  1. yeah, i'm in a similar boat, 300gb intel ssd - none in stock, needs to be ordered. decent main boards, ram, video cards, all of it I've had to have them order. i can never get anything i want there.

no server hardware at all. it's frustrating when you need something now, and the best option is to wait 2-5 days for them to order it.

no one here sells anything high end, mainly because the only things that sell here are low end (the price for thais) and foreigners who know nothing about computers. they can't afford to stock high end hardware that doesn't sell fast enough, it'll devalue too fast.

  2. probably another year until anything happens.

also, tukcom took over the old building for free. they did a deal with the owners - since no one wanted it. think it was 3 years rent free then full price (or whatever) rent there after.

  3. what kind of game are you looking for? what's your skill level?

if you're looking for something simple, then K Stadium has a sunday night 7 a side league. i think the current season has just finished, but will start new again in a week or so.

if you're after a general kick around with a mix of average to good players (everyone welcome), then the Planet Football 11 a side team has a weekly training session open to everyone every tuesday and thursday night, 6.30 till 8pm, it's a 6 a side kick around.

if you're after an average 11 a side team then Pattaya City have a division 2 team, their home pitch is at the thai polo club.

if you want a competitive 11 a side team, then Pattaya City and Planet Football are both in division 1. both are very competitive and are after good players. div 1 and 2 are saturday leagues, planet football and pattaya city's home pitches and games are in pattaya, the rest of the game are away games in bangkok.

if you want a 6 a side game, wednesday nights starting in the new year (first or second wednesday of 2012 i think it starts) planet football starts it's next 6 a side league, to find a team there just go up on a tuesday or thursday night, they'll sort you out with a team to join.

the 11 a side league is on a end of year break for 3 more weeks. there'll no doubt be some friendlies happening in the meantime.

pattaya city also run practice sessions tuesday and thursday nights, i'm not sure where though. i'm fairly sure it's up soi siam though, past planet football.

K Stadium is on pattaya klang, if you head down pattaya klang from sukumvit, it's about 30-50meters before you turn left into Soi Bouakao.

Planet Football is on Soi Siam Country Club Road, Soi Siam is the first right after pattaya klang if you head north on sukumvit. the PF pitch is about 5km down soi siam, you can't miss it, just keep driving till you find it (on your left).

pattaya city's home pitch, the thai polo club, is fuc_king miles away. about 5-7k past planet football.. follow the signs.

the chang stadium behind tesco on sukumvit doesnt have any farang teams or leagues, only thai's play there, the grass/pitch is horrible (cheap)

  4. i went yesterday, took 20 minutes (3pm, go late in the afternoon when everyone has finished their first time testing), at 3pm there 1 person in line before me. you need 1 copy of everything per licence (residence, passport, medical, old licence). my old license was over 30 days past it's expiration. no need to re-test anything, no eye test or anything like that, just put the docs in, wait for photo, get license, leave.

  5. we pay 10k per month for a full time live in thai, helps take care of the baby, cooks, cleans etc.

doesn't sound like you need a lot done, you're probably better off just finding a part timer to come 3-4 times a week, pay her 300-500b a day.

  6. Very sorry to here that Theo007, a few years back we lived in a quite little part of Jomtien but saw the development and noise getting more every day so we took the plunge and moved to Ban Amphure, we have never looked back, quite, better air, lower temperatures and still only ten minutes to Makro/Lotus.

what's your internet like down there?

  7. Why wake up a 1 year old thread?

Most fora prefer you keep related items in one thread, not start several threads on the same subject.

sure... if it's something worth reading a reply to... but your reply was fairly pointless and really unneeded... so to dig up a year old thread for it was pointless. with some luck it'll get closed...

  8. 42 full time crossing guards (humans) at 6k a month each would run 250k a month, 3 million per year.

that's 40 years of full time employment for 42 people to stand there and actually stop traffic on demand.

at least that way they can see if the crossing project would work or not before dropping 130million up front.
