  1. Yes. The child needs to be fully legally signed over to you so the Thai parent has no legal right to them, in order to get a visa extension based on being parent to a Thai child.
  2. No. For extensions based on being the parent of a Thai child it only needs to be in the bank for one day. It is why IO's fight against giving these extensions. If they give them easily, every foreign father of a Thai child would be chasing them rather than marriage or retirement extensions that requires months of fund seasoning.
  3. No. To get an extension based on a child the Thai mother needs to legally sign the child over to you, so the mother has no legal right to the child, and you are the one and only legal guardian.
  4. The IO's may well tell you to get married. They generally don't like giving out dependency visas/extensions as the funds don't need to be seasoned, so the alien can just drop 400k into their bank account for one day every year, as opposed to 2 months for marriage extensions. A neat little work around. If the IO's didn't make it difficult almost every alien father would nullify the marriage and get annual extensions based on dependency and say goodbye to needing to season 400k for months every year. It's the reason IO's are often against it and what they say goes.
  5. What did you register at the local amphur, that you are the sole legal guardian and the mother has no parental rights over her child?
  6. The mother will have needed to sign over legal guardianship either in court or at the local amphur if the child is over the age of 7 (which has a special named form for it). It's typically an extension immigration are not too easy about granting.
  7. That's what the mother said. 🤭 No young mother from Buriram with a new farang ever lied about anything ever. 🙂
  8. Well, that young Chinese woman did pay 7k, or was it 70k, for a police car escort from Swampy to Pattaya a few years ago. Just go the agent route, the expensive ones, and it could probably be done like that, perhaps on official 'medical grounds'. I'm sure 50k would see them come to your home and take care of everything.
  9. They've got a huge fleet of brand new state of the art BMWs parked there. Presumably for the officers to go to foreigner's homes and do all the visa and extension stuff there for the sake of convenience? Book an appointment for an extension and on the date and time you choose their BMW arrives at your home with a few officers to politely check, stamp and take your documents, then return your passport to your home once granted? 🙂 German sense and efficiency to match their high end fleet of German cars?
  10. Don't forget your earplugs, nose plugs, hazmat suit and padlock for every pocket. Air China economy, may times never, ever be that tough. 🙏
  11. Search flights from Bangkok, as you'll likely be going there first anyway. Skyscanner. From CNX, 37000thb From Bkk, 21000thb.
  12. Who else has noticed this? The 3 local shops here have been out for more than a week. The online delivery application we use doesn't have them at supermarkets. I just stopped at Tesco and Big C, nary a carrot to be seen? Who else has noticed this and when will it end?? I guess we could use a substitute, such as a cucumber, but to be honest they go too far in and don't have the girth.
  13. An excuse they made up after meeting you. 🙂
  14. You seem to think that Jews weren't able to live there pre-1948. News Flash: They were. 🙂 If the correct single state solution happens, they still can, the exact same as any other religion, as long as they have Palestinian passports or long-term visas. 🙂
  15. Yes, I don't leave a space before a question mark. 🙂
  16. No, I despise Hamas and pity Palestinians because I am an intelligent unconditioned human. 🙂
  17. One state solution. All Israeli land become the official country of Palestine, all IDF military hardware is sold and the funds used to rebuild Gaza etc, anybody or families wishing to relocate will be relocated and settled in UN nations, UN boots on the ground, democratic elections, timeframe 10 years. Israel, and Israeli settlement really is an embarrassing blight on the so called civilized world.
  18. I hope the world can go Ikea-less one day.
  19. Someone's tried the Suckathon 3000 with 7 speed pulsating trachea.
  20. And then there are all the Thai born of Indian descent, that are called แขก (guest) for their entire life in their own homeland. Ohh, poor farangs crying at not being held aloft and carried through the streets on the local's shoulders for being so utterly superior. How horrid. 🙂
  21. The Go to another country, tell the locals how to behave brigade. 🙂
