I run into this gang every year at visa renewal time but unfortunately thats the law here. I think the best thing to do with them is to do what my mother did when I was a child and that is to sew all their uniform pockets closed to stop them collecting stuff all the time.

You are right however I found in Thailand if there is enough people living in an area an industry will develop in it that will provide for all your needs. In the early 80's I was living with 2 girls in an apartment in Suan Plu near the old Imm Office. Sometimes the girls used to like to rent a few movies and have a night in. Initially I was puzzled because they didnt have a TV set let alone a video machine?? However, on the ground floor was a "VDO" shop (which I first thought was some kind of clinic lol) where the girls would select a few movies (VHS back then), pay at the counter, and then return to the room. 10 minutes later a couple of young guys would turn up at the door with a video machine and TV, set it all up and leave it for however many hours we wanted it. 2 or 3 oclock in the morning they would come back, pack it all up and return it to the shop. Marvelous service!

Both very different, but good IMO.
I thought Cruel Summer was going to be some teenage girl dribble and thus had my doubts about you lol but found it very entertaining. The shifting back and fwd in time had me somewhat confused at times but still thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you.
Couldn't get into Startup at all but thanks anyhow.

Agreed. The govt can respond any way it wants but it really depends on how the grassroots respond. I find it similar to the wearing of helmets here. The govt can make it law, the people can see the risks of not wearing one on TV every day, and yet its a struggle to get them to wear them (well up here it is). Lately 99% of the people in my small Isaan village wear masks, on the street at least. However if you were to venture into somebodies back yard, where they are out of sight, I have found they dont, even when they have visitors. And I keep getting the same stunned replies...."Oh but this is Thailand, or this is family, its different" .
An example. I had a very heated discussion with my wife last night because she wanted to go to a funeral today. An aunty had died and a big mob of family had come up from Bangkok to attend. She had already been there the day before intending to visit b4 the bangkok mob arrived. However some of the family had come to see her mother asking that the wifes family attend again. I told her that I did not want her to go and also that the family were being very irresponsible for pressurising others to attend especially seeing they found someone the other day in our village who had the dreaded disease. I of course got the same response: "Oh yeah but Thailand different". I believe its the old loss of face thing again where they dismiss the threat of covid in favour of saving face. She saw sense eventually and didnt go but I wonder how many would have gone just to save face in similar situations.

Just finished binge watching 9 seasons of Foyle's War. Absolutely brilliant in my opinion. I thought Foyle (Michael Kitchen) was superb having an intelligent answer or come-back for every occasion even if it was just a sideways glance. Wonderful acting, scenery, storylines and an interesting look at a piece of WW2 history. The show didnt mince words when it came to the US but it is what it is I guess.
I highly recommend the series. (123movies and Dailymotion)

This has been hashed over a million times. Do a google search and read widely, see your local amphur first and find out their requirements for the yellow book. It all depends on where you live....it varies greatly.
This subject has always caused heated arguements on here in the past so much so I am wondering if aseannow has purposely brought it up to deflect attention away from the rebrand????ing of ThaiVisa?? ????(oh damn, emojis not working)

Although you say there will be no changes I would like to suggest one but it would entail a bit of honesty. Every day, 2 -3 times a day, I get the ThaiVisa newsletter emailed to me and every day the first 3 or 4 supposed 'forum' posts are in fact adverts?? Why cant they be listed as adverts so they can be ignored? They are adverts pure and simple and its very obvious because the author is always the ThaiVisa Sales Team!! I know its only a small thing but outright dishonest really bugs me and shows ThaiVisa ( sorry Asean Now) has no credibilty.
Oh and I wonder will more adverts be jammed in here and there with the rebranding coz my poor Adblocker is overworked as it is with this site. Unfortunately it doesnt work on the "Singaporians are dropping dead with surprise over this new toenail cleaner" type ads. Surprised there are no Xray glasses ads too lol.

Very unlikely that it were just 100 vials, but more likely a complete delivery
I did wonder way back when first reading about the handling of vaccines whether Thais would be competent enough to handle controlled temperatures considering they still cant when it comes to food.

Marvelous bit of thinking there. Lets not keep the covid restricted to a few construction sites around Bangkok, but shut them down and look the other way while the possibly infected can spread to every province in Thailand.
Roadblocks, if anything like they are up my way, will be set up for sure but the only movement will be the guys down the back sharing a bottle of Lao Khao, having a BBQ and playing with their phones while people drive freely by.

The difference is that real Imm Officers pay a large fee to be part of the franchise whereas fake ones dont.
