When a 7.7 Magnitude quake hit Myanmar yesterday - in pictures
Sierra Tango replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand News
I question your logic. The magnitude of an earth quake is a single value measured at the epicenter. This describes the size of the EQ at it's source. Shocks or tremours at various further distances are not measured in magnitude. -
BREAKING NEWS Skyscraper comes down in Bangkok earthquake
Sierra Tango replied to MalcolmB's topic in Bangkok News
Stop being an arrogant, argumentative ass. A fair assumption would be that many people have lost their lives today due to this event and all you have to contribute is a total lack of empathy for the victims and disdain for anyone who has the audacity to voice an opinion, right or wrong, as to the root cause of a building collapse. -
My wife went to the dentist - Not sure what to do next.
Sierra Tango replied to tomgreen's topic in Health and Medicine
Yes, it is called a crown and I have a few. It depends on what is left to be able to screw the post into but, B 12,000 was the last one around 7 years ago, so add a bit for inflation. -
Looks like definitely connected.

Do I Have to Carry My Passport
Sierra Tango replied to NickyLouie's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have, over the last 30 or so years that I have lived and worked here, never been asked for my passport. I have been pulled over in more traffic stops than I care to remember but never once asked for my passport. My Thai drivers license is all the police have ever wanted to see. However, I would consider carrying a photo copy or photo of my passport in my phone if I didn't have any other Thai photo ID. -
Interesting... I followed the then, Thai Visa, news reports and some of the comments for a few years, when I was working and never bothered to join, as my spare time was limited. There were a few big characters / personalities posting in those days, who seem to have disappeared but there were a coupole of absolute clowns, argumentative, self absorbed and competely irrational, at best. Since I have retired and decided to join the AN forum (the wisdom of which, I am still weighing up) I have noticed distinct similarities with some of the afore mentioned clowns. Big Nok and Thailand Ryan used to ooze nigh on word for word and child like temperaments akin to Harrisfan. Could he be the reincarnation of the village idiot brigade or perhaps not, he does come across as very feminine and with a very low IQ.

I did a search for a post on tea bags. Looking for some decent black tea bag options in Thailand. So, I'm pleased to, hopefully revive this thread that appears to go back to eary 2024. Has anyone found any better tea and if so, where? I did look up wergeordies previous recomendation, Nookies but sadly, Paul has passed on. I have found some options for Tetlys and TyPhoo on Lazada which have to be better than Liptons, my only current choice locally. Any suggestions, please?

Well, I'll be..... look at all you precious, candy assed Americans frothing at the mouth and fizzing at the bung about who is right and who is wrong. From a mutual observers view it looks like a whole bunch of 5 year olds bitching over nothing. Y'all flare up at some sensational headlines and then go berserk at each other like a second rendition of Lord of the Flies. JeeZuz H Christ!

Indonesian Coffee is the best, really. Kopi luwak, also known as civet coffee, is a coffee that consists of partially digested coffee cherries, which have been eaten and defecated by the Asian palm civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). The cherries are fermented as they pass through a civet's intestines, and after being defecated with other fecal matter, they are collected

Does the inequality ever make you uncomfortable?
Sierra Tango replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Agree. Where I am there are probably more 7/11's than expats who live here. Impossible that Thai's don't like shopping there or don't like the food. In reference to the original post, get over yourself. Living here and spending your money here is contributing to the Thai economy. I always tip for good service, where ever that may be and that's always appreciated of course. -
Thaksin Investigation Stalled by Legal Hurdles, Says NACC
Sierra Tango replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When asked about the responsiveness of the Department of Corrections and PGH in providing necessary documentation, Saroj confirmed some documents had been received. However, there remains ambiguity over whether they meet the full requirements originally set out by the NACC. Translate as, not enough brown envelopes have been received. -
Agreed, 1946 to 1964 is the official period.
