  1. Yankee... With the way those plugs look, do you think you might have worn valve guides from the high lift cam the 600 uses? If you use a lot of engine braking, it will suck oil down the valve guides and coke up your plugs like that. If it gets bad enough, your exhaust will have smoke when you get on it after using the engine to decelerate.

Could be if the plugs are "moist" rather than dry.

  2. Given that scrambling was the precursor to motocross one would expect it to look more like this

    classic-ajs-scrambler-motorcycle-2452075

This is closer to my expectation

Although Ducati would be that last manufacturer I would associate with the word scrambler.

It is like saying Ferrari SUV ... lord save us from bean counters

  3. As far as the colour of the plugs. Generally if the ECU gets a bad or no signal from some sensors it defaults to rich. This could be the cause of the black plugs. Or the temp sensor is faulty and the starting enrichment is being maintained.

Of course if the bike has ultra high mileage I guess the injectors could be worn or if the bike is third or fourth hand, in this country, they are not necessarily the correct ones for the bike!

  4. Has anyone mentioned that it is not "The Army" that is responsible for the coup? After all Thailand is not strictly a democracy, is it? This is not a group of rogue central american colonels. It is a group of loyal army officers doing what they were "instructed" to do.

  5. FYI: Double rear shocks are not as good as a rear mono-shock. More isn't always better, even in Merika.

    Very interesting!

The new Yamaha Tricity has two shocks as of course does the PCX the subject of this thread.

Honda Click 125i only has one shock so I guess that makes it better?

  6. ...Coup is easy. The difficult task for the army is how to manage this country. Being an authoritative leader is not enough. The entire people in Thailand are now on your shoulder. ...

Believe #1 once described his relationship with Thailand as it being a triangle with all the poor at the bottom. But rather than position himself at the top he said the triangle was upside down and resting on his shoulders.

  7. ...In Beijing, foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei told reporters: "China and Thailand are friendly neighbours. We hope to see normal social order to be restored as soon as possible in Thailand."....

That’s good coming from a country where there are bombs going of in URUMQI and all the fuss in Vietnam and the Philippines

Not to mention how Tibet feels etc..

They all say the same PC things...

  8. DHL is the courier.

Not sure but DHL may like FedEx have a 40,000 baht limit on the value of a item for which they can act as customs agent. So if the laptop was valued at more than about 750 Pounds including shipping then....

If you know where the customs are holding the item and have sufficient documentation to prove ownership the main customs office is at the port on the corner of Kasem Rat and At Narong.

If you need customs help these guys do it for us http://www.ioniclogistics.com/customs.asp

    .

You will probably have to do this

....It was stopped by customs and I was told that the only way that I could take delivery of it was to apply for an import licence.

My wife and I (she is Thai) went of to the courier's office and they pointed us in the right direction, which government offices to go to etc. In my memory it seems like we filled out reams of paperwork and spent about two days on this project. Finally my wife was issued with a customs ID card and we had an import licence, off we went to collect the phone.....

Based on 40,000 Please don't be surprised if the duty on the laptop is around 15,000 baht, could be less though depends on the value they attach to it. What happens to the imported cash is another story. That you wish to reclaim it does indicate you had prior knowledge and that might make you an accessory! If it turns out to be illegal to do so.

  9. If Taksin had just stuck with Telecoms he'd probably be richer than Carlos Slim by now.

In Thailand if you are a very successful businessman you almost have to go into politics to join the club otherwise someone will take your business away. He had to enter politics. What he didn't have to do is what he did.

  10. Studies HAVE proven that the Dachshund may be the most AGGRESSIVE, closely follow by the Chihuahua.

cheesy.gif Had to laugh. My wife took her Chihuahua to the vets to get a wound dressed and it took 3 people to hold him, sort of down, while the fourth did the actual work.whistling.gif He weighs in at an impressive 2.2 kgs.

There are two Thai breeds i think Thai ridgeback and one beginning with M

Otherwise it is a question of personal preference as they are all , well, dogs...

Not a Husky, Poor bastards all that fur in this heat!

  11. When I was looking into build a trailer, seems local trailer builders use Toyota hubs, which of course are local. It may be easier to convert your axles to local hubs and use local wheels.

If the axles you sources come from a non Thai vehicle ask the vendor where the wheels are that go with the axles.

You could ask these guys? They had a step-side and an old Chevy panel van. Looked like they were building trailers?

Sorry about the long link but for some reason now Google maps won't allow the copying of the link info. It is in Bang kruay on the 3014. I walked past it about 10 days ago.
