  1. I've seen many people mention it being enforced. Mostly at Chiang Khong.
  2. Not quite correct. The time you have to show that the funds came from overseas is when you are trying to convert from a tourist entry (tourist visa or visa exempt) into a non-O from within Thailand at an immigration office. The money to apply for the 1-year extension does not have the requirement to show that it came from overseas. It just needs to be in your account for the required amount of time. The only other time you have to show that money came from overseas is if you try to switch to the monthly transfers method in the future. Then each of your monthly transfers (40,000 or 65,000 baht) must be coded as an international transfer.
  3. The BOI was telling people there was a path in the past. No idea if they are still doing so.
  4. Especially since he has his own funds seasoned already!
  5. The government has the cash to dosh out 10,000 baht to everyone to buy votes, sorry, I meant to boost the economy. Followed by tons of social media posts about people throwing parties and blowing it all in a single weekend on beer. Yet they don't have the money to continue to pay out the paltry social security that they offer, which most of is likely actually going into the local economy for survival rather than to corporate monopolies that funnel all the money to the top 1%. But the government is doing exactly as their corporate and other overlords demand. Same around the world, so it's not really a surprise.
  6. You cannot change to a new visa, no. If you were on a work extension, you might be able to apply for a new extension for a different reason. If you were on an extension, check with your immigration office if they will allow you to apply for an extension based on being married to Thai. If so then ask them for the list of requirements so you can prepare everything. But a marriage to Thai extension requires you to have had 400,000 in a Thai bank account for 2 months at the time of application, so if you don't already have that setup and ready to go, you won't be able to apply and would have to leave Thailand and reset your status and start over.
  7. Shouldn't be any issue in using them for a visa application.
  8. Employees of BOI companies automatically get between 7-21 days to remain in Thailand after their work permit and work extension is cancelled.
  9. Instead of asking people here, you can just got to your immigration office and ask them for their handout of requirements to convert from visa exempt to non-o based on marriage. They will give it to you and you'll know EXACTLY what you need since each immigration office can be different.
  10. While it may be possible, is there a reason you don't just get the non-O visa online through the e-visa system before you go to Thailand? It'll save you 2 trips to immigration and a lot of wasted time.
  11. There are no entry auto-gates. Those are only for exiting Thailand.
  12. I hope and pray they don't do this one. It's already complicated and confusing enough for people with how often they flip-flop the number of days and list of countries. To have 3 separate lists of countries (VOA, Visa Exempt 30, and Visa Exempt 60) would make it exponentially worse! All or none! And leave the list of countries alone as well!
  13. It doesn't matter how tight-fisted or open they are with the funds. Anything needed over setting up the bare minimum application goes into brown envelopes for the bonus fund for higher level officials.
  14. Enjoy your drive into the immigration office when they reject your report and give the reason that you didn't apply within the window for that immigration office. Each immigration office sets their own policies and procedures, and each immigration office processes the online 90-day reports for their province. You can go argue it with them if you'd like, but I don't think you'll get very far.
  15. Thai Visa Centre offers services throughout all of Thailand, but unless you're in Bangkok you will have to mail your passport to them in order to get your visa/extension since that's where their operation is. They're a legit agent, you should able to find reviews online. Though you wrote "Thai Visa Center" which I don't know about. I only know about "Thai Visa Centre." so you might want to double check the spelling of the agency name to see if it's the known one or not.
  16. You overcomplicated it far more than necessary. You did not have 2 90-day reports. The new one you received from your extension was the only valid one. The date on that one was your next report date. The e-mail you received is nothing but a timer put into the online system, it has no idea that you already had a new superseding 90-day report. People that leave Thailand still get those e-mails because the system is not connected to anything.
  17. It's the TM30 you are talking about. I believe Jomtien does not require you to re-notify if you return from domestic travel. But you might not be able to file a TM-47 (90 day report) online if your most recent TM30 does not match your address that you file your report for, so it might be better to get a new TM30 if your landlord is registered online, since it will only take them a moment to update it.
  18. Unless they're from a couple of Asian countries, no one gets 30 days anymore. It's 60 days for visa exempt since July 2024.
  19. That post about DTV in Chiang Mai can be safely ignored. All of the people were of the same nationality traveling in a group. It's an abnormality and not something that anyone should expect.
  20. You don't have to leave the country to ask a question to an embassy? That doesn't make sense. Look up the contact information for the embassy you would use and then contact them and ask them a question. Location is irrelevant.
  21. Were you also asked for proof of 10,000 baht and proof of onward travel out of Thailand? That seems to be on the slip of paper they have been handing out to people.
  22. I've gotten a residence certificate from both Bangkok (One stop service center) as well as Chiang Rai (main office at Central). Both while on my LTR. Both of these were in December 2024. Bangkok will not give you a residence certificate if you're not residing in Bangkok. You must have a TM30 that matches the province/address of where you want the residence certificate for.
  23. Every immigration office is different. They all have different policies. But many more are switching to the 15 days before until 7 days before. Some still allow you to file online up until the due date.
  24. Just make sure you know the window for filing online for Bangkok. They only accept online entries from 15 days before your due date through 7 days before your due date. If you try to submit online 6 days before your due date, they will reject your application and force you to go in person.
