I buy both Typhoo and Tetly tea bags on Lazada or Shopee Both are around 200 baht for 100 bags. No complaints, and delivered within a couple of days.

Jodd Fair. There are a couple around Bangkok. The one I went to was near BTS station 'Pahonyothin 24' I think. The original market is at Rama 9. Definitely worth a Google. It's more of a food fair with clothes shops and small bars.

I bought a BMax B4 on Lazada around 4 months ago. Original Windows 11 pro, 6600 baht. I've had no issues with it. I spent time wandering around Zeer Rangsit, IT mall, but couldn't find anyone selling mini PC's.

Health/Accident Insurance for Retirees
jaiyenyen replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He's 73 and plans to retire in a few months time. Money is not a problem for him, but he's concerned that he wouldn't get health insurance cover at his age. As I said before, he's got good health insurance with AXA, in the UK. So it seems to me that his best option would be to get them to extend cover to Thailand. I'm not sure about the Thai bank account. -
Health/Accident Insurance for Retirees
jaiyenyen replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I would guess that he'll probably want to do 90 days and 30+ days UK. In your opinion, is that an acceptable split? -
Health/Accident Insurance for Retirees
jaiyenyen replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks to both of you for your advice. I'll pass it on to my friend. It sounds to me that he might find the 90 day retirement visa more useful as he intends going back to the UK for a short stay, every few months. Would there be any problem with him doing this? I know immigration frowns upon 'Back to Back' visas. -
Thai man with mental illness disappears after his arrest in Bangkok
jaiyenyen replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Just because you never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. My wife's son dabbled with Yaa Baa when he was 16. By the time he was 20 he was diagnosed as being Paranoid Schizophrenic,as a direct consequence of drug use. He's now 26 and can look forward to a life of daily, strong medication. He's unable to function as a normal human being, even with his meds. Taking Yaa Baa was devastating for both him, and his mother. -
I use the same puff pastry, with the green lable. It's available in Makro. I make my own sausage meat. 250 gms Pork mince. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1 tsp Italian mixed herbs. Salt & Pepper. Mix together and let it sit for an hour. I use a golf ball size piece of sausage meat for each sausage roll. Also, sometimes I cut the roll in half, if I'm sharing with others. You can also add 1 shredded apple and 1 shredded onion to the mix. That works really well.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the price of a ticket on the Green Line must not exceed 62 baht. If that's the case, the line between Mor Chit and Ku Khot shouldn't be more than 15 baht. Still excellent value for money I reckon.

Tanks KhunLA.......very useful. The corkage charge looks okay, so I might take my own.

I know this sounds like a stupid question but, can anyone tell me if Tawangdaeng Rama 3, sells whiskey. If so, a rough idea of price per bottle. I've looked at their website but it looks like they only sell beer. I can't find any prices for spirits.

Adopting a child -just how difficult is it?
jaiyenyen replied to Deserted's topic in Family and Children
My wife is Thai. We've been married and living in Thailand for the past 18 years. My stepdaughter had a baby when she was very young. The father did a runner and has not been seen since the birth of his daughter (My granddaughter). My wife and I have taken care of our granddaughter, from just after her birth until now (She's 10). I would like to know how difficult it would be for me to adopt my granddaughter, and what, if any, are the advantages of adoption for her. I have a good, steady job with a major Thai company, WP, Non imm 'O' visa, and yellow tabien baan. Any comments would be appreciated. -
Not a good option at CW. They have started to refuse Non Imm 'O' extensions if you don't have a record of 90 day reports. This has happened to a friend of mine recently. He always laughed at me doing 90 day reports, boasting that he hadn't done a report for many years, and if he gets caught he'll just pay the 2000baht fine. He's now been caught. his extension has been refused, and he got the 2000baht fine. Guess who's laughing now. ????

Copies of documents at Change Wattana
jaiyenyen replied to Stef's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I did mine at CW a couple of months ago. Only 1 copy of each document was needed. But, as you know, It depends on the officer and her mood at the time. Good Luck. -

90 Day Report. Where?
jaiyenyen replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No need to use an agent. I can just send Mrs JYY. She's much cheaper 555 Thanks for all the advice everyone. I've decided to give the online option a try, so Mrs JYY is first reserve.
