Just been to one of my favorite places frequented for years, never had a problem and always order 3 big beers, everyime I visit.. This time when it came to pay the bill she said I had 4, when I knew damn well I only had 3, cos that's all I ever have in this joint! An argument ensued, in which she was adamant I had 4 beers instead of 3, until her boss came over checked the bill and confirmed that I was right. She then left off in a fit of rage, almost in tears.. what is the solution to this kind of nonsense? Is it pay beer by beer or what? Which itself I have found an inconvenience, sometimes I have left after paying beer by beer before being asked 'have you paid your bill?... What the hell is wrong with these people? I've noticed in thailand that there seem to be two tyoes of expats : the strivers and the losers. The strivers can be seen at 07:00 in starbucks on their laptops, usually checking their stocks/crypto wallets to see how much they made overnight. They are usually well dressed, clean shaven, toned, and look like they have a brain. On the other hand you have the losers. these are usually fat old balding men sat in the bar at 9am having a beer, watching their lives slowly fade away into oblivion... SVK is a place I used to visit often when I was on a multi extension visa. Every time I visited it turned into a 48 hour sordid bender. Booze, birds, ladyboys, it really was a crazy place once you scratched the surface. I have no idea what it's like these days as i haven't been for years, but i would love to go into much more detail but I can't for fear of this post getting relegated to the lounge. All I can say is every time I went there I had a great time. Fear and loating in savanakhet we used to call it. It was as calm as a cucumber on the surface, but as wild as a scene from 'From Dusk Till Dawn' underneath... Regards, Bob.

It seems like relations between the US and Europe are now at an all time low. I understand both sides of the argument - trump is sick of sending money to Ukraine for nothing in return, whilst Europe need to do all they can to protect themselves from a mad dictator just a stones throw away.. I think things are about to get really frosty between Europe and the US. If the US doesn't support Ukraine and Zelensky anymore then just stop supporting them, cut off all funding and focus solely on domestic issues instead of destabilizing the rest of the world....At the end of the day, it is a war being raged in Europe and the Europeans themselves should band together and get it sorted between them. regards, bob.
