  1. How is this a new low? Makes no sense at all. Surely the attacks on Oct 7 were worse than switching out a body.
  2. But on fully paid tickets you also get a ticket number.
  3. Correct, with that site and similar sites you get a booking reference, but not a ticket number. No ticket is ever created. They just make reservation and then never ticket it. Most airlines fall for those fake tickets. I don't think we have ever seen a case reported here of denied boarding with one of those reservations. If you aren't comfortable with that like me, book a ticket with priceline and you get a little longer than 24 hours to refund it. Can be up to 72 hours if weekends are involved. Or book a fully refundable ticket--Delta has fully refundable tickets from Thailand to US with easy refunds.
  4. No. 14.28% AN readers just like giving ridiculous answers to polls, so the poll results are wrong.
  5. There are no retirement visas to Vietnam. It's tough to stay longer than 3 months. Not many foreigners live here permanently. Most long term foreigners are like me, digital nomads who stay 3 months then move on elsewhere. Basic western food like peanut butter, pasta is available at supermarkets. The selection is certainly better than on Koh Chang, but not nearly as good as bangkok, pattaya, etc. Cost of living is similar to Thailand, probably a little cheaper. It depends on the quality of place you are looking for.
  6. I hate trump, but anyone blaming him for inflation in his first month is just not capable of thinking.
  7. I use grab app with my US phone number. No need for a Thai number. The app sends a text when you first install and signup, but they can do that at home before the trip if they want. For sims, I use e-sims bought online these days. I would recommend airalo.com. I'm often traveling to multiple countries in the region, so I get one of their data only regional e-sims good in most of Asia. If they are using a lot of data, it would cheaper to get a Thai specific sim though. The airport taxis in Thailand are some of the worst in the region. They like to play the game of hide the meter and try to overcharge new tourists. Many also don't know how to use gps and can't find smaller hotels. Better they stay at a decent sized hotel for the first night and insist on the meter.
  8. International foods can be hard to find in Phils, completely the opposite of Thailand. Any of the big supermarkets in the nicer malls would probably be your best hope. I would try Rustans or Landmark.
  9. You wrote this nonsense on a Thailand focused message board? You must be joking. Thailand and many other countries have a long history of transsexuals. The place was full of ladyboys when I first visited 40 years ago.
