  1. In the postwar era massive government deficits started with Ronald Reagan. Under Bill Clinton, the USA had a balanced Budget. George Bush reversed that and massive deficits followed. Under Obama more deficits followed. But that was in the wake of the greatest economic crisis facing America since the Great Depression. Donald Trump cut taxes again with predictable results. It got worse because of Covid spending but that wasn't his fault. Nor was it Biden's who actually raised taxes on the wealthy to pay for expanded health care. Trump in his second term slashed taxes again with predictable results.
  2. The incumbent Governor is a Republican. Democrats hold a 21-19 majority in the state Senate. Democrats hold a 51-49 majority in the House of Delegates This is your idea of deep blue?
  3. Spanberger campaigned strongly against Trump. In competitive House of Delegates races incumbent Republicans are being tossed out. Give it up or provide some counter-evidence.
  4. Exhibition games in politics are called primaries.
  5. In all the races deemed to be competitive Democrats are ahead. That includes the seats now occupied by Republican incumbents. I used AI to pull all the evidence together since no once source seemed to be focused on this.
  6. Jewish physics anyone? The scientific exodus from Nazi Germany Beginning in 1933, hundreds of physicists and other academics fled the country, transforming their lives and the global scientific landscape. https://physicstoday.aip.org/news/the-scientific-exodus-from-nazi-germany Germany's prowess in science had nothing to do with the Nazis. It preceded them by decades. The Nazis kneecapped German scientific research thanks to their anti-Semitism. Or do you believe that scientific research in Nazi Germany benefited from the absence of Jewish Germans?
  7. According to Republican dogma, it's possible to pay for more stuff while having less money to do it with.
  8. Anyway, with the Democratic Lt. Governor's victory, it looks like Virginia will also be retaliating against Trump and the Republicans by doing their own gerrymandering in the House races.
  9. The Virginia House of Delegates is Virginia's equivalent to the House or Representatives. So far, in all raced deemed competitive, Democrats are ousting Republican incumbents.
  10. Mikie Sherrill wins NJ gov race after making campaign all about Trump https://nypost.com/2025/11/04/us-news/mikie-sherrill-wins-nj-gov-race-after-making-campaign-all-about-trump/
  11. The takeaway for Democrats is that making Trump an issue in an election pays off bigtme.
  12. Zohran Mamdani, a young democratic socialist who shot to stardom and shook up Democratic politics, will be the next mayor of New York City. Less than 40 minutes after the polls closed at 9 p.m. on Nov. 4, the Associated Press and CNN called the race for Mamdani, the Democratic nominee. Early voting totals showed Mamdani with 51.5% of the vote, far ahead of his next closest opponent, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo with 39.7%. Cuomo ran as an independent after losing to Mamdani in the Democratic primary. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/11/04/zohran-mamdani-wins-nyc-mayor-election/86311529007/
  13. Democrats scored a big win in the battle for New Jersey governor on Nov. 4, with reports showing voters elected U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill over former state lawmaker Jack Ciattarelli, a Republican ally of President Donald Trump who had embraced the Make America Great Again movement. Of all the 2025 off-year races, New Jersey was expected to be the best shot for Republicans, according to political forecasters who rated the race as leaning Democratic. Ciattarelli had for months tried to poke holes into Sherrill's record, arguing she was "out of touch" as he sought to anchor her to Garden State problems and the unpopularity of term-limited Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/11/04/mikie-sherrill-wins-new-jersey-governor-election/86983949007/
  14. Dick Cheney is now gone, but we will be living with his legacy for a long time to come. He wrote a playbook of how to exercise executive authority beyond constitutional boundaries and the rule of law. Donald Trump has added pages and is working on a sequel. https://archive.ph/5YEvt#selection-661.0-661.257
  15. No. This wasn't the end of the Ice Age. Right now we are in what geologists and climatologists call an interegnum when the climate warms up before cooling again. Worldwide, the average temperature has been very stable for the last several thousand years a period of warming. It's just recently, in line with climate scientists predictions from the 70's that warming has risen sharply. In the past when the Ice Ages ended when the those massive glaciers disappeared. Which, if they do, say goodbye to a whole lot of dry land.
  16. Putting Healthy Food within Reach for Those in Need SNAP provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget so they can afford the nutritious food essential to health and well-being. https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/supplemental-nutrition-assistance-program As for the rest of your nonsense. Right now the Child Nutrition program has untapped funds from tariffs. The Child Nutrition Program would only ultimately suffer if the Snap Program wasn't retroactively approved by Congress. In addition, Congress could always authorize makeup funding if it so chose. I grant you that with Republicans in charge, they might prefer to starve children instead.
  17. It would seem to me to be of more use in the vindictive/selective prosecution case. Whether it gets asked for is another question.
  18. Tell that to the Supreme Court majority which claims to hold to a doctrine of original intent.
  19. Thanks for the correction.
  20. That really wasn't the main issue headlined in the article.
  21. Judge says DOJ failed to give full transcripts of Halligan’s Comey grand jury proceedings On Oct. 28, U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie issued an order that said she needs to “determine the extent of the indictment signer’s involvement in the grand jury proceedings.”... Currie had ordered that by Monday, Nov. 3, the DOJ was to provide her with “all documents relating to the indictment signer’s participation in the grand jury proceedings, along with complete grand jury transcripts.” But on Tuesday, Currie issued a new order that said the material she received “fails to include remarks made by the indictment signer both before and after the testimony of the sole witness, which remarks were referenced by the indictment signer during the witness’s testimony.” https://www.msnbc.com/deadline-white-house/deadline-legal-blog/james-comey-grand-jury-transcript-lindsey-halligan-rcna241879 Oops!
  22. More chaotic than Trump? As chaotic as Trump? Is that even possible? https://finance.yahoo.com/news/contributor-trumps-tariffs-already-hurting-170000755.html
  23. I don't agree that being lying scum is grounds for prosecution. If that were the case, I can think of a certain current US president who would most certainly be liable to face prosecution for his multitudinous infractions.
