Ok, that's flat out threatening to kidnap officials, which is a total and complete violation of the law. This man has lost his marbles, and think's he is untouchable and has God like powers to do what he wants.
I can only hope and pray that the cops, or the military, finally say "enough is enough" and snatch this lunatic off the streets and put him behind bars till he's a old, old man.
I was somewhat supportive of his goal of stopping the Amnesty Bill, but the power has gone to his head and now he thinks he can run things and that his way is the only way.
"I can only hope and pray that the cops, or the military, finally say "enough is enough" and snatch this lunatic off the streets"
Perhaps that's what he wants. Pushing the limits and forcing the caretaker government to act.
Much the same as the Red Shirt Leaders threatening the CC Judges and giving out their phone numbers and saying that they (Red Shirts) will arrest them. This PTP Government did not mention a word of condemnation for the actions of their Red Shirts along some of their own MP's, I might add,

The EC needs to use this opportunity to demand from the Government verifiable proof of where did all the money go. And require it to provide proof and receipt as such, of the spending if they receive more funds from either a loan or a sale from the stocks. As I read earlier they had requested and received funds for the new election. It seems to me that those funds need to be used to pay their Bill that is 5 MONTHS OLD, not allow them to borrow more money to just satisfy the rice farmers to cling to power.

Interesting that I just "Google"-- "U.S. Embassy + Thailand + News" and nothing about a planned seizure

The uniform is also easy to identify,
Another reason not to wear a uniform, because the Tech Schools all know which School you are from and can plan an attack at the rival School Students.

I hope that this being on the World Stage and reported in the New York Times will get the attention of the Tourists and Thai's and hurt their "Image" on a world class way. The only way is to get their attention is through their pockets and the tourist dollars in Thailand.

.
The cinemas still put out dubbed soundtracks which are infinitely more popular than original
Not so sure about that one. I go to the cinema at least 2 - 3 times a month, and I don't even need to look for a show with the original soundtrack. They all have it.
For your information; I live i Phetchabun in the North East and you can not find a Original Soundtrack Movie in English, so you must be living in Bangkok or some other place where a lot of foreigners reside. It is also had to even find a original soundtrack DVD in English

No problem, just move to the Big C and Central, Zen area they could be just like the Red Shirts and stay there until Ptp leaves or calls the new election.

So why is Mr. T still trying to get back into the country he should never be allowed to become a MP or the PM again if this is the LAW.
Article 102 (6) states that an MP must not "have been expelled,
dismissed or removed from official service, a state agency or a state
enterprise on the grounds of dishonest performance of duties or
corruption".

So 39% think it's ok to threaten a court? Great.....
I don't know where you got the 39% figure ........
If 61%
+ 24%---Those with no opinion
That is 85% from where I went to school

Another paper has reported the red leaders have told the red supporters to capture the judges when they see them. If they are captured I wonder if they will be taken to a red village.
And I seem to remember the same rhetoric from the famous "terrorist" (Korkaew) when he made the phone #'s and address of the Judges available, and had the solution of inciting the Red Mob as Vigilante's to arrest the Judges. Now these asses are providing the pictures also... There is no LAW left in Thailand. :-((
COME ON Police do you JOB!!!!

Thailand's judiciary gives sentences of 18 years for defamation due to loss of 'face', but a death will result in less than half that attached to a pissy 20,000 Baht fine. The legal system of Thailand is simply a joke. What is more important dear judiciary?
Not to mention that this is truly a terrible ACCIDENT , but what about the Red Bull grandson that killed a policeman while reckless driving, while drunk, and high on cocaine will he face the same 10 year sentence?

reported in CAAI and Bang post 18 Jan 2011; Veera denied bail in Cambodia, 6 others released on bail.
Cambodian authorities want assurances from Mr Veera that he would not again become involved in provocative behaviour.
The sources quoted Cambodian officials as saying Mr Veera had submitted written assurances in the past when he had been arrested saying he would not stray again into Cambodian territory.
-
You all seem to forget that, Veera Somkwamkid, was previously arrested and released after only pledging to not cross the border illegally again, and that is the reason for the harsh sentence regardless of the charges.
If someone pledges to me to not do something again and then did it another time I for one would have throw the proverbial book at him, is what happened in this case. He caused all the Cambodian officials to loose major face.

So now they are ready to give AV and ST amnesti. R.Amsterdam what is your comment?
I am not so sure about your statement, look again at what she said: She said the amnesty law proposed by the group would help protesters of all colours, not only the red shirts.
However, persons responsible for ordering the murder of people should not qualify for the amnesty, she said.

Aussies warned about Phuket scamsters
BANGKOK: -- Australian tourists in Phuket should be wary of extortion gangs, some of which are in cahoots with local police.
Australian Ambassador James Wise and his British counterpart, Mark Kent, have joined a Thai Ministry of Tourism campaign to tackle tourist scams on Phuket.
Up to 25,000 Australians visit Phuket each month, with Christmas and New Year the peak of the tourism season.
The main scams involve taxi and jet-ski operators in Phuket and the seaside resort town of Pattaya.
Mr Wise said travellers needed to be on their guard when they hired jet-skis or motorcycles.

I have to say that for once the police seem to have done a good job. I think that PT and Thaksin are doing everything they can to divide the country and ruin the economy, but this protest was not the right way to remove them from power.
Done a good job at what. They never have tried to stop any demonstrations before. Just sat around and watched them no barb wire no tear gas just let them do as they wanted.
Now all of a sudden they change the way they handle demonstrations. they come prepared for conflict. Yes they did a good job at what they started out to do instigate conflict.
They fooled a lot of Thai's because of the low education they have received where they were never learned how to think or reason things out.
Well, I for one say, it is about time the the Police or the Army or someone in authority put a stop of these rally's and protests. In all and all the both color coded protests need to stop and lets get on to a forward means of putting the country back together. One has to start somewhere to go forward instead of the 7 or 8 years of bullshit protests and by stating they did it first. That attitude is what my children did when they were 5 or 6 years old.
And if you don't like the Government vote them out next time, and if you can't because of vote buying, (both sides do it), then just live with it because if they (the people) want the 500 baht to sell their souls, then they get what they deserve, And at the day, it's up to them and not us, it's not our country.

A promise to pay Bt1,500 for transport costs had been made to anyone agreeing to join the rallies, he said.
And how much is the Chiang Mai 51 group paying for their trip to see and pay homage to a criminal.

And this in the news just moments ago::
BANGKOK: -- The Commerce Ministry is secretly arranging to sell the government's rice to local traders at below cost, aiming to clear up its overwhelming stockpiles rapidly in preparation for upcoming rice production under the pledging project.
Even I were just plan stupid, this is costing the Country big time and the Red Shirt Government is profiting on the backs of the Tax Payers.
-
Why is everyone bashing the rice scheme?
Thaksin says it will come good, he is always right
So the rice scheme must be a great idea
Just like that wonderful ELITE CARD, lol

Please, we need some info......... Bump up to the top again until someone responds

Is there any news on the plight of this young child from those that said they were close to the front of this whole issue?
If forum members will forgive me, I will shamelessly bump this to the top everyday until someone of those claiming to be in the know gives information regarding the well being of this young child who 'disappeared'. I for one care. What happened with Oswalds family from SA/Oz and their attempts to find and care for the child? All information gratefully received.
I am with you, let's keep this on the daily query until some one gives us some info.
-
In between sand bags in drains and no rain falling, is there any news follow up on the whereabouts of the child?
I second that query, Does any one know the whereabouts of the child, and the case of custody???

Their Majesties extend a helping hand
The Sunday Nation
BANGKOK: -- Their Majesties the King and Queen have graciously taken into royal patronage the medical and funeral expenses of state officials and people injured or killed in recent incidents related to rallies by the People's Democratic Reform Committee.
A letter, signed on January 13 by His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary Krit Garnjana-Goonchorn and sent to the governor of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), said that Their Majesties would cover the injured people's medical bills at BMA hospitals, plus funeral expenses of the deceased.
