Patrick Crusius walked into an El Paso Walmart and shot 45 Hispanics, killing 23. Robert Bowers entered a Pittsburgh synagogue that aided South and Central American migrants and murdered 11, including the rabbi. Cesar Sayoc sent bombs to 13 people Trump had called “enemies”. Christopher Hansson built a spreadsheet of politicians and celebrities he planned to kill, all of whom had been named by Trump as enemies or critics. Hansson even used the nicknames Trump had given these people, such as Pocahontas for Senator Warren. Trump’s hate speech also contributed to other crimes and potential crimes. He railed against judges and courts, and that led to the son of a New Jersey judge being gunned down in the judge’s home. His hate directed toward people such as Judge Merchan or mother and daughter vote counters in Georgia resulted in death threats. His rants against other critics, such as former DCI Brennan, Senator Schiff, SC Jack Smith and others have gotten each of them death threats. Trump’s rants against former Speaker Pelosi encouraged David DePape to break into Pelosi’s home and beat her husband with a hammer. Trump was highly critical of Michigan Gov Whitmer, calling via Tweet to “LIBERATE MICHIGAN”. Two weeks later armed right wingers attacked the Michigan State Capitol. A group calling itself the Wolverine Watchmen then planned to kidnap and execute Gov Whitmer. It's not a coincidence. It's clear what sets these terrorists off…Trump. But what is behind the losers tendency toward violence? What is wrong with these people that they are susceptible to Trump’s siren song of violence and retribution on his behalf? By and large these far right terrorists are losers. They have led failed lives. They are poorly educated, have achieved nothing of note since birth, and carry an anger born of frustration over their failure and mediocrity. They are ripe to be influenced and led. The tendency toward violence has long been there among the far right, but Trump has exacerbated it with his continual hate speech. It set off Patrick Crusius. It set off Robert Bowers. It set off Cesar Sayoc. It set off Christopher Hansson. It set off David DePape. It set off the 6 January terrorists. Within many MAGA cultists is another Bowers or Crusius waiting to come out.
