a toilet, and then probably got into the bed in that room. What happened to your so called Genius, does it come and go as my comment was straight forward, I did not mention saying I can not remember the night out. 😀 I do have a masters degree in software engineering from Oxford University, plus 30+ years in the field but I would never dream of thinking I a super clever or giving myself any other tag like that, only Einstein types are geniuses.
  25. True, only idiots think they are geniuses as they don't know what they don't know, and what they do know or are capable of doing is probably very limited. True Geniuses like Einstein are few and far between.
