  1. I do wonder about the delusion entertained by Trump supporters that he won by a landslide. He didn't even get the majority of the popular vote. As for the people's decision...when Trump was campaigning he had to disavow project 2025 because it was extremely unnpopular with voters. Once elected, he instituted about 95% of it. So no, the voters may have voted for him, but they didn't vote for project 2025.
  2. Why should anybody takes Trump's solution seriously? Because his uncle was a genius?
  3. If you pay people sh%tty wages to teachers, you won't attract the best people.
  4. What's that got to do with the case against Laetitia Jones? That an experienced and highly respected prosecutor decided that there was nothing there tells us all we need to know. even if Trump gets some incompetent to try and bring the case to trial, it's virtually a sure thing that a judge will swat it down.
  5. As the former US attorney knows and you clearly don't, one needs strong evidence to make such a case. Only on one document out of many was it written that this mortgage was for James' primary residence. And that was only for the power of attorney document. and that document would not be taken into account when the bank makes a decision. None of the other documents made that claim. Good luck with trying to prove intent.
  6. Even if he had two fabricate evidence to do it.
  7. Sleazy, obviously. Criminal, not so much.
  8. You're quite right. We should definitely stage an intervention on riclag's behalf since this thread was launched by him.
  9. Did you miss the part about Holman accepting $50,000 in cash?
  10. And given that your understanding is based on no evidence, I think it's safe to say that it's a delusion, at best.
  11. Apparently, Trump has found the ideal replacement for Siebert: Lindsey Halligan "Mr. Trump said he would nominate Lindsey Halligan, a special assistant to the president who was on his personal legal team, to fill the role. Ms. Halligan, who spent much of her career as an insurance lawyer, has never been a prosecutor." https://archive.ph/YqQM0
  12. The group makes up what is called the “gig economy”. Its members do not have formal contracts, and yet they have become a crucial part of China’s labour supply, accounting for a quarter of the total workforce and two-fifths of it in cities. Although some of the group have moved from formal jobs to informal ones as they have aged, many are young, unattached men with dim economic prospects. Their progress, or lack of it, will set the terms for China’s future. https://archive.ph/h20wZ#selection-1259.0-1259.122 The work ethic in China isn't what it used to be.
  13. Trump Justice Dept. Closed Investigation Into Tom Homan for Accepting Bag of Cash Tom Homan, who was later named President Trump’s border czar, was recorded in September 2024 accepting a bag with $50,000 in cash in an undercover F.B.I. investigation, according to people familiar with the case, which was later shut down by Trump administration officials. The cash payment, which was made inside a bag from the food chain Cava, grew out of a long-running counterintelligence investigation that had not been targeting Mr. Homan, according to the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe the case. Mr. Homan’s encounter with the undercover agents, recorded on audiotape, led him to be investigated for potential bribery and other crimes, after he apparently took the money and agreed to help the agents — who were posing as businessmen — secure future government contracts related to border security, the people said. https://archive.ph/2L3Ux#selection-513.0-513.81

  15. Still, it should be good news for American workers. it would have made more sense to set a high minimum salary for H-1B workers. So that American workers can make decent money and still cost less than a foreign worker.
  16. I suspect that a lot of corporations will be opening new offices in Canada. It does have its own restriction on foreign workers, but I imagine the Canadian govt will enjoy poking the US in the eye over this issue.
  17. Fair enough. But in the case of Wilson and Roosevelt, the country was literally at war. That's the kind of things that happen in wartime.
  18. Someone should do a sequel to the Sixth Sense featuring Cameroni: "I see trans people."
  19. Oklahoma Republican Files Bill to Mandate Every Public University in State Erect a ‘Charlie Kirk Memorial Plaza’ "First off, Senate Bill 1188 would designate Kirk’s birthday, Oct. 14, as “Charlie Kirk Free Speech Day” in Oklahoma, in “remembrance of his courage and faith, to honor his extraordinary contributions to American discourse, faith, and freedom, and to commemorate his ultimate sacrifice for these principles.” A second bill, SB 1187, would require each public university in Oklahoma to designate a “Charlie Kirk Memorial Plaza.” According to The Oklahoman, “the central element of a planned plaza must include a statue of Kirk sitting at a table with an empty seat across from him, or a statue of Kirk and his wife standing and holding their children in their arms.” And finally, Jett’s Senate Concurrent Resolution 13, would require the Oklahoma state legislature to recognize and honor Kirk as “a martyr for truth, faith, and the First Amendment, whose courage in the face of adversity and unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ and the Christian faith has left an indelible mark on the soul of our nation.” https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/oklahoma-republican-files-bill-mandate-195100869.html That legislator is thinking too small. Why not just rename the state Kirklahoma?
  20. Also, as far as I know, Trump is the only President to openly threaten the media with punishment.
  21. First off, Zuckerberg has a lot of incentives to trash talk the Biden Administration and to sweet talk the Trump administration,. But not matter what the Biden administration did, it doesn't compare with an actual threat from the FCC commissioner to put a company out of business by denying licenses to its affiliates. And it's doing it again in the case of The View. Now if the problem is lack of balance. then shouldn't Fox's constant praise of Trump also qualify it for a review of its license?
  22. Senate panel finds Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election Politics Aug 18, 2020 4:49 AM EDT WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat, a Senate panel concluded Tuesday as it detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help. The nearly 1,000-page report, the fifth and final one from the Republican-led Senate intelligence committee on the Russia investigation, details how Russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the election on Trump’s behalf. It says the Trump campaign chairman had regular contact with a Russian intelligence officer and says other Trump associates were eager to exploit the Kremlin’s aid, particularly by maximizing the impact of the disclosure of Democratic emails hacked by Russian intelligence officers. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/senate-panel-finds-russia-interfered-in-the-2016-us-election
