I have, over the last 30 or so years that I have lived and worked here, never been asked for my passport. I have been pulled over in more traffic stops than I care to remember but never once asked for my passport. My Thai drivers license is all the police have ever wanted to see. However, I would consider carrying a photo copy or photo of my passport in my phone if I didn't have any other Thai photo ID.

Interesting... I followed the then, Thai Visa, news reports and some of the comments for a few years, when I was working and never bothered to join, as my spare time was limited. There were a few big characters / personalities posting in those days, who seem to have disappeared but there were a coupole of absolute clowns, argumentative, self absorbed and competely irrational, at best. Has anyone found any better tea and if so, where? I did look up wergeordies previous recomendation, Nookies but sadly, Paul has passed on. I have found some options for Tetlys and TyPhoo on Lazada which have to be better than Liptons, my only current choice locally. Any suggestions, please?

Agree. Where I am there are probably more 7/11's than expats who live here. Impossible that Thai's don't like shopping there or don't like the food.
