  1. That's exactly what I said I'm doing. Everybody should do it, if such a phone call is a possibility.
  2. It is a sad fact for those that live far away from an ageing parent, that one day or night they may very well get a phone call telling them that they need to get back home IMMEDIATELY. I am preparing for such an eventuality, so that if the time comes, I know exactly what to do while one's head could be all over the place. Clothes into a suitcase, passport etc into a backpack and off to the airport. Not forgetting to get a re-entry permit while there. Counter located in the passport control zone 2, 4th floor of Suwannaphum, 1000 THB and copies of passport and visa. But booking immediate flights. For me, it would be 3 flights. One to Suwannaphum, then one main to SFO, then one domestic. What is the best way to book in a hurry? Websites such as booking.com or agoda or skyscanner? Wait until getting to Suwannaphum airport (one flight away) and just go to different airline counters and ask them? What are your experiences of booking immediate flights (or as close as possible) in such an emergency? Was it around the normal price, or was it much higher?
  3. That is true. But if it is free and the solar system doesn't include a battery, the point is to get the house as cold as possible for free in the daytime, so the evening aircons on in the evening and night time need to do very little work.
  4. 3 units a day doesn't mean much to me. The important thing is presumably what it can run at the same time. For example: 1 x 18,000BTU air con set to 16 degrees from sun up to sun down 1 big fridge 1 85 inch tv 1 computer All running at the same time during the day. How many Kw needed to run them all at the same time?
  5. Please link to these 400,000 Baht 40 Sq-Mt w/ separate kitchen in Bangkok, thank you.
  6. Good lord. 250 Baht is more than 4 large bottles of Chang in the 7-11 with a toasted sandwich on the steps outside.
  7. How much did each cost please? Both could be suitable for me.
  8. Just how many CDU and BC boxes are breaking on cars that are only 2-3 years old for there to be lots of Thais doing this service and why aren't they quickly fixed for free under warranty? No need to answer. We already know.
  9. Sure. Create one big Palestinian state in place of Israel. Israeli government and armed forces completely disbanded. Any Israeli passport holders are offered new lives in Western countries if they so wish. All Israeli military hardware is sold to fund it. Democratic elections with UN troops on the ground. Timeframe: 10 years.
  10. They could run the aircons all day for free, then the house is so cool by sundown that the nighttime aircons only use 1,000 per month, saving the 3,000. 🙂
  11. Whatever it is, the result is a lot of legs being opened.
  12. 64,000 6.2kw Listed as saving 3,000 per month. Which is about right for modest homes that don't have pool pumps electric cars etc https://www.lazada.co.th/products/on-off-grid-hybrid-inverter-6200-nm-eco-62kw-550w-10-i5184472859-s22012340021.html? Huawei 3 phase 5kw 10 year warranty 121,000 https://www.lazada.co.th/products/huawei-5k-3phase-sun-2000-5ktl-m13p550w-10-i5261573174-s22361988282.html?
  13. Our house has good insulation properties. Light A/C usage. Perhaps 7pm to midnight. With another 2 A/C 9-11pm. Computer and TVs used all day. The monthly usages maxes out at 479 units in May. 2200 THB 385 units in April 377 units in March. We'd probably turn on the A/C in the daytime if it's free from solar. We might well run at least one A/C 24/7 if it's free. I guess a 600KW set up would do? How much for: 1. A 600Kw setup with batteries. 2. A 600Kw setup without batteries. Bought and installed?
  14. One solar aircon. 60,000 THB Run for free at 16c from sun up to sun down.
  15. Are you not put off by driving a car that got a Zero Safety Rating?
  16. Good if you can charge it at home for free from your solar. Drive it until something important breaks and cannot be fixed because Neta is gone. You mightn't be waiting long. Or you might. A fair gamble for 219,000 if you can charge for free.
  17. That they use their discretion, above all other stated criteria, and this makes you absolutely furious is something you should really get mental health help with. 🙂
  18. not an assumption and not incorrect. Every extension is at the discretion of an IO, above everything else, whether that IO is the one dealing with the alien, their supervisor another. That one, you don't understand that, and two, get angry about your misunderstanding speaks volumes about you. 😞
  19. In Thailand, immigration discretion refers to the authority of immigration officials to grant or deny entry, extend stays, and make decisions regarding visa status based on various factors. While specific requirements for each visa type are detailed, immigration officers ultimately have the power to exercise judgment in individual cases. Extension of Stay: Extending a stay in Thailand is solely at the discretion of the immigration officer, and specific requirements may vary. In essence, while official requirements for visas and other immigration matters are clearly defined, the final decision-making power often rests with the immigration officer. Please educate yourself before spewing nonsense. Thank you. :)
  20. It most certainly isn't nonsense. The alien's extension of temporary stay application is done at the IO's discretion above anything else. Fact. 🙂 You're welcome. 🙂
  21. 'At the IO's discretion' 🙂
  22. They transfer the money to your account. Update the bank book, get a document from the bank etc. You transfer the money back to them + fee. They take the bank book etc to the IO.
