  1. I have never needed my pin to withdraw or draw an advance by using my credit card. Just slide in the credit machine and then the receipt comes out and I sign it.

In the last 15 years here I have never needed my pin, only if using an ATM, but not an advance in the Bank Counter.

I don't use it very often because my bank in the states charges 3% on International charges/purchases and advances.

  2. It is the type of BS that the Government puts out more lies, who can believe them.

    This was posted today at around 9 A.M.;

    Posted Today, 09:00

Chao Phraya River overflows, inundating Ayutthaya's Sena District, officials say unseasonal rain caused high water level, not water discharged from dams /MCOT

and at 16:08 this afternoon MCOT posted this so I guess the lies are stil comming and no-one takes responsibilty.

  3. Don't quite understand it.

If the DSI says there is sufficient evidence to issue a warrant for a arrest why does it have to go to the prosecutors for approval. The DSI people are not stupid they know if they have enough to prosecute or not.

Not sure what you are on about here.

The article clearly states that the warrant is in operation.

The DSI have completed their report on Thaksin's extradition and will send it to the prosecutors who will then follow the recommendations.

All you have to do is read the article and use a dictionary if necessary.

Thank you Teacher, but I followed your suggestion to read the article again. I do not believe I need a dictionary, however I read nothing about EXTRADITION in the op. Further as was mentioned above, there is nothing about a warrant for jumping bail?

  4. It is my choice, but if it was with the approach of 5,000 I would differently not allow bail, and would probably arrest those that demand his release.

Where is the logic, do these people just think that because a few people show up that is reason to release a criminal.

    1. He should not be released, not because of that fact he is a flight risk; but because he broke his previous bail. How does logic work when you are on bail for an offense and told not to break your bail, then you incite riots, storm a hotel, Parliament, a hospitable, etc.

I am really all for their thinking on Rule of Law....NOT

  5. You should NOT even be thinking about looking at online pornography from within Thailand. The ISPs block it for a reason: because most of it is highly illegal under Thai morality laws. If your ISP reported your IP address, you could be facing a lengthy jail term. I know of one Thai man living near me who went to jail for having porn on his computer, and we're not talking about pedophilia here. Most if not all of the hardcore porn made in the USA, for example, would be illegal in Thailand, which is why the Government blocks it. Although I have sometimes looked at porn myself in other countries including Europe and the USA, i would NEVER consider doing so in Thailand precisely because of the illegality and the fact that I'm not keen on spending any time inside a Thai jail.

Thanks for the advise; By the way did you know prostitution is Illegal in Thailand???

  6. Maybe I need to talk to the FM, because my ex-wife, the mother of my children, when to the Thai Embassy in Washing, D.C. to renew her passport and was told that they would issue an emergency passport to go to Thailand and get a New I.D. Card because she has been living in the U.S. legally since 1976. They told her she had to go to Thailand and stay in her Village in Phitsanuloke about three months and get her new I.D. Card.

Maybe the FM can fly to Washington, D.C. and give her new passport and I.D. Card. or not. This Red Government is B.S.

  7. Why has this post been been posted again. I read this same one several days ago.

And an interesting fact is that the U.S. Government will not allow Direct Deposits of Social Security Checks into any Thai Bank except Bangkok Bank, so I have no idea where the poster received his info about HSBC and Direct Deposits from Social Security Pensions.

This from the U.S Embassy: In Thailand, only Bangkok Bank is able to accept direct deposits. You may contact the Bangkok Bank Main Office at 02-230-1323 or your local branch for more information on how to open a direct deposit account.

  8. I was in my very first Ikea store in Atlanta, Georgia last week while I was visiting my daughter. I was also quite shocked that nearly everything I saw was made in China. :realangry: Not sure if the Swedish Meatballs came from China too, but I wouldn't be surprised :whistling:

  9. At the end of the day it is not the worry of the airport is flooded or not, but what are you to do when you get here?? This with the worry of getting ripped off even more that before. It used to be only the Falang got scammed, but since the flood even the locals are fair play for the over pricing and scams. (B500 for a 2 or 300 meter trip in a row boat :whistling: ) Plus the worry of disease from the polluted water. I am leaving today and not coming back until it is relativity safe.

  10. I would think better fly to LAX,SFO etc. Then get low cost to Atlanta would be cheaper. Just a thought.

    dohop

    Eva Air BKK-TPE-LAX 5Dec 19825THB

The EVA is a good fare, however, the OP said he wants to go to Atlanta. If you get the great deal to go to LAX and then have to pay 400 to 500 to fly to Atlanta You would be better to take the One Stop Delta flight for $1100 including TAX, BKK-Narita-ATL. My thinking?

I assumed the OP was on a budget. Y'r close enough.

    BKK-TPE-LAX 19825 THB = 646.19 USD

    where is the 400-500?

    Air Tran LAX-ATL 5181 THB = 168.87 USD Total = approx. 815.06 USD

Not to get into a pissing match, I was just trying to suggest the easiest Quickest route. No reason to shout. By the way, I did look at Air Tran flights, and did not fine your 168.00 price. There was $202- $212 with tax and another stop. The non-stop from LAX to ATL is listed as $384.00 including tax. (VERY CLOSE to my ESTIMATE of $400.00)

  12. I am also going to Atlanta, my flight is on the 15th, You might want to check American Airlines .com and Delta.com

I am on a American flight, cost is 1,087.00 Dollars and Delta has a flight that cost 1,174.00 is a nice flight because it only has one stop. DL284 to Narita and then DL280 non stop to Atlanta.

    Hope that helps.

Good luck and pray that the Airport does not flood before then.

  13. In this framework, Buddhism and South East Asia offer the world a great hope which should not be discounted due to materialism from the West.

Maybe you overlooked Thailand with that statement, being as there are more Mercedes (per Capita) in Thailand than in many western countries. Not to mention the Thai culture that has to show off what they have, be it money, gold, cars, houses. (material things) :whistling:

  14. Don Muang is home to the capital's second airport, as well as the government flood relief center. But some residents in swamped areas there said they were running short on food. Volunteers who had been preparing to send emergency supplies to Ayutthaya, a city north of Bangkok which has been submerged for more than two weeks, were forced to consume them instead.

"Now we've become flood victims" ourselves, said 53-year-old Pimnipha Na Bangchang. "We're distributing this food aid to our community because we haven't received any help."

NO HELP, Because your Government declined it.?????

  15. Karun Sai-ngam, a key figure in the People's Alliance for Democracy and the Thai Patriots Network, said he doubts the government really wants to help Veera Somkwamkid and Ratree Pipattanapaiboon get out of a Phnom Penh prison. "I don't think they [the government] are serious.

I wonder what Mr. Karun wants to say about the sterling effort of the Democrats, (you know the guys that were partners with the P.A.D.) Were they serious???
